[Bonus chapter] You are evil

"You think doing this will make your mother proud? Well done, Silas. You've wasted all her efforts in giving you a better life and for you to not become like that monster who killed her — the same person who tried to kill an eight-year-old boy."2

Silas and Dominic held each other's gazes with one bearing a cold expression and the other with a look of denial.

"You're lying." Silas shook his head in denial. "She isn't that foolish —"

"Do you really think Grandma will not punish that man for what he had done to your mother, to the family, and to her grandsons?!" This time, Dominic raised his voice for the first time. "Wake up, Silas. We both cannot forgive that man. That man made my life a living hell, making me believe I'm not safe even in the comfort of my own home. I've kept thinking he would be back to finish the job — you're not the only person that man betrayed, Silas."

Dominic's fist trembled in anger, trying to knock some senses into this foolish man. "But for your mother, I had to set my feelings aside as the eldest, thinking you've already lived a tough life. You already lost your father while he was still alive, and then you had to stay with your mother's lifeless body overnight."

"And now, you're telling me you murdered my brother because you think your mother didn't get justice?" His voice shook while grinding his teeth. "Silas, if there is someone who should be angry for not getting any justice, that should be me. Because of your mother's wishes to give you a better chance in life, I had to live my life in fear."

"I should be the person who should be angry, not you." He shook his head mildly while keeping his eyes on Silas. "Yet I chose to let it go and move on. I chose to forgive you and give you another chance, hoping you've already got yourself together. You are a fool and a big disappointment."

Again, Silas and Dominic held each other's gazes in quietness. Dominic's voice was still echoing as the silence tried to replace it.

Primo whistled playfully, wiping his forehead lightly at the exchange that unfolded right before his eyes. "What a family drama!" he commented. "So you're saying all this time, everything is just a mere misunderstanding?! Oh, come on! Silas, how could you!? Your family simply wants to protect you, but this is how you repay them?! What a disgusting human being you are!"

"Shut up, Alex." Wolf chimed in as he dragged the last bit of his cigarette. "If there's anyone who is the most disgusting here, that would be you."

Primo frowned. "That is offensive, Wolf."

"Silas, you know your mother more than any of us in here," Dominic ignored the side comments around him, keeping his focus on his foolish cousin. "Deep down, you know how foolish and stubborn Aunt Olivia can be. That wish of hers is surely something only she would do for her son."

"No." Silas denied, shaking his head, not accepting everything that Dominic spewed. "That's bullshit."

There was no way Silas would believe that. Even though deep down, he knew his mother was capable of making such a stupid wish; he didn't want to believe it. If Silas believed everything Dominic spewed, then he would need to question everything he had done.

Silas couldn't afford the second-guessing. He couldn't afford to regret or believe that he was wrong. Because if he did… then what was the point? What was the point of murdering Axel? What was the point of him working so hard and even colluding with a psycho like Primo to bring down the Zhu family? Above all, what was the point of tonight's plans if he started questioning himself?

Silas was already too deep in this situation. Blood was already spilled, and a life was already taken. He couldn't stop now because if he did, then… not only he would lose, but his life wouldn't make any sense anymore.

"For me, it makes a lot of sense." Instead of supporting Silas's twisted mind, Primo shook his head. "I don't know your mom, but my brief time with my grandma is enough for me to say she isn't the type to forgive people. I bet she was hell to those around her, but she's a lot stricter to her family."

Primo took a deliberate pause, looking at Silas apologetically. "Sorry, Partner. Denying it is just crazy! That's fucked up."

"Can you please shut the fuck up?!" Silas snapped at Primo, making the latter jolt in surprise. "No One, you're not helping."

"Oops. Sorry." Primo raised his hands on either side of him. "I didn't say I'm trying to help, though. I just feel sorry for Grandma. I mean, she's going to lose her family because of a long misunderstanding!"

"Misunderstanding or not, that changes nothing." Silas huffed as he recomposed himself, casting Grandma Zhu a look, and then shifted his attention to Dominic. He shook his head mildly once again, forcing a sneer on his face. "I'll just say that I'm just really born rotten like everyone else, for killing this entire family for no damn reason."

Primo assessed Silas's side profile, lips closed. His brows rose before the corner of his shut lips hooked up.

"Well, you're evil," he remarked, moving his eyes to Wolf and then to Dominic. "And I like evil. Too bad, Mr. Zhu. I think you just wasted everyone's time, and you wasted your voice trying to clarify that misunderstanding. Your cousin is rotten to the bones. He won't change."

Dominic's face turned darker as he lowered his head a bit. Even Grandma Zhu had no words for Silas anymore, casting her eyes down to hide her disappointment.

"Anyway, I'm taking Madam Zhu with me." Primo smacked his lips as he cast some of the armed men a look. "Drag that old fuck as well. Be careful though, he bites."

When the armed men nodded and approached Wolf, Primo set his attention back to Silas. "So, partner, I'll leave them with you, yeah? I'm calling it a night and congratulations on attaining your life's goal."

With that being said, Primo wheeled Grandma Zhu around. Butler Fu tried to move, but the guns around his head pressed against his head. As Primo was about to leave, Silas spoke while keeping his eyes on Dominic.

"By the way, Primo. I've sent you a gift," said Silas, making Primo pause from his steps. "It's a thank you gift — you can call it a congratulatory gift as well."
