Heaven's misunderstanding
"I guess this is farewell, Heaven Liu. Don't worry. Your children will be with you soon. You won't be lonely."2
When the click of the door caressed Heaven's ears, she slowly opened her eyes. Her brows rose as she glanced at the door, eyes falling on the gap underneath the door. She could still see a person's shadow in it, which she immediately assumed was Silas.
"I swear to god," she murmured to herself, pushing herself to sit up. "If he tried to kiss me, I would've snapped his neck and changed plans completely."
Heaven sat up in the middle of the long couch where Silas threw her in. She kept her eyes underneath the door, only to see the shadow move away, only for more shadows to replace it. If her guess was correct, Silas already left to start the show and asked some people to guard this room.
"Pathetic."
A glint flickered across her eyes, remembering Silas's parting remarks. She didn't care about his other remarks, as they all sounded like a bee buzzing. Who cared about his feelings? However, it was different when her children were in the discussion.
"Did he really think I'd drink anything that comes from him? This body isn't immune to anything — I'd be dead if I'm not careful." Heaven pushed herself up, stretching her neck from one side to the other.
To be honest, Heaven didn't know Silas's exact plan. What she only knew was that Silas was up to no good and that he would make his move tonight. Considering he was working with Primo, he would surely try to kill everyone. How he would do it? She didn't really know. Therefore, for safety precautions, Bear handed her an antidote for any drug or poison.
Silas doesn't scare them, though. But the fact that Primo was involved in it alarmed them. Primo already showed how cunning he could be at times and that he was quite lucky for still being alive after Joker bombed him. They fell for the man's meticulous plans in the past. They wouldn't be too stupid if they fell for his traps once again.
"Though from what I see it… Primo didn't participate in the planning too much." Heaven stretched her arms, taking her precious time to warm up her body. "If he did, then that guy wouldn't just leave me alone in here."
Heaven shook her head, planting her hands on her hips, eyes on the door. Her brows rose once again, gazing down at her tight dress.
"Ah. No wonder I feel like someone got me in a chokehold," she muttered before clasping her dress up a little. Seeing that she was still on her heels, Heaven sat her butt down on the couch once again to take them off. Once she was finished, she looked at the skirt of her tight dress.
"I really liked this dress." A deep frown appeared on her face as she reluctantly tied it up to her legs. She couldn't rip it apart, especially when she really liked this dress her son picked for her. Thus, she simply tied it up, letting the big knot rest on the side of her leg.
"Well, I guess this is enough." She shrugged, jumping back to her feet. She jumped into the same spot once more, checking if her body was working properly. After all, even with an antidote to her system, she had to make sure the drugs wouldn't hinder her later.
"All good." She nodded, stretching her arms wide before setting her eyes on the door once again. Heaven unhesitatingly marched toward it, standing in front of the door.
"Got a cigarette?"
Her brows arched as she heard the faint voices just right outside the door. She moved closer until her ear was on the door, eavesdropping on the conversation on the other side.
'What a lovely time they have,'she thought, sniffing hard and got a whiff of the cigarette smoke. 'That makes me feel bad for ruining it.'
Heaven shrugged nonchalantly, keeping her hands on the knob. She just waited for them to finish the last stick of cigarette as a gesture of consideration. Though she listened to their conversation just for the heck of it. It didn't seem these guys were worried about anything. They sounded confident they would live tonight.
"There's no way they will be able to get out of here," said another man as he slowly guided his cigarette to his lips. "Considering we already took control of this place, only a miracle can turn the tides."
"Well, suck for them. Haha!"
This time, Heaven frowned as she unhesitatingly opened the door. "Can you please not mention my daughter's name with your filthy mouths?" Her voice earned the two men's attention, making them look back at her.
Since they were simply guarding a vulnerable lady, they were at ease with their weapons just clinging around their bodies. That was why when their eyes landed on Heaven, they couldn't react immediately as Heaven swiftly snatched the stick of cigarette from the man's lips, flicking it to the other person's eye.
"Ah!" the other man instinctively covered his eyes as the lit cigarette hit his eyelid.
Heaven didn't waste a second as she raised the bottom of her fist, hitting the other man's chin. The man accidentally bit his tongue, but before he could even recover from the pain in his mouth, she grabbed his collar and pulled him down. Her knee instantly hit his abdomen, grabbed the rifle clinging across his body, and aimed it at the other person.
"You —!" The other man still had his hand over his eye, breath hitching as she aimed the rifle in his direction. Before she could fire, the lights suddenly went out, and the last thing he saw was the spark in the muzzle before falling into darkness.
Thud!
Despite the lack of light, Heaven didn't stop. She held the rifle while its straps were still around the other man. The man was hunching in pain.
"This is what you get for dragging my children into this mess." Heaven used the handle of the rifle and knocked at the man's nape. But before he could fall, she held the rifle close to his body with one hand and pulled the trigger, shooting him from the chin that went through the top of his head.
