[Bonus chapter]Strong independent woman

Ivy ignored Tiger even when the man lamented about it. She just drank continuously, drowning her sorrow and annoyance at the same time. However, it didn't seem the drinks were making her drunk. It had no effect at all until she reached her fifth glass.  0

"Ey, that's enough." This time, Tiger reached for the bottom of her glass to stop her from emptying the already empty glass. "You've had enough, Miss Wei."

Ivy turned her head slowly, revealing her almost beet-red face. "I say I had enough if I say I have enough," she argued and then hiccuped.

"Tsk. If you drink more and stay stubborn, I'll throw you in the middle of the street."

She frowned, not doubting him. This man kicked out Dane in the middle of the highway. If he could do it to his superior, then he would definitely do it to her.

"You're scary, Tiger," she murmured, letting him put down her glass. "Didn't you say you are a gentleman?"

"I am being gentle. If you're a man, I would've let you drink and watch you drag yourself out of this place, wasted. I'll even record it."

"That's cruelty."

"That's why I said I'm already being gentle." He shrugged.

Ivy looked at him, hiccuping again. "Are you doing this because I'm an important associate in the company?"

"Huh?"

"Mr. Zhang used to say his care for me is because I am Dominic's business partner and that the Wei Family has been doing business with the Zhu family. So naturally, he takes care of me as part of his job," she explained in between her hiccups. "Is that also the reason you are here?"

"I'm here because you called."

"I know, but what I mean is —"

"My actions come from my own decision. Although I applaud Mr. Zhang for doing so much for the company, once I clock out, I don't think about it. It doesn't even cross me." Tiger interrupted her mid-sentence, not needing a more elaborate explanation from her. "Please, Miss Wei. You're just someone I know right now. Your connection with the Zhu family or the Lyon Group doesn't come into play here."

"Oh."

"Now, let's go. I'm going to take you home."

Ivy blinked and stared at him, sporting a short smile, and nodded. She assisted herself to stand up, only to wobble as she didn't realize the effects of alcohol were this much. Tiger was right. She had drunk quite a lot tonight.

"Man, see?" She slowly looked up at him, seeing him hold her arms so she wouldn't fall. "You should listen to the big brother."

"Since when… did you become my big brother?"

"Since tonight."

She frowned. "I don't want you to be my brother." A short, ridiculing laugh slipped past her lips, gripping his arm as she mustered her strength to stay on her feet on her own.

"The last time a person used that word to me just exploited me to the bones. So I don't like the word," she whispered, pushing his hands away when she thought she could go on her own. "I'd rather be all alone in this world than be brought down by the people who claim to be my family."

"Your family is shit, then."

"I know." She laughed, took a step forward, and swayed to the side. Ivy instinctively held onto the stool to keep herself from falling. She turned her head to him and said, "I'm okay. I can go."

Tiger raised both his hands on either side of him. "I'm not saying you can't." He didn't even do anything to help her after that first one. He just watched Ivy struggle to walk in a straight line, holding on to the stools within her reach.

Tiger didn't follow and simply stood in the same spot. His eyes, however, followed the lady trying to appear strong, when it was obvious she would trip if she had nothing to cling to.

"What a stubborn lady," he murmured with a sigh. "This is the problem with women who claim to be a strong independent one. They think they shouldn't ask for help. Look at her. She can barely stay still."

He shook his head and sighed for the second time. Surely, women like Ivy were truly the types to be taken care of. She's a princess type. No matter how intimidating she appeared at first glance, she was nothing close to the women Tiger knew in his life. Those women in his life were more manly than the guys he knew. Not only they could hold their alcohol well, but they could be left off in a forest full of monsters and they would come out alive.

It would be a mistake for him to take Ivy Wei in the same category. Not in a bad way, though.

"Damn it." He clicked his tongue, taking large steps toward the swaying lady ahead of him. Without saying a word, he reached for Ivy's hand and guided it over his shoulder. He bent his knees a little lower, taking her off guard as he wrapped his other arm around her legs.

Ivy let out a short squeal of surprise, almost becoming sober as her feet left the ground. Her eyes grew wide, hiccuping and holding her breath. She gazed to the side, blinking, shocked as her abdomen rested on his shoulder as he carried her like a sack of rice.

"What are you doing?" she asked, almost gasping. "Put me down!"

Tiger looked at her languidly. "If I do, it'll take us forever to even reach the entrance. I don't want to spend my night in here, you know?"

"Tiger!"

"Don't be shy," he said indifferently, taking steps away from their spot. "It's okay. I don't mind."

"But I do!" Ivy struggled for a bit, but he held her feet securely with his arm. She weakly punched his back, embarrassed by the way she was being carried out but to no avail.

"Hey!" she called, stopping from her unnecessary activities to free herself from this embarrassment.

"I'll put you down once we reach my car." His voice lacked interest, and he crossed the exit nonchalantly.

"That's not — I feel dizzy." Ivy hunched in, covering her mouth as she felt her vision shake. Tiger stopped when he heard that, but it was already too late as he felt something hot on his back.

"Motherfucker."

All the expression on his face instantly died, guessing she had already thrown up even before he could put her down.
