[Bonus chapter]

[LYON GROUP: ART DEPARTMENT]0

"Do you guys understand?" Mr. Yang slammed his hands on the oval table, glossing his eyes on the people around the room. "We only got a month to prepare for the company's annual gathering."

"The higher-ups already know we're short-staffed." An employee complained quietly. "How can they ask us to do the preparations for the company's annual celebration?"

"Mr. Bo, this was already arranged last year. We should be glad that they asked the other departments to help us." Mr. Yang sighed, understanding the disappointment in his staff.

Their plates were already full as it was. All of them had to take double work every single day if they wanted to lessen their backlogs. If they don't, the coming work will pile up. However, the company's anniversary was a rotating thing where each department would be tasked with handling the preparations. Of course, they would be working with the CEO's staff during the entire time. The CEO's staff would do most of the work, but it was still mentally pressuring.

"Anyway, it's been three years since this department had done something on the side." Mr. Yang sighed, forcing a smile to encourage everyone. "Don't forget! We get an extra vacation bonus and leave if we do a good job."

Everyone looked at Mr. Yang, but none of them looked excited. Not because the rewards of helping the CEO's staff didn't excite them, but because they were all just tired for the day to even absorb that emotion.

"Come on, guys." Mr. Yang clapped weakly. "Cheer up!"

Mr. Yang tried to cheer all of them up until he just gave up. He ended the meeting after discussing the theme and how their department could contribute to this anniversary celebration. Once he stopped talking, everyone was dismissed.

"Goodness." Sitting all alone in the department's meeting room, Mr. Yang sighed. "I'm starting to lose hope that this department will ever recover. All the applicants recently weren't qualified enough or aren't mentally, emotionally, and physically ready."

Mr. Yang shook his head, arranging the papers in front of him. He could feel all the tiredness seep deep into his muscles, which the silence emphasized. Working for this company was an honor and Mr. Yang had seen himself working in this place until he retired.

Everything about the Lyon Group was satisfactory. The company paid their employees very well and the benefits everyone had were ten times better than other companies. However, because of that, the qualifications for getting into this company were high. This was also the reason there were only a few new employees who got into the art department all these months.

Mr. Yang carried the handful of papers in his hand as he exited the meeting room. Everyone almost left already. As he made his way to his open office, Mr. Yang stopped as he stretched his neck up.

'She's still here?'he murmured, seeing that Heaven was still at her desk. 'She's a little ridiculous, but I should admit she really works hard.'

He felt a little guilty, thinking he had always scolded Heaven. Although it was mostly the latter's fault, he still felt bad. Mr. Yang let out a deep exhale, advancing to Heaven's desk. As he approached, he caught a glimpse of the look plastered on Heaven's face.

'Huh?'Deep lines appeared between his brows, rubbing his eyes as he felt like he was seeing things. When he looked at Heaven again, the latter was already looking at him with a smile.

'I must be seeing things now,' he thought, telling himself the sharp and menacing look on her face was just a figment of his imagination. That look on her face sent a sense of dread down his spine, which was impossible now that he was looking at her wide smile.

"Mr. Yang, do you need anything?" Heaven's voice brought back Mr. Yang to his senses. She already stood from her chair, looking at him with raised brows.

"No, no." Mr. Yang cleared his throat and waved dismissively. "Why are you still here, Pepsi? Everyone is almost home."

"How can I go home when my superior is still here?" Heaven playfully remarked, earning a click of his tongue. "I'm kidding. I'll just finish these papers, then I'll go home."

Heaven picked up a handful of papers to show him what she was working on. Mr. Yang glanced at the papers for a second.

"Just do them tomorrow morning."

She shook her head. "It's fine, Mr. Yang. I'm also waiting for my husband, anyway."

"You're married?" He frowned, judging her entire existence. How could she drool over Dominic Zhu when she was already married? Surely, women nowadays are scary!

"Yes." Her lips stretched from ear to ear, displaying a sense of pride in her eyes. "He said he will pick me up, so while I'm waiting for him, I want to finish these papers. Besides, I don't want to wake up earlier just to finish the work."

Mr. Yang looked at her with slight surprise but then recovered quickly. She might look a little young, but she was at the age of starting a family.

"Well, if you say so, then I'll go home first."

"Aye, aye, captain!" Heaven diligently saluted. "Take care on your way home, Boss Yang!"

Mr. Yang looked at her strangely before he nodded. He waved dismissively and then walked back to his office to place the papers in his hand and go home.

Heaven remained standing as she watched Mr. Yang walk away. When the man got into his office, she sat down in front of her computer again. She waited for a little while before she heard Mr. Yang raise his voice, telling her goodbye.

"Bye~!" Heaven tilted her head to the side to look at Mr. Yang. The latter waved once as he stepped out of the department. Looking at his back, the smile on her face faded. She slowly faced the monitor in front of her, clicking a few times on the keyboard and mouse.

The revision documents on the screen disappeared, replaced by something else. The menacing look Mr. Yang caught on her face earlier returned, proving he wasn't just seeing things.

"Silas is surely amazing in his own way," she murmured, eyes drooping as she scanned the financial flow of the company. She tapped her finger against the desk, pondering on what would be her next move. Silas was quite a fickle man. It was hard to predict his next move.

'Dom already has his own plan,' she thought. 'But until now, I still don't know how to get this man where I'd benefit the most. Unless he makes his move.'
