I'm innocent
Dominic slowly rose from his seat as soon as Grandma Zhu, Butler Fu, and the person wheeling his grandmother approached. He stood tall in his height, eyes on his grandmother to see if she was alright. Looking at the grumpy look of the old madam, Dominic heaved a sigh of relief. 1
'She's fine,' he told himself before snapping his eyes at the man behind the wheelchair. "You look familiar."
"Am I?" The man, Primo, cocked his head to the side, smiling. "Well, that's an honor."
In the past, both men couldn't remember having direct contact with each other. Primo was careful enough not to directly approach Dominic before the time came. Tonight was that time.
"Ah." Dominic rocked his head in understanding. "You are that… person."
"That person?"
"The owner of Rossi winery, I believe."
"Ah." A short laugh escaped Primo's mouth as he nodded. "Well, that's a surprise. I thought you'd know about me because of something else."
"I already know you're the man who is after me, No One," Dominic replied monotonously. "But I'm a bit surprised that the rising entrepreneur is actually you."
"You won't be surprised if your wife tattled."
Dominic forced a smile, keeping himself calm and collected. He couldn't just deal with this person with his emotions. He couldn't make that mistake, knowing this man would use his emotions against him.
"I assumed she didn't? Well, that sucks." Primo shrugged playfully. "Or maybe you just ignored your wife, thinking they were unnecessary blubber."
"I listen to my wife. Though I probably missed it."
Primo let out a chuckle, lips closed. "Whatever you say, Mr. Zhu."
"Once I get a confirmation that my guests were out of this place…"
"You're mine." Primo finished Dominic's sentence with a smile. "Or rather, I'll give you to someone whose life goal is to end you."
He sported a conflicted look as he added, "You don't really interest me now, Mr. Zhu. A year ago, yes. But now? Well, I'm just doing it for the sake of my severed arm."
Dominic shifted his eyes to Primo's hand as the latter raised it. The latter wiggled his fingers, which were hidden in the glove.
"I didn't do that," said Dominic as he looked back at Primo.
"Yes, you didn't." Primo smiled. "But I heard the man who did this to me is now working for you."
"With me, yes," Dominic corrected cooly. "Though I can confidently say that's your fault. In your conquest to bury me alive along with your competition, the Red Scorpion, you forgot that you had another competent enemy thirsting to end your life."
Dominic tilted his head a little to the side while he shoved his hands inside his pockets. "You lost an arm because you're incompetent, Mr. Rossi… or shall I call you No One?"
"I go by many names — People can even call me Dominic Zhu if I want." Primo smiled until his eyes were squinting. "I'm a bit amused that even with this situation, you still have the nerve to taunt me. Your brother is already dead, you and your people are trapped in here, and…"
He trailed off as he raised his brows, smirking before he could even say his next words. "And you don't even know whether or not your children are safe. Mr. Zhu, whenever I think of exterminating someone, I'm not so heartless to send a person to hell all alone. If you know what I mean."
The cool front Dominic was showing disappeared in an instant at the mention of his children. His calm eyes sharpened, making Primo laugh out loud. Meanwhile, Grandma and Butler Fu's expressions turned even darker. However, they didn't say anything.
They already knew about the children and Lionel and Ria's possible situation. Primo kept bragging about it earlier, after all. However, that wasn't what truly miffed them.
The real reason this situation angered them more was because…
"Oh, there's the man!" After a second, Primo clapped joyfully as he caught a person entering the dim and large hall. His shift of attention made everyone turn their heads on instinct.
"Silas," Dominic hissed the moment he caught his cousin's figure, watching the man approach their vantage point. When Silas stopped a few meters from them, he continued. "You're also in this?"
Silas set his eyes on his cousin before the corner of his lips curled up into a malicious smirk. "Why do you look so surprised, cousin?"
"Didn't you say you've changed?" Dominic's voice rumbled down his chest, balling his hands into a tight fist. "How can you connive with this man who wants to kill not just me, but the entire Zhu family?"
"For your information, I wasn't the one who lured them into this plot." Primo rolled his eyes as he corrected Dominic. "To be fair, how I got to know Mr. Zhu is because of him!"
"What?"
"Oh, Dominic Zhu. You might be a well-known personality, but it's not enough to reach my radar. I mean, in comparison to the people I've set my eyes on, you're too… I'm not saying you're nothing, per se. But rather, you're too low profile for me to even know your existence." Primo shook his head and sighed. "Your cousin was the person who gave me the idea, telling me that you are successful and powerful and that even if you die, your wife won't probably care."
Thinking of Silas's remarks in the past, Primo couldn't help but frown. He glared at Silas as he just remembered this important detail in the past.
"Obviously, he lied about the last part. Now that makes me angry." He clicked his tongue, deciding he would let that pass since their goal was within their reach. "Anyway, I'm innocent! The only reason we are all in here is because of your look-alike. He's the man who killed Axel, by the way. I just sent someone to assist him, but he did all the work."
Primo took a deliberate pause as his gaze slowly veered to the person next to Dominic. "All I want is my new grandma and that Grandpa over there. Hello there, Wolf, it's been a while. What a surprise to see you here, when I thought I killed you. Surely, you're a motherfucking son of the devil. How did you survive?"
