Please tell me, do you know the woman named Hera Cruel?
"Though I don't know what Primo Rossi felt or believed, I granted his name to live such a lavish life full of fun!" The corner of Primo's mouth stretched from ear to ear. "Also, I like having to live people's lives. So, there's that."1
Sickening.
Although Grandma Zhu didn't feel a shred of pity for how her son's life turned out and how he died, hearing this young man spew a bunch of nonsense was sickening. How could this young man laugh while telling stories of how he killed a man just based on assumptions alone?
This only showed his twisted character. Talking sense into him and thinking he would understand logical reasoning was foolish. This man just did what he wanted, and that was now clear to Grandma Zhu.
"Based on everything you said, I believe you initially planned to assume my grandson's identity," she said, and Primo clapped once.
"Bull's eye!" Primo pointed at her after the clap. "Old Madam Zhu, even with your age, I'm really amazed at how sharp you are!"
"Had you always planned to kill the Zhu family?" she raised a follow-up question. "You cannot live as Dominic, knowing his family was alive. You look nothing like him."
"Well, about that…" Primo trailed off as he hummed a long tune. "I can't fully say I want to kill everyone in the family. After all, people tend to turn a blind eye to things just to not get in trouble. For instance, the cartel Primo Rossi led deluded themselves he's still alive. Although those who were whole-heartedly devoted to their masters joined him right after, not many were loyal enough to want the same fate."
"So, you're saying?"
"I'm saying if calling me Primo Rossi will extend their lives, then so be it," he answered in simple terms. "It doesn't really matter, you know? They're my people now. Whatever name I go by."
Hearing his simple answer couldn't help but make Grandma Zhu laugh. "You think the Zhu family is the same?"
"I'm not saying that per se… but you can think like that." Primo shrugged nonchalantly. "I mean, I'm okay with either way. The decision is always yours to make, whether you want to live longer or die."
"You are living a life full of lies, young man." Grandma Zhu spat out, shaking her head in disbelief. "I've never met such a man in my life."
"Well, now you have!" Primo grinned from ear to ear, proud to be the first person who was as twisted as him to meet the Old Madam Zhu. "I am deeply honored, Old Madam Zhu."
This time, Grandma Zhu didn't respond. Her face simply darkened, clasping the end of the armrest. She then glanced to the side where Butler Fu stood, but the man had never left his spot since earlier.
How could he? One wrong move and the people surrounding him with their guns aimed at him would leave a hole in his body.
"Sorry, Butler Fu." Seeing that Grandma Zhu glanced at her loyal butler, Primo clicked his tongue. "I heard you were a legendary hitman in your prime. Therefore, I can't lower my guard. Even though you're already quite old and are surely suffering from back pain as part of aging, I can't take risks."
He pressed his lips with the corners curled up into a forced smile, setting his attention to Grandma Zhu as the old Madam looked back at him. "Blame that Bernard Gambone for this. That man aged like a don. Right. You don't know that name. Mr. Cruel then."
"Haha." His eyes swirled with amusement, wiggling his brows playfully. "You know that name, do you? Bear Cruel… now, I wonder how that man became a part of this family? I mean, Old Madam Zhu, I'm sure you know that family name."
Primo lowered his head slightly with his eyes up. "You used to be one of the biggest clients of the Cruel family, isn't that correct? Old Madam Zhu? Is that the reason that man is now working for your family? Just like that old butler over there?"
"I don't know what you are talking about," Grandma Zhu huffed. "But what I do know is that I need to take my medicines. It's about time for that."
"What's the point?" Primo cocked his head to the side. "You're going to die tonight, anyway."
"My grandson is still alive, young man." Grandma Zhu stressed. "You might've gotten Axel, but Dominic… will not sit still. I believe in him."
"Aww. Isn't that touching? How nice would it be to have a grandmother like you?"
"And even if Dominic ends up falling into this well-devised plan, you will never be my grandson." Grandma Zhu let out a scoff. "You will never get to experience to be one of my grandsons. I'd rather die. I'm old, anyway, and if it's fate, then I'd accept it with open arms."
"That…" Primo frowned. "That's harsh! But well, since I like you and I still want to know what you know about the Cruel family, then I'll let you live a little longer."
He offered a smile, nodding at Grandma Zhu reassuringly. He then cast the men surrounding Butler Fu a look.
"Where's the medicine, Butler? It's time for Grandma to take her medicine." His smile stretched while Butler Fu's expression remained the same, plain and cold. "Take it from him."
"Hands in the air!" One man standing beside Butler Fu took a large step toward him, watching Butler Fu raise his hands before going through his suit pockets. To make sure the old butler wouldn't do anything silly, two men moved closer and pressed their guns on his temples.
When the man took out a small container of medicines, he faced Primo and Grandma Zhu's direction.
"Is that it?" Primo asked, casting Grandma Zhu a look.
"How would I know? That's not my job."
"Yes." Butler Fu chimed in with a stern voice. "She must take everything in that container."
"Very well." Primo smacked his lips, motioning his hand to his men to give it to him. He then signaled the other man to give her a glass of water.
Pouring the medicines in his hand that was wearing a glove, Primo looked at Grandma Zhu with a slight smile. He stood from his seat and then moved closer to her.
"It'll take time for everyone to get out of this place, Grandma." His smile turned gentle, but the vibe it gave off was creepy. He reached for Grandma Zhu's wrist, twisting it until her palms her up. He placed the medicines on her palm, looking at her straight in the eye.
"So, let's chat more. Please tell me, do you know the woman named Hera Cruel?"
