Silas flinched when the blaring noise disrupted the silence in the underground parking. He turned his head and his eyes searched for someone who could've heard his conversation. It took him a few seconds to catch Axel standing behind the car while looking back at him with wide eyes. 

"This nosy bastard…" Silas hissed, as he immediately knew Axel had heard his conversation. It didn't matter if Axel heard the entire thing or just the snippet of it. The mere fact that Axel was here was enough for him to think of thoughts to shut his mouth. 

Meanwhile, Axel's entire body froze for a second. The moment he locked eyes with Silas, all the nerves in his body screamed at him to run. 

'I'm dead,' he told himself, staggering back to get away. 

"Axel Zhu." His breath hitched when Silas called his name while wearing that diabolical grin on his face. "You don't eavesdrop on people. That's not nice."

Silas shook his head before he ordered, "Get him. He can't get away or he'll run that damn mouth of his."

"No!" A surge of adrenaline exploded in Axel's chest, which streamed to the ends of his nerves. He turned around and found the strength to run to his car. 

'He'll kill me, he'll kill me! I can't die!'were the things Axel was screaming in his head as he sprinted to his car. He didn't dare look back, afraid that if he did, the person chasing after him was already close. 

When Axel reached his car, he immediately opened the door, only to realize it was locked. 

"Shit!" he immediately groped his body, finding where his keys were. On his way here, he was just tossing and catching his keys. However, now, he couldn't seem to find it. 

The horror in his heart intensified as his face turned pale at every second. He turned his head on instinct, only to see a man with a tattooed face taking huge steps in his direction. Silas was also jogging his way to him, making his heart almost leap out of his ribcage.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Axel continuously cursed in panic.

At this moment, his only fear was that he left his keys in the car where he had hidden. But when he heard something jiggle from his back pocket, his eyes lit up with hope. He wasted no time in fishing out the keys, almost smiling at the sight of them before unlocking his car with trembling hands. 

The people coming after him picked up their pace. Several steps from Axel, the latter managed to get into the driver's seat. 

"Hah!" Axel instinctively flinched when he heard a thud on his window. He turned his head and saw the person Silas was talking to earlier punch the window. 

"Aahh!!!" he screamed in panic, only to realize his car was bulletproof. It wouldn't just shatter with a single punch. A slight relief surged through his heart, knowing he was safe for now. 

"It's okay. I'm safe… I'm safe…" His voice was shaky and his hands were trembling. 

All he had to do was push the button to start his car, but somehow, he failed twice. But when he heard the engine, Axel didn't warm it up as usual. Instead, he stepped on the pedal without a care if the other person trying to open the driver's seat would get hurt. It was better to hurt them than him getting hurt! It was not like they would simply hurt or beat them up! They would kill him for sure!

The tires screeched, echoing in the underground parking space. The person who was trying to break into his car had to let it go as the car abruptly sped away. Meanwhile, Silas's jogs slowed down as he watched the car move from its parking space.

"That useless little thing…" Silas's face crumpled, teeth clenched at the thought of Axel getting away. "Hey! What are you doing?! Go after him!"

"Oh, god. Oh, god." Axel panted for air as he sped out of the parking space without looking back. All he wanted right now was to get away and go home, where he would be safe. He didn't even think of anything else at the moment, not even the fact he should rejoice that he could spoil Silas's plans and get him kicked out of the family. 

He just wanted to be safe right now. What he found out was big! Silas was not only planning diabolical for tomorrow's anniversary celebration, but he asked someone to kill Tiger! He wouldn't mistake what he heard. Axel heard it loud and clear. 

Even when Axel got out of the premises, he continuously drove away. He specifically used the highway where there were a lot of people. It took him some time to catch his breath and calm down a little. His body was still shaking, though. 

"Hah," he huffed, shaking his head to clear his head. "They wouldn't follow me, I guess?"

Despite that, Axel didn't feel complacent. Although he slowed down a bit to follow the speed limit, he still didn't stop. He kept his focus on the road, gripping the steering wheel tightly. 

"They're not following me, right?" Axel glanced at the rearview mirror to see if there was someone behind him. But alas, the moment he did, he almost choked on his own breath. It wasn't because a car was tailing him, but because a person was sitting quietly in the back seat. 

Axel's pupils slowly dilated as he held his breath, setting them ahead. He continued to maneuver the car, yet his heart was sinking and his colors draining. After a second, he felt a cold metal pressed against the back of his ear. The person in the backseat didn't say anything, but Axel already knew he had been caught even before he could run away. 

"Please." His face crumpled in fear, knowing he was now driving at gunpoint. His lips quivered as he forced his words out of his throat. "Don't kill me."
