You're also responsible
Silence dominated the room as a few people watched the clip of last night's event in the LYON Group's underground parking space. Heaven raised her brows as Dominic paused the clip, moving his eyes to his side where his wife sat. 0
"What?" she mouthed, shifting her eyes to the pair of eyes cast upon her.
Around the same room where she and Dominic were having breakfast were Bear, Princess, and Gray. They were looking at her as if they were blaming her or just waiting for her to say anything.
"Guys... don't look at me like that!" she defended, as she felt the need to. "It's not me who beat up someone! It was Tiger! Why are you looking at me as if it's my fault?"
"Tiger is one of your men," Dominic pointed out, making her mouth fall open. "Shouldn't you be the one responsible for him?"
"Darling, he used to be one of my men! That's a past tense, baby. The person paying him now is you!"
"Fair enough."
"But even so, you are still responsible in a way." Bear, who was standing on the side, spoke his mind in a stern voice. "Tiger only listens to you, but you didn't want to discipline him anymore. If only you did, he wouldn't just go berserk."
Heaven scrunched up her face as she looked at Bear in dismay. She wanted to defend herself from this injustice, but Princess spoke before her.
"If he knew about you, he would surely behave himself." Princess nodded, agreeing to herself. "In a way, I think you are still responsible. A little."
"Boss, I think you should put him in place instead of letting him do whatever he wants," Gray chimed in, standing straight beside Princess. "It will be a problem if he continues to create trouble like this one. Have you heard his reason for beating up Silas? He said it's because Silas is annoying!"
Heaven's expression grew uglier as she listened to their nonsense. "Are you really sure that's the only reason?"
"That's his defense," Dominic answered, watching his wife look back at him. "He's already taken to the security disciplinary office to be disciplined. I know he's someone important to you, but I can't just turn a blind eye to it when Silas is in the hospital."
"First things first, Silas deserved to be beaten up," she remarked offhandedly. "Secondly, I don't believe he didn't have a reason not to mug Silas. Tiger might be annoying and arrogant ninety-eight percent of the time, but he wouldn't beat someone up for such a petty reason. He doesn't care about the small stuff."
"Whatever the reason, he still used violence against Silas. Silas deserved it with everything that he had done, but doing it so bluntly still puts me in a tight spot."
Heaven sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose. All she wanted right now was a peaceful breakfast with her husband before they would go to work. However, she hadn't even touched her food when this news came to them early in the morning.
"He's really a piece of work," she grumbled. "What a headache."
As Heaven was cursing Tiger in her heart, Dominic assessed his wife. Silas was now a part of the board of directors. If this incident happened outside the company, he could easily turn a blind eye to it. However, Tiger seemed to not think much about his actions and just did what he wanted. Even if Tiger had a deeper reason behind his actions, his methods were still wrong.
'Now that I think about it, her men had these kinds of tendencies.' Dominic sighed heavily once again, remembering that time Bear went crazy and massacred an entire gang. He could still remember the gruesome evidence laid in front of him when the authorities came to arrest Bear. If Dominic was a little less powerful — despite his dwindling influence at that time — Bear would serve time.
"Don't worry." Dominic cleared his throat after a moment. "I'll think of a way to resolve this, but I have to suspend him from his duties for the time being."
Heaven let out a deep exhale, looking at Dominic apologetically. "I guess that can't be helped. I'll knock some senses into him. You should take Bear with you as his replacement."
"Bear?" Dominic glanced at Bear and the latter nodded.
"I think that's the best solution at the moment," Bear said sternly. "I already planned to propose the idea."
"For my peace of mind." Heaven reached for her husband's hand, squeezing it mildly. "You can't lower your guard. We decided to make Tiger the captain because of his undeniable skills, despite his lazy nature. But Bear is just as capable as him."
"I know." Dominic sported a short smile before he cast Bear a look. "Then I'll be in your care for the time being, Mr. Cruel."
Bear lowered his head in approval while Heaven grinned. She darted her eyes between her husband and Bear, and then her eyes glanced at the other two with them.
"By the way." Heaven furrowed her brows as a thought crossed her mind. "Where's Fig? I haven't seen him in a while. Was he on vacation or what?"
"He's on vacation." Dominic jerked his chin, telling her to start eating.
"Oh? Where?"
"In the kitchen," Gray was the one who answered Heaven, dragging his feet to the table where Heaven and Dominic and sat in one of the chairs. "He's been Princess's partner and in charge of the security in the old residence. But he's in the kitchen all day — I'm worried."
Gray casually reached for a plate to eat, only to stop when he sensed everyone's gaze on him. "What?" he asked as he looked at everyone. "Do you mind if I eat?"
"No." Dominic shook his head. "Princess and Mr. Cruel should also join us."
"Gray, your habits are slowly showing. It's not that I mind, but people will wonder if you act too comfortable," Heaven reminded him nonchalantly. "Anyway, this sausage is really good. You should try it."
"Hehe. It's also my favorite. Whatever the masters eat, the servants also eat it." Gray chuckled as he happily continued to serve himself some food. Bear and Princess looked at each other and, at Heaven's insistence, they joined the couple for breakfast.
