Not him again
The day before the anniversary event was busier than ever as everyone was making final touches for tomorrow's perfection. Meaning, that Heaven had to stay overtime in the office while Dominic waited for her in his office. 2

"How was your day, master? Young madam?" Butler Fu welcomed the couple with a polite smile, taking Dominic's briefcase from him.
"Like usual," Dominic answered monotonously. "How's Grandma?"
"She's fine. She already resigned to bed after spending time with Mercy."
"And the children?"
"They're in the family room."
Dominic arched a brow and instinctively checked his wristwatch. Before he could say anything, Heaven tilted her head to the side.
"It's late," she said. "Why are they still in the family room?"
"The little master insisted on putting Miracle to sleep." Butler Fu almost chuckled at the thought while the couple smiled.
"Alright then." Dominic rocked his head and turned to Heaven. "Let's go?"
"Mhm."
With that being said, the couple cast Butler Fu a look before they made their way to the family room. This had been a new routine ever since Heaven started working in the company. However, it wasn't really new for Dominic since he would habitually ask the servant who would welcome him home about his family and the household the moment he came home.
As Heaven and Dominic marched away, she slowed down.
"By the way, Butler Fu." Heaven looked back at Butler Fu while Dominic cast his wife a curious look. "Is Axel home already?"
Butler Fu furrowed his brows and shook his head. "No, young madam. He left this morning, saying he would have lunch with you. He hadn't come home since then."
"I see." She rocked her head in understanding, looking back at Dominic as her husband asked a question.
"Why are you asking?"
"Nothing. I just felt bad that I couldn't give him time today when he specifically came to see me."
"It can't be helped." Dominic offered her a warm smile, brushing her cheek with the back of his fingers. "The company is busy for tomorrow's anniversary. I'm sure he'd understand."
"I just feel bad."
"Let's take him on a day out on our day off."
The corner of her mouth curled up into a smile as she nodded. "Sure. Let's do that. Let's go see the kids."
Butler Fu chuckled as he watched the couple walk away to see their children. His eyes softened, thinking that the couple truly cared for the second young master. At this point, Axel was like their oldest.
"I'm sure he'll be elated," he muttered before turning on his heel to take Dominic's briefcase in his home office.

As Dominic and Heaven approached the family room, Dominic felt his phone vibrate against his chest. He slipped his hand inside his suit and glanced at the screen to see who was contacting him at this hour.
"Hmm?" Heaven arched a brow as she slowed down to match her husband's pace. "You should take it if it's important."
Dominic lowered his phone as he looked back at her. "This will be quick," he said with a subtle smile.
"Don't feel bad," she humored, noticing the slight apologetic look in his eyes. "My husband is a busy man, so I can understand."
"Thanks."
Heaven let out a short chuckle with her lips closed, nodding at him approvingly. She watched Dominic look back at her before he walked away to take the call.
"He always feels sorry when he has to do more work, even when he comes home." She shook her head, not even wondering what the call was about. All she knew was that if Dominic had to take the call, that only meant it was important.
Heaven simply shrugged as she resumed her steps, reaching the family room where her children were waiting for her. As usual, Miriam, Princess, and Fig were with them. Seeing them in the family room, a wide smile turned up on her face.
"I'm home," she whispered with satisfaction, knowing she was now home. A place where her heart felt the happiest.
"Welcome home, Mommy~!" Sebastian's adorable, welcoming voice warmed up her heart. And, like usual, she rushed to him to give him a tight hug and shower him with kisses.
Princess, Fig, and Miriam watched her with warm smiles on their faces. They should have been used to this warm sight they had been seeing every day, but they couldn't help but warm up every time.

Meanwhile…
Axel breathed out heavily through his parted lips. His head was throbbing with pain, wincing while enduring the pain. He tried moving, but to no avail. He glanced down, only to see the ropes around his body that tied him securely in this wooden chair.
Earlier today, the man who got him at gunpoint told him to drive to a desolate place. Afraid the man would shoot him, Axel did as instructed without making a fuss. When he pulled over in a place where no person could be seen, the bad guy knocked him out with the help of the weight of the pistol. When he woke up, he was already in an unknown place, tied up.
'Am I going to die tonight?'
A thought crossed his mind, making his face turn sour at the thought. Axel clenched his teeth and wiggled, but the way the rope was tied was so secure it wouldn't loosen, no matter how he struggled.
'That damn Silas.' He hissed, squinting his eyes when some light penetrated the space he was in. He kept one eye shut while the other squinted, seeing a few silhouettes approach. 'Is that Silas?'
Not long after, Axel figured Silas wasn't with the group who came in. However, he recognized them. He would never mistake them. No matter how much he would try to forget these faces, he would never. Axel glanced at the multiple figures who appeared in this small room where he was held hostage, figuring out the group was missing a few members.
"So, I wasn't wrong, huh?" Axel hissed at the men who came. These were the same men who bullied him over a year ago. The same people Heaven sent to the hospital during that eventful drag race.
The men — the three of them — just looked at Axel with a sour expression. They didn't say anything as they looked at each other.
"Not him again."
