[Bonus chapter] To keep the family's power
"I heard everything from Dom. I want you to do something for me, Bear."0
Bear stood motionless a few steps from the door, eyes on Heaven's back. His stern countenance didn't change, as if he expected this from her.
"I'll send you the list later." He lowered his head. "But I am more concerned about them."
Heaven arched a brow as she glanced over her shoulder. "It can't be helped." She paused as she set her eyes back to Sebastian, stroking his hair with her fingertips.
"Although I'm glad they somehow did a good job in the rescue, they can't continue a half-ass job. Let me deal with all of them."
"As expected." Bear let out a deep exhale. "Before that, I think you need to know about one thing."
"And that is?"
"Primo Rossi… the real one had been dead. The one you've met is someone who steals people's identity and lives that person's life. But that isn't the point. He was present during the operation," Bear summarized it, keeping it short and simple. "Joker got him, though."
Her brow arched once again at his last remarks. "Is he dead?"
"That… I'm unsure. But he got his arm. Joker blew it up."
"I see…" Heaven rocked her head in understanding, pondering about the entire situation. "Then that means we have time."
"Hopefully."
"How about Silas?" she resumed, not dwelling on the previous topic that much. "I heard from my husband he had been behaving himself, and that there was no trace of his involvement in this matter."
"The authorities either do a sloppy job or purposely hide something." Bear kept his answer vague, even though he already guessed that Heaven didn't buy everything she had heard from Dominic. Dominic was in disbelief himself. What more Hera?
A moment of silence befell them, as there was nothing else Bear could add. For sure, Dominic already filled her in and she simply asked him for some matters for confirmation. Not that she didn't trust Dominic, but she was the type to take some alone time to think of their next move.
"Alright." Heaven carefully pushed herself to sit up, watching Sebastian if he would wake up. When she was sure her son was sleeping soundlessly, she faced him squarely.
"Bear, no matter what, protect Silas at all costs." Deep lines appeared in between his brows as he squinted his eyes. "Don't let him die. This fake Primo seems to be someone who disposes of people easily when they are no longer useful to him or if it would benefit him. That's why… don't let Silas die. Not yet."
The corner of her mouth curled up. "He'll come in handy."
Bear assessed the look on her face. It was neither cunning nor angry, but rather amused about something. Knowing this look, Bear immediately understood what she meant.
"Very well." He lowered his head. "Anyway, if your husband hadn't mentioned it, he's been working with Joker."
"He mentioned." Heaven looked away from him, eyes falling on her son. "I think he mentioned anything he could think of to make it up to me. Though I planned on telling him everything, I needed a moment."
Bear rocked his head. "I'll go for a while."
"Mhm." Heaven simply cast Bear a quick look as the latter left the ward quietly. When Bear closed the door behind him, a shallow breath slipped past her lips.
'Primo Rossi…'she thought, setting her attention to the book that was on the bedside table. Reaching for it, she read the book cover and caressed it with her fingertips. 'You better read tons of war books, because next time, you wouldn't just lose an arm.'
A glint flickered across her eyes as her eyelashes fluttered. 'Once this child is born, I'm skinning you alive myself.'

Hours later…
"Baby, will you be okay?" Heaven asked, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Of course!" Sebastian grinned until his small teeth were on full display. "Don't worry about me, Mommy. Butler Fu usually stays with me and also, and I'm already a big brother soon. So, I'll be fine."
Her eyes softened, ruffling his hair gently. "That's my boy." Her eyes twinkled with pride, nodding at him reassuringly.
"I'll be back first thing in the morning," she said, earning a nod from her brave son. "Okay?"
"Alright!"
The two of them smiled at each other before turning their head to Dominic. He had a smile on his face seeing that his wife and son were doing better, standing on the side of the bed with his hands in his pockets.
"Let's go?" Dominic raised his brows at his wife, making her nod without objections. "Axel, please look after Basti for now."
"Don't mention it." Axel, who was already growing comfortably on the couch, waved dismissively. "You two should rest, especially my sister. Don't worry about Basti. I'm strong and fearsome, you know?"
Heaven and Dominic simply smiled at Axel's claim. However, Sebastian couldn't stop himself from revealing the doubt in his eyes. The little master bit his tongue to stop himself from leaving a harsh comment, though.
The couple spent more time with Sebastian, staying for another hour, as both were reluctant to leave their child. But in the end, they still bid the little master farewell when it was time for him to rest. This time, Dominic still wheeled Heaven in a wheelchair until they reached the driveway of the hospital.
The hotel was just three minutes away from the hospital, so the journey wasn't that long.
"Thanks." Heaven flashed Dominic a smile as the latter opened the door for her, earning a subtle smile from him in return. As the both of them headed inside the suite, the bodyguards following them stayed outside to guard them.
"Miriam will come here first thing in the morning," explained Dominic as he followed his wife into the hotel room. "She will keep you company and take care of all your needs when I'm not around."
Dominic raised his brows as he watched his wife walk in a certain direction. His brows knitted as he caught a folder just sitting on the coffee table in the living area.
"What is that?" he asked, advancing to his wife as she read the folder. This time, Dominic caught the stern look on her side profile.
"A list," she answered monotonously, turning her head toward him before handing the folder to him with nonchalance.
Heaven blinked, shaking the folder for him to take it. "In here were the names of everyone under my command all over the world. Since those greedy bastards didn't know better, it's best to replace all of them to keep our family's power."
