[Bonus chapter] One minute, sixty seconds.
Everywhere Heaven went, bodies piled up the path. Silas' biggest mistake was ever taking his eyes off of her. She was unstoppable. Over a year ago, Heaven had to hold back because of the child inside her womb. But now, nothing would stop her. 2
Her children were safe — Axel as well.
Although Dominic was out there in the middle of the main battlefield, she trusted her men. Tiger, to be exact. Bear would probably look for her, but Tiger would surely stick with Dominic just because he was his employer. That was why she wasn't worried about her husband.
"He's taking quite some time," Heaven whispered, leaning against the wall right beside the entrance of the rooftop. "How boring."
As she waited for Primo to arrive on the rooftop, Heaven cleaned the pistol in her hand. The pistol was something she looted from one of the fallen enemies. She had already reloaded it. The armed men came prepared, after all. Even though every single one of them was confident their success was high, they came loaded with ammo, not knowing these same ammo would be used to end them.
Heaven glossed her eyes over the surroundings, unfazed by the sight of the dead on the concrete ground. This wasn't new to her. It was a sight she was very familiar with. Thus, this slightly unpleasant feeling crept into her heart.
Different names, different faces and bodies, and different identities. But alas, it was the same situation as when she was Hera Cruel.
'The chances are low,' she whispered inwardly. 'But if Primo was able to get away tonight, then...'
Heaven leaned back until her back was almost fusing with the wall. She cocked her head back, sliding his eyes to the shut entrance of the rooftop.
"Then that means I don't have a choice but to go back."
A glint flickered across her eyes at the thought that crossed her mind. At this point, she was starting to believe it didn't matter if she was Hera or Heaven. This torturous and chaotic hell would come after her. Therefore, she had to end Primo now or her chances of maintaining the life she had now would fall straight to hell.
Heaven cocked the pistol in front of her, raising it up over her shoulder. Once Primo came in, she would end him in a second. She didn't plan on wasting her time. No matter how wicked and cunning Primo was, he wasn't immortal.
'Well, I just hope he wouldn't experience the same phenomena I experienced,'she thought, thinking that would be problematic. But well, she didn't put too much thought into it, knowing it would only stress her out.
She was already stressed enough — peeved, even.
"If he still doesn't come in the next full minute, I'll take that as he got a hint from that traitor.'" Her eyelashes fluttered ever so slowly, glancing in Elmo's direction. "Who knows if he has a secret code to warn him?"
Heaven shrugged nonchalantly. Either way, she would find Primo if that was the case. Thus, Heaven started counting inside her head. One minute, sixty seconds. That was all the time she had given herself. Even so, a part of her still believed that Primo would come.
Why?
Because the chopper was here. If Primo wanted to flee this place, then the chopper was the only way. He could fight his way out and use a car, but Primo wasn't so foolish to think it would be easier. Not to mention, the chances of survival were too low.
'If he's that smart, then he surely learned how to pilot a helicopter,'she told herself.
The underground was many things. It was not only full of wicked people and illegal, inhumane dealings. Some people in it were truly talented and smart. For instance, Hera learned how to maneuver any kind of transport engine because all missions had their risk.
The leader should know how to get away if things go bad. Although that never happened during her time in the past, nor was it in her vocabulary to do such a cowardly thing, she still learned it anyway. Therefore, she wouldn't be surprised if Primo had obtained the same knowledge as the last resort.
'54, 55, 56, 57…'Her right brow arched as she stopped counting in her head upon hearing a sound inside the door. Her shoulders tensed up a bit, and she slipped a finger inside the trigger, ready to pull it the moment the door opened.
The heavy footsteps approached, mixing along with the faint sound of metal hitting another. If she could guess, it was probably a watch hitting the railing as the person took up the stairs in here. After all, to reach this place, one could take the lift to the floor below the rooftop, and then take the stairs.
That was what she did earlier. She fought those who stood in her way and took the lift. Some of Silas's men would use the lift, which explained why there were so many dead bodies lying around on every floor. They met her on the way and tried to stop her, only to meet their demise.
'Is he injured?' she wondered, basing the person's situation who was now approaching the door on the sound of his footsteps and the faint sound from the railing. 'Well, not important.'
Heaven mentally shook her head as she prepared herself for the person coming. It only took an entire minute for her to realize the person had reached the door. However, it felt like over an hour. Her eyes fell on the knob, clenching her teeth as she watched it twist ever so slowly.
The door slowly opened, and Heaven leaned back to hide herself. She had to make sure the person coming was Primo and not anyone else. She didn't want to mistake someone and kill the wrong person. So she waited until she caught a person stepping inside the rooftop.
Heaven pointed her gun at the person coming in, only to freeze. Her pupils slowly dilated as she instinctively held her breath as she recognized the person coming into the rooftop.
