"By the way, Primo. I've sent you a gift. It's a thank you gift — you can call it a congratulatory gift as well."2

Deep lines appeared between Primo's brows, looking back at Silas's vantage point. His lips curved down, thinking Silas had a bit of a strange taste when it came to gifts. But Silas didn't say anything to Primo anymore as he gave his undivided attention to his cousin. 

"Dominic, I understand your sentiments, but I'm not sorry for it," Silas expressed airily. "We've already reached this point. A point of no return and I cannot undo everything. So, even if you're telling the truth and not just trying to change my mind, it's already several years late."

The corner of Silas's mouth hooked up as a glint flickered across his eyes. He slowly raised his hand, signaling the masked men to stay on standby. Tonight would be a massacre. Everyone in here, aside from Primo, Silas, and their men would die. 

Just as Silas raised a hand, everyone cocked their weapons. They held it in position, aiming at the people they had taken hostage. They simply waited for the green signal to shoot every single one of these people. 

Dominic stood still, unmoving. Wolf, on the other hand, didn't retaliate as two men had them at gunpoint, telling him to follow Primo. Bear and Tiger also did nothing, but despite the multiple guns aimed at them, their eyes were also in the VIP section.

Time seemed to slow down as silence reigned in this large hall after the last echo of the weapons being cocked. Many among the people taken hostage held their breaths, counting down in their heads with their eyes shut. 

They would all die tonight.

With all the armed men in this place, and then all the people they had taken captive were unarmed, they couldn't think of anything to turn this situation around. They could retaliate once shots were fired, but there was no shadow of doubt bullets were faster than their feet. 

What were they going to do now?

"Cousin, I just want to say… I've always admired you from then until now," Silas remarked as if it was his parting words before Dominic's untimely death. "However, my mother never rests. She's always with me even until now…"

Silas slowly veered his eyes to the corner, lifting his gaze at the person hanging in the corner of the hall. His glinting eyes slowly softened at the sight he kept seeing all his life. The nightmare that followed him even in his sleep. 

"Mom…" a slight smile appeared on his face. "... you can finally rest tonight."

Dominic looked back at Silas, knowing the latter wasn't looking back at him, but somewhere else. Out of curiosity, Dominic turned his head to see where Silas was looking. Nothing. There was nothing in there, but by the looks of it, Silas seemed to see something no one else could.

'So that's your nightmare…' Dominic drew a deep breath, looking back at Silas. "I think that memory follows you to remind you how you will end up if you don't stop."

"What do you know?" Silas snapped at Dominic. "You're already dead, and yet you still don't know how to act in this situation!"

"Silas, Aunt Olivia is surely very disappointed."

Silas ground his teeth, keeping his hands up while glaring at Dominic. "I should say the same to you, Dom. Your children must be very disappointed in you. After all, it's your fault that they will die tonight. Don't worry. Their grandparents will be with them, and then their father will follow not long after. You all can be a happy family in hell."

"Moreover, just to make it clear, those guests you've invited?" A laugh interrupted Silas's remarks, as if he thought of something so funny. "They won't get out of here alive. You can't be the hero, Dom. Tonight, you'll die and everyone will hate you for it. Because you shouldn't just die once for dragging everyone in this mess."

"As the saying goes, we've reached this far, not just to get this far," Silas added with a sneer. "Dominic Zhu, you are dead."

Silas was about to close his raised hand into a fist as a signal for everyone to shoot. However, before he could say anything, Primo spoke.

"Partner, you mentioned everyone, but there's a person's name I hadn't heard all night." Primo tilted his head to the side, having this really unsettling hunch creeping up in his spine. "Where's Heaven Liu?"

"Huh?"

"That wretched woman, Dominic's wife," Primo clarified, even though there was no need to. "You didn't say she will attend tonight."

"Ah," Silas smirked as he looked back at Primo. "She's somewhere very safe, Primo."

As if to mock Dominic, he looked back at him with a crafty smirk. "That bitch fell for the drink I gave her. You want her, right? So, I sent her to your room. I told the guys to take her with you once you leave this place."

"You're welcome." Silas snapped his eyes back to Primo. "You keep saying I have no talent in choosing perfect gifts, but I guess that changes now."

Silas's proud smirk dominated his face, but alas, it was short-lived. He furrowed his brows as he studied Primo's grim expression. Primo was often playful no matter the situation, he was full of bullshit. But somehow, at the mention of Heaven Liu, he suddenly turned serious.

"What?" Silas asked, confused. "That bitch was so easy to deal with. What's the sudden change of mood?"

Silas couldn't help but look around, but somehow, he felt like everyone was looking at him as if he was the dumbest person in the world. Even Dominic, who was about to witness his own execution, looked at him with judgemental eyes.

"You stupid motherfucking fool," Primo breathed out in disbelief because at this very second, he realized things wouldn't be so smooth anymore. That solidified when Dominic pinched the bridge of his nose before a burst of muffled laughter slipped past his lips. 

"Hmm?" Silas and Primo slowly shifted their eyes at Dominic, only to see the man suppressing his laughter while hunching in. 

"Silas…" Dominic slowly straightened his back, running his fingers through his neat brush up, making a portion of strands fall to his forehead and temple. Unlike the prim and proper look he would appear, this time, his naturally sharp eyes showed a different wicked glint. 

"I once had a one-on-one session with my wife, and guess what?" His lips curled up into a smirk. "In my hopes of beating her, I ended up missing an opportunity for wild, amazing drunk sex because she had to take care of me all night in the bathroom."

His eyelids drooped as a wicked glint flickered across his eyes. "Trust me. My wife can hold her alcohol well… even if you mixed her drink with any drugs. Tested and proven."

"You're right, Silas." Dominic cast Silas a knowing look. "We've come this far, not just to reach this far. We are already at the stage of no return. And I've already accepted that a year ago when you colluded with this man to kill my son."

The second those words rolled out of Dominic's mouth, the lights went out once more. But this time, it wasn't Dominic's people who had to be wary, but the other party. 

"He he he…" The second the lights went out, the screen where Axel's screaming photo was displayed showed a different video. On the screen was Axel's swollen face, but he had his middle finger up to the side of his swollen cheek. 

"Told you, Silas." Axel's voice was hoarse, and he used his middle finger to pull down his under-eye while sticking his tongue out. "My brother and sis will kill you. You're dead — Bleh!"
