The time for the anniversary event rolled in without conditions. Each year, everyone from top to bottom of the hierarchy would be dressed with their best attires. After all, it was the only time they could be with their big bosses. The event offered more than just the opportunity to stupidly approach them, which most people lacked the courage to do. 

Aside from the nice food and drinks, there would be recognition awards. To make it even better, there were some rewards, like cash or free vacation trips and many more. Therefore, every year, the venue was packed with thousands of employees. It could be considered one of the biggest events the company would fund every year. 

"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the LYON Group's annual celebration for its…" The host of tonight's event livened up the mood with his joyous voice.

The cheers and chattering didn't volume down, adding to the liveliness of the venue. They mostly ignored the host, as it was just a welcoming remark. Many were still coming in, groups from each department joyfully took pictures of their outfits, while some of the big shots greeted and chatted with each other. 

"Mr. Zhu!" a middle-aged man yelled, earning Dominic's attention and a few men with him. The middle-aged man spread his slightly chubby arms in the air, chuckling as he approached. 

"Senator." Dominic smiled as he lowered his head a little, gazing at the man who approached them. "Senator, I'm honored that you accepted my invitation."

"It is my first time to be invited to this auspicious occasion the Lyon Group hosts every year. So how dare I miss my first invitation?" the senator humored heartily, warranting a short chuckle from Dominic. 

"Anyway, Senator, this is…" Dominic wasted no time to introduce the senator to the person whom he was talking to initially. Both men greeted each other and just hearing their names, they already had a general idea of each other. 

Standing as a bridge and introducing people to one another was not something new to Dominic. He had gone to many gatherings in the past. Although most of the gatherings he had attended, he wasn't doing the introduction, this had been one of his duties during the anniversary of the Lyon Group. 

In the past, however, he didn't need to do much. After all, most of his connections already knew each other. It was just that last year was such an eventful year. Dominic cut ties with many people and gained new ones. In other words, most of the people he invited barely knew each other, or they knew each other but didn't have the opportunity to make acquaintances. 

If the employees were busy enjoying what was there to enjoy, the big shots were busy trying to build their connections. Dominic was the best bridge there was in the country. Therefore, many of his invites arrived one after another. 

"I am really honored you came." This time, Dominic welcomed another guess. He was quite old, almost in his sixties. 

The man was a foreigner and the men with Dominic couldn't help but look at each other. They gazed at this newcomer curiously, wondering who he might be. For sure, they hadn't seen him anywhere, whether in the tricky politics or the complicated world of business. Though most of them leaned more toward the thought he was a foreign investor or something. 

"With all the efforts you made, I will not be human if I don't accept your invitation." The foreign man smiled back at Dominic as he gripped the latter's hand tightly. When they released each other's hand, Dominic faced his other guest to introduce the man to them. 

When they heard who he was, they couldn't hide their surprise. 

Who did he say this man was?

"You, Sir. Wow!" The senator immediately offered his hand. "I didn't know you're the chief of the central intelligence. What a surprise, Mr. Zhu! I didn't think you'd be able to invite such a man here."

He then looked back at the foreign man sincerely. "It's really an honor to meet you here, Sir. I heard a lot of good things about you."

"I'm not good with flatteries, but I am also pleased to meet such important men at this event." The foreign man smiled back, before casting Dominic a look. "Is the President of… coming?" 

When they heard the foreigner's question, most of Dominic's important guests looked at him with surprise. What? Did they just hear a president of another foreign country coming? Everyone looked at Dominic with surprise while listening to his answer. When Dominic said he was 'hopeful,' they looked at each other. 

Now that they thought about it, most of Dominic's guests at the moment were mostly politicians. There were a few who were in the business field, but the majority were politicians. 

"Anyway, shall I take you to your seats?" Dominic's voice brought everyone back from their trance. "The event is about to start soon."

"Of course!" 

With that being said, everyone followed Dominic. Their group doubled since the Senator arrived. As he ushered them to the VIP section, the old foreigner glanced at the corner. There were a lot of people in the venue and if one stared at them, the numbers would make them dizzy. But alas, that wasn't enough for the man to feel someone had been staring at him from the corner. 

Bear was standing in the corner of the venue, eyes on Dominic. When he moved his eyes, he caught the foreigner looking in his direction for a moment. 

'It's so nice to see you too…' Bear whispered inwardly, watching the man follow Dominic as he looked away. 'Wolf.'

Meanwhile, as everyone was busy doing their own thing, Heaven was leaning against the wall in the corner. She was holding a glass of champagne in one hand and a mask in the other. Tonight's theme was a masquerade, but most of them hadn't worn their mask. 

"So he did come," she whispered, staring at Dominic and then at the foreign man within the group. "It's so nice to see him again. He looks quite older, though."

Heaven peeled her gaze from her husband's group and then glossed her eyes over the people around the venue. The venue was already big, but the attendees of tonight's event made it appear a little smaller. If they chose another venue that was smaller than this place, she was certain they wouldn't have a space to move. 

'I guess the Wei family built this place for such occasions alone,' she thought, knowing there were more function halls in this place, which she was certain was also packed. 

"What are you doing here?"

Heaven arched a brow when she heard a familiar voice approaching. She turned her head, cocking it back a little at the sight of the man who found her in this sea of people.
