[Bonus chapter]Please don’t die just like me.
Helping out of the goodness of his heart had always put Tiger in strange situations. For instance, he just wanted to help Ivy get in the car much faster. But now, his back was drenched with nasty fluid. What luck!0
Tiger put down Ivy to let her throw up on the side of the establishment. His face screamed with annoyance, holding his blazer before him.
"I…" he clicked his tongue, glaring daggers at the woman throwing up on the side. "Miss Wei, pay for this! This is the first suit I bought for myself, you know!?"
Nothing. He didn't know if she heard him, as she was too busy throwing up all the alcohol in her system.
"Damn it!" he set his sour face to the blazer he was holding. "I don't think I had done my laundry. I hope Fig did the laundry and took mine to clean."
Although Tiger often looked unhygienic, this was enough to disgust him. He would never wear this one. He wouldn't even wear clothes that were spilled with blood, thinking it would give him back luck.
"Shit." He sighed and put down the blazer, holding the clean side of it. He turned his attention to Ivy, frowning. "Aren't you done yet?"
Still nothing.
Ivy had her hands on the wall, hunching in. Her back was moving as she gagged. When his eyes fell on the ground, he scrunched his nose up in dismay. There was even some of the nasty fluid on her toe.
"What a piece of work," he grumbled, ruffling his hair in irritation. He then made his way to her, standing at her side. "Are you done now?"
"No!" Ivy forced a word out of her mouth. "I still feel —" she couldn't finish her sentence as she gagged again.
Tiger frowned as he gazed down. Some of the fluid splashed on his shoes, but at least he didn't feel it. Another sigh slipped past his nostrils, raising his hand to stroke her back.
"Good lord," he remarked with a trace of dismay. "There, there. I hope you learn your lesson now."
The irritation he felt gradually disappeared, thinking he couldn't turn back time. It was just a piece of fabric and he could buy a new one. He could also just shower and scrub his skin for hours if he wanted to. So, there was no point in getting angry over it anymore. After all, if there was suffering more, that was this woman. This could be considered her punishment already.
Tiger rubbed her back without saying a word until she felt better. Ivy let out a short huff, pushing herself away from the wall to face him.
"I'm sorry about that," she apologized, clearing her drying throat. "I'll pay for it."
"Yes, you should." Tiger tossed the blazer over the vomit to hide it. "Are you feeling much better now?"
"Yes. A bit." She smiled a little. "Thanks."
He rocked his head and raised a brow. "Can you walk on your own?"
"Yes… I think."
"Asking for help doesn't make you weak, you know? I know you're a strong, independent woman. You've spent many years of hard work to prove that." He snapped his tongue and offered his arm. "Just hold."
Ivy looked at him for a moment, pursing her lips into a thin line. "Very well. Thanks," she whispered as she reached for his arm. "I really appreciate what you said."
His only response was an indifferent shrug. But just as he took a step, he felt his phone from his back pocket vibrate. He looked at Ivy while his other hand went to his pocket.
"Give me a second," he said before answering the call without even checking.
Ivy kept quiet but clung to his arm to support herself. She glanced up at him, raising her brows as she wondered what he was listening to.
"Huh." Tiger rocked his head while holding the phone in front of his ear. He glanced at the lady beside him, making her tilt her head to the side. "I see. I'm currently in the middle of taking a lady home."
After saying that, Tiger listened to the person from the other end of the line in silence. His expression was the same, calm and nonchalant.
"Alright. Got it," was all he said with a nod, ending the call and putting the phone back into his back pocket.
"Is it work?" After the call, Ivy couldn't help but inquire. "If you are needed somewhere, then I can just take a taxi."
"It's okay, Miss Wei. It can wait."
"Are you sure?" she furrowed her brows, suspicious. "It sounds like one."
Tiger smiled a bit, which didn't reach his eyes. "It's important, but it can wait."
Ivy pursed her lips into a thin line, studying the look he was making. From the tone of the person, it sounded urgent, but Tiger didn't show any sign of urgency. If it couldn't wait, then she believed he would've just hailed her a cab.
"Alright," she whispered. "I'm just saying, but if you say it can wait, then I believe you."
"Hehe." He chuckled, ushering her to the parking space patiently. He kept his eyes on her, but when he blinked away, a menacing glint flickered across his eyes.

Meanwhile…
"Ugh…" Axel grunted, wincing as he regained consciousness. He moved his free arms and feet, barely opening his swollen eyes. He wasn't tied anymore, but his entire body was in pain from the merciless beating he received.
"Hah." Using his remaining energy, Axel rolled to his side to lie on his back. His body heavily thud as his back collapsed on the concrete ground where he passed out. "Hah."
Another deep breath escaped his mangled lips, staring at the high ceiling. At his moment, his entire face was swollen and he could barely open his eyes. His entire body was hurting, almost paralyzed on the floor.
"You're all dead," he whispered with all the remaining strength he got. "They won't forgive you all for this."
Silas was no longer around to hear his weak warnings. The only people who were left behind were the rogues who beat him up over a year ago. They looked at each other and sighed, setting their eyes back on the half-dead, half-alive Axel Zhu.
"He said we're going to throw you in acid tonight," said the bald guy to Axel, telling him how they usually dispose of bodies to hide any traces of their crimes. "You shouldn't have woken up because now, you'll be disintegrated alive."
The man glanced at another man, tipping his head to the side. "Take him or we'll be in trouble if we don't finish the job."
"Hah." Axel could only let out a short sound, unable to fight back. All he could do was watch two guys hold each of his arms and rest it on their shoulders. They dragged him out of the place where he was held captive and in no time, Axel saw a huge industrial tank, which he thought would be his grave.
Axel had no strength to make a fuss about it. They've beaten him to the point he was half-dead. Thus, he could only stare at the tank while his heart sank. He would die tonight.
'Mom… Dad, Basti, Miracle, Grandma, Sis… and Brother.' A thin layer of tears coated his eyes behind his swollen and wounded eyelids. 'Please don't die just like me.'
