I. SAID. GET. DOWN.
[PRESENT TIME]0
"And you're right, Silas. You're not family. You've stopped being one the moment you thought of us as your enemies."
Silas held his breath as his pupils dilated, holding Dominic's naturally sharp eyes. How did things turn out like this? The situation was still the same: Dominic and his men were still unarmed while Silas's people were armed. Yet, why did it feel like he was trapped?
"He he… Silas, did you really think my brother — no. My sister is capable of forgiving?" After a few seconds of nothing but silence, Axel spoke again.
Silas and everyone instinctively set their eyes back on the screen on the stage. This time, they realized this wasn't just a recorded video, but rather a live broadcast. Axel could see everything in real-time.
How?
"That mere woman you kept belittling will not even forgive who bullied our little ancestor." Axel let out a shallow breath. "I now understand your hatred toward us, but…"
His voice cracked as a thin layer of tears coated his eyes underneath his swollen eyelids. "But that doesn't justify your actions. Silas, if you truly want revenge, then you should've targeted us directly. You should've just plotted for Grandma's murder instead of dragging the innocent children into this unresolved family issue. Those kids… you were like them once. They are innocent and Basti doesn't deserve to still be in a wheelchair."
"Hah…" Grandma Zhu let out a sneer, looking at her youngest grandson on the screen. "What a cheeky boy. How can she advise someone to plot my murder?"
"Ha ha ha…" Silas ground his teeth as his hands slowly balled into a tight fist. His eyes shook at the sight of Axel, and listening to his sentiments was just full of nonsense. He breathed out a deep huff, gazing at Grandma Zhu and then at Dominic.
"So what?" he remarked, with a vestige of mockery. "Dom, so what if you saved your brother? Nothing changes!"
Silas spread his arms while the corner of his mouth stretched from ear to ear. "You are still unarmed! I still have the upper hand! Your end is still the same! Your guests will die along with you and this world will hate you with everything it can!"
"Stupid motherfucker." Primo shook his head, looking at Silas in disbelief. "How come I didn't see that he's actually an idiot?"
"I suppose that is because you're also one, young man."
Primo's brows rose as he slowly gazed down at Grandma Zhu. The latter was looking up at him with those pair of fiery eyes. Primo was still holding the wheelchair behind the Old Madam Zhu.
"Well, maybe?" he shrugged, keeping his cool despite the situation. Panicking wouldn't help, after all. "You know, Old Madam Zhu, I was still recovering. Maybe my brain wasn't still working properly."
"Heh." Grandma Zhu hissed, ignoring the man as she had nothing else to do here except be a proper decoy.
"Dominic Zhu, you don't scare me." Silas, on the other hand, kept his focus on Dominic. He shook his head mildly while sneering. "You just gave me more reason to kill everyone — not only the people inside this place but also those people who thought they were saved. The more people die, the more it will tarnish your precious reputation."
Silas laughed out loud like a maniac. Meanwhile, Dominic's eyes drooped while staring at the man. Surely, Silas lost his mind and couldn't think straight. How could this not alarm him when Primo, his powerful backer, was already hostile?
It might not show on Primo's face, but Dominic could see how the man's grip on Grandma Zhu's wheelchair trembled.
"Silas, do you know why I let things happen and even swallowed my guilt at letting my brother get hurt by you?" After a long silence, Dominic broke his silence. He tilted his head a little to the side, blinking. "That is because you're correct. I wanted to be a hero for tonight. How can I be a hero if I don't save everyone?"
Deep lines appeared between Silas's brows while the corner of Dominic's mouth hooked up into a smirk. Coincidentally, Silas felt a vibration in his chest. He wanted to ignore it as this wasn't the time to answer phone calls, but Dominic could see the faint light through the fabric of his suit.
"You should answer that," Dominic suggested monotonously. "You might get enlightened if you do."

Five minutes ago…
Moose glanced from his left and right. Right now, the masked and armed men were ushering them through the hallway, heading to an area he wasn't sure where. His eyes then veered at the old men — Dominic's precious guests and a few members of the board of directors.
"Senator," he called, earning the armed men walking behind them to press his rifle's muzzle on his back
"No talking," said the armed man authoritatively. "Get going."
Moose frowned as he glanced over his shoulder. A sigh slipped past his lips as he cast the senator beside him a look.
'Get down,'he mouthed, making the senator furrow his brows. 'I. SAID. GET. DOWN.'
The senator read his lips and was able to decipher what the man was saying. His lips curved down a bit.
'Are you insane?'The senator mouthed back, casting Moose a warning look. 'Don't do anything until we're out!'
'Did he really think they would let us go just like that?' Moose frowned a bit, wondering how come this man was able to get into the senate if he was this gullible. But then again, that shouldn't be his concern. At least he tried warning him just because he sort of liked the man. Moreover, for future benefits.
As their group quietly walked through the hallway, Moose kept glancing at the people walking on either side of their group. He glanced up at the lights on the ceiling as if he was waiting for something. After a second, the lights went off for a moment, causing everyone to stop from their steps.
'I thought something happened,'he thought as he grinned before he swiftly jumped to the side, elbowing the masked man beside him in the jaw. But before the armed men could fall from the assault, Moose grabbed a hold of his body — specifically, the rifle clinging across his body before opening fire continuously.
