[Bonus chapter] Saved

"Let's see…" Tiger tapped on his phone's screen and placed it in front of his ear. He sauntered back to Ivy's room, where the woman was sleeping peacefully. "Hey, can you send me an updated map of my current location to the target area? Also, I need a precise coordinate of the target."  1

Tiger kept his phone in between his ear and shoulder, talking to the person on the other end of the line. As he talked, he opened the briefcase, revealing a dismantled sniper rifle.

"Hey, stop sassing, will you? I've checked the map, but I need to know if there was infrastructure built in the middle. It's quite a long distance," he sassed while assembling the sniper. He raised his foot on the chair near him, putting the phone on speaker mode as he placed it on top of the drawer in front of him.

"I'm ready," he said, taking the stance as he held his sniper rifle in place. "Where is it?"

Tiger arched a brow as the call ended. He glanced at his phone, clicking the link Gray sent him even though the person he was on the call with was Moose. A hum slipped past his lips as he checked the 3D map Gray sent him.

"See?" he let out a short laugh. "I'd missed without this. That motherfucker just wants me to mess things up. Tch. Doesn't he know I'm collecting good points?"

Before Tiger prepared himself, he glanced over his shoulder at where the bed was. He threw Ivy on the bed and she was now sleeping peacefully.

"What a woman," he commented, unlocking the window and sliding it up a little. There was only an inch gap between the window and the jamb. Just enough for the sniper's muzzle to go through it. He slowly shut his one eye while the other was on the scope.

There was a moment of silence that befell his shoulder. Tiger calculated the distance of his target. It was quite far, after all.

"Du du du du…" he hummed as he moved his sniper rifle until he stopped, recalling the map he had been studying ever since receiving the first call. "I promised him to make him punch that motherfucker in the face once. You can't die yet, second young master."

"Ugh!!!"

Axel grunted in pain as the rogues seized him after minutes of struggling. He used up all his remaining energy in buying all of them some time. But these rogues were so cruel! They were the ones who asked him to struggle for the last time, telling him he shouldn't give up just yet. But they didn't even show mercy while seizing him!

They could at least be gentle with him! He was already injured.

"It's just an injured puppy, and yet, you took some time to seize him!" The man watching them frowned deeply, watching the two rogues pick up Axel's arm to rest on their shoulder. "Stop wasting time. Put him in!"

"Stop bossing us around, eh?!" The bald rogue harrumphed. "If we can't afford to waste so much time, then you should've helped us! This guy is persistent."

The bald rogue and the other man glared at each other in dismay.

"Do it now, or I'll sink the three of you with him," warned the other man in a stern voice. "Don't forget. You are simply foot soldiers. I have no obligation to make sure you live."

The three rogues' faces dimmed, but this time, they didn't refute. What this man said was true. In terms of skills, the rogues were certain they couldn't do anything against him, even if they joined forces.

"Don't make me repeat myself," added the man under his breath. "Finish the job."

"Fine, fine! Damn it!" The bald rogue clicked his tongue in irritation, looking around their surrounding. There were at least two other people Silas told to stay. Another huff slipped past his nostrils, looking back at the guys who were carrying Axel.

"Take him," he ordered, tipping his head to the tank. "Don't waste more time."

The rogues holding Axel nodded and without a word, dragged Axel to the metal stairs where they should throw him. Meanwhile, Axel blinked his weary and swollen eyes. He glanced at the bald rogue, only to catch the grim expression on his face.

After honing the skill of deception, Axel immediately saw through the bald guy. The latter was also unsure if they stalled enough time or not.

'At least we tried,' was what Axel thought to himself, putting all his weight into his body to buy some more time. It worked a little because the guys dragging him slowed down.

When Axel and the two rogues reached the top of the stairs, the two men looked at each other. They held their breaths and looked at the tank and then gulped nervously. Axel also gazed at the pool of acid, getting a whiff of the fumes ascending from it.

There was no doubt that it was acid.

"My god…" Axel murmured, staring at the dangerous fluid. "I don't want to die — at least, not like this."

PHEW!

Axel and the three rogues flinched when they heard a thin noise; it sounded like a bullet hit a metal kind of sound. Their eyes instinctively searched where the sound came from, but their eyes led them to the man who had been bossing them around.

The man had his eyes wide open, not blinking even once. But his blank expression wasn't what caught their attention, but the hole between his brows. They watched the man fall on his back with a loud thud, making the other two men in the warehouse move. But alas…

"Who's that —"

BANG!

A loud bang suddenly echoed in the abandoned warehouse, making Axel and the three rogues turn their heads to the other two men who were with the first person who was gunned down. When they caught the other people Silas planted in this place, their eyes fell on the man, who was now lying in his own pool of blood, while the other slowly lowered his gun.

"Well, that took you a fucking while!" Axel and the rogue flinched again when the man they were staring at took off his mask, revealing Moose.

Moose was yelling and cursing, pressing the earpiece in his ear. "Do you know my life savings depends on this mission?!"

"And do you know my good points depend on this?!"

The rogue and Axel could only stare at Moose's fight with someone on the call as if he didn't just kill someone.

"I'm saved…" Axel heaved a sigh of relief, glancing at the rogue. His heart felt at ease when he caught the relief on the rogues' faces as well.

They were all saved, not just him.
