[Bonus chapter]Emergency stairs
[VENUE]1
"Silas!"
Silas ran as fast as he could and jumped to the end of the hallway, rolling to the ground to dodge the bullets coming from behind him. He clenched his teeth and winced, feeling the sting on his leg.
"That bastard!" he roared through his gritted teeth, assisting himself until he was sitting with his back against the wall. "Dominic, are you crazy!?"
"Come out!" Dominic yelled back, marching through the hallway, where he caught Silas. After following the trail of blood, he soon caught up to Silas. He didn't know how injured the man was, but from what he had seen, it seemed it wasn't a major injury. Silas could still move swiftly, after all.
"Let's settle this tonight, Silas!" he roared once more, pistol raised and firing another shot at the corner where Silas was hiding. "No one's retreating! Let's kill each other!"
Silas clicked his tongue in annoyance, knowing Dominic was simply courageous because he was injured... a little.
"Drop your weapon and I'll really settle things tonight!" Silas roared back, sliding his back against the wall as he rose to his feet.
BANG!
Silas jolted and ducked a little. When he turned his head, he caught some dent in the wall near his head as the bullet bounced aimlessly.
'This bastard!' he cursed inwardly, lifting the rifle he looted earlier. 'He's only tough because he now got the upper hand!'
Fighting Dominic should be easy, he thought. However, if Silas wasted even a second with him, then his chances of escape would slim. Right now, Silas had grown aware that Dominic turned the tables and now got the upper hand. Therefore, instead of confronting them even further, Silas had to take a strategic retreat.
"Dominic!" Silas yelled back as he glanced at the vase at the end of the hallway. Through it, he could see Dominic's tiny figure approaching. If his calculations were correct, Dominic was just halfway through the hallway at the moment.
"If I were you, worry about your wife and family instead of following me!" he yelled once again, raising his rifle as he kept his eyes on the vase. "But if you really want to die, then be my guest!"
BANG BANG BANG!
When the vase shattered and the ear-splitting gunshots resonated across every corner of the hallway, Dominic instinctively jumped to the side and took cover. Fortunately, he was standing just right beside a room and he immediately got in to hide.
"Tch!" Silas clicked his tongue in irritation, looking over the wall he was hiding, only to see no one. This time, he caught the open door on the side, irritating him more. He didn't see that door through the vase.
"That lucky bastard," he muttered but didn't dwell on it. Instead, Silas used this chance to get away. He held his rifle securely, jogging away that led him to the stairs. He specifically ignored the elevator, knowing he couldn't be in one, afraid he'd get trapped inside.
"Silas!"
As he reached the grand stairs inside another event hall, Silas heard Dominic's faint voice. He stopped momentarily, looking back from where he came from.
"That persistent fucker," he snapped his tongue again but then resumed in his jogs. When he reached the second floor, he looked over the mezzanine, only to see Dominic on the ground floor.
"Why is he so fast?" Silas grumbled, raising his rifle to open fire and buy himself some time.
BANG BANG BANG!
Dominic had no choice but to hide back to where he came from, avoiding getting shot. Silas was simply shooting randomly, but still, if he got shot, Heaven would be very angry. He promised his wife, after all.
Once the shooting ended, Dominic stayed still for safety. After a few seconds, he stepped out, but then another round of bullets flew in his way. Thanks to his fast reflexes, Dominic was able to get back in time.
'That jerk...'Dominic ground his teeth, gazing down at his biceps. He winced as he pressed on it, feeling something thick and sticky on his palm. When he retrieved his hand and looked at his palm, he clenched his teeth.
'He got me,'he thought, pressing on his biceps to put some more pressure on it. 'Fortunately, it's just a graze.'
Even if it was just a light graze, Dominic immediately took off his blazer suit, revealing the straps underneath it and some more pistols attached to him. He then fished out a handkerchief from his trousers, tying it around his light cut in case that would numb it and wouldn't become a hindrance to his precision.
Dominic bit the end of the handkerchief, pulling it to tie it securely. After that, he huffed and stepped out of the exit once more. Looking up, Silas was no longer in sight.
"Damn it!" he cursed, almost biting his tongue as he thought he was getting influenced by Tiger's bad mouth.

"That lucky bastard. Since when did he start training?" Silas still jogged his way, heading to another stair. "He didn't use to be that flexible — or swift."
He shook his head, getting rid of the thought that was on his mind right now. What was important right now was that he was coming close to the more steep stairs. But on the way, Silas stopped as he turned his head to his side.
"Right…" he breathed out, nodding to himself. "I should take the emergency stair."
Because of the situation, Silas had been missing many important details. However, when he caught the sticker glued on the wall that showed the floor plan of this state-of-the-art venue hall turned into a battlefield, it gave him an idea.
'Going through the main stairs will take me some time,' he told himself, jumping from his vantage point as he took the other route. 'It's faster this way.'
With that thought in mind, Silas didn't waste a breath as he headed to the emergency stairs that were a little farther from his original position. But it was worth taking the risk.

Meanwhile…
Ivy heaved a sigh of relief as she snuck inside the emergency stairs. She bit her bottom lips, clutching her hand close to her chest. But when she took a step, she heard some voices below.
'No!'She instinctively covered her lips, staggering back not to catch those guys downstairs's attention. 'They'll kill me.'
Ivy held her breath, knowing she was in trouble. She looked back at the door where she came from, but she barely dodged some people's attention. She then slowly gazed up at the stairs going up, making her bite her lips even harder.
Ivy just stared at it momentarily, and when she heard a man's voice approaching, she wasted no time and carefully tiptoed her way up.
What she didn't know was the men who were below the floor where she was weren't enemies. But some bodyguards planted by Dominic to make sure no enemy would get out.
