What are we going to do about this guy?

It was not Axel's nature to snoop in his brother's business. Not that he was scared Dominic would get angry. Matter of fact, he knew his brother wouldn't care much if Axel would eavesdrop even in the most important meeting. It was just that Axel didn't have a lot of interest in them.  2

Even so, Axel was curious. 

Just why did Dominic and Heaven call for their security unit at this hour? Was it that important that they couldn't wait for it until tomorrow? Would there be another incident just like that one time over a year ago?

Myriads of questions hovered over Axel's mind, and he wanted a slight reassurance. If it was important, they should let him know too so he could prepare! As a resolution, when Axel reached the family room, he simply knocked quietly. Unlike the aggressive knocks he did earlier, this time, even he barely heard his knocking. 

"Brother," he whispered with a thin voice, opening the door cautiously. "I'm coming in."

Axel peeked his head in quietly, making sure he wouldn't make a sound. Dominic's rule was that Axel could stay in the meeting room and listen to the discussion freely. However, all he was asking of his little brother was not to disturb the discussion. That was what Axel was doing right now.

"So, Silas had taken the bite?" the first remark Axel heard was Bear's remark, making Axel furrow his brows and scan the family room. 

"Though the bite is a little shallow," Heaven commented nonchalantly.

Axel looked around the family room with his head peeking in between the jamb and door. His hand held the knob still, observing the people inside.

'That's strange,' he told himself, counting the people in the family room, and realizing not everyone was there.

Axel thought that most of the bodyguards in the manor would be in the family room when Miriam said his brother called for a meeting. But it seemed he was wrong. The people in the family room were just Dominic, Heaven, Bear, Gray, Princess, Fig, and Butler Fu!

"That man is very careful. I think we can all agree he is quite talented, being able to survive in the complicated world of trade." Heaven drew a deep breath. "But as of the moment, that isn't important."

"Dom, what do you think?" she set her eyes on the man sitting beside her on the couch, blinking almost innocently. "What's important right now is whether or not we take that guy over there in this little secret."

Heaven pointed her thumb over her shoulder, making everyone turn their heads in the direction she pointed at. As soon as their eyes landed on the door, their gaze fell on the head sticking in. 

Axel blinked and blinked, seeing that everyone was already looking at him. "Heh… hehe." An awkward laugh escaped his mouth, straightening his back as he cleared his throat. 

"Can I sit in?" he asked as he stepped inside the room. "I won't disturb you guys. I promise!"

Dominic let out a shallow breath as he looked at his brother. The number one concern he had at the moment. Dominic wasn't afraid of his children's and parent's safety anymore, knowing Gray, Princess, and Fig were looking after them. However, Axel has been his headache recently. 

No matter what, Axel kept refusing security. And not long ago, Heaven told him to let Axel go on his own for now. But with the situation unfolding, they couldn't just let this stubborn guy go on his own. Who knew what would happen to him if he was left unguarded and unarmed?

"I think it should be best if he has a general idea of the situation," Bear suggested after a moment, setting his eyes back to Heaven and Dominic. "Thanks to his obliviousness, our target took the bite. We already got the reaction we needed, and thus, it's pointless to keep the second young master in the dark."

"I agree." Heaven rocked her head before she arched a brow, casting Axel a look. The latter was almost like tiptoeing his way to the chair nearby. "Where are you going, Axel?"

"Huh?" Axel almost flinched at Heaven's question. He let out another short yet awkward laugh while scratching the back of his head. "I'm just going to sit in the corner and wait for you to finish your discussion."

"No, Axel." Dominic pointed at the vacant armchair around the set of couches. "Sit here. We need to talk."

Axel's brows rose, darting his eyes to everyone. His brother and sister-in-law were sitting on the long couch while Bear was in the one-seater armchair. Fig took up all the space in the other long couch, making Gray sit on the armrest while Princess chose to lean against the wall. Princess wasn't within the group, but the distance she had was still enough for her to hear the discussion. Butler Fu, on the other hand, stood in the space between the couch and Bear's seat. 

"Please, Second Young Master." Butler Fu offered Axel a smile until his eyes were squinting. "Sit down. We were just talking about something important that involved the family, including you."

"Family matter?" Axel furrowed his brows deeply as he cautiously approached the vacant seat. When he sat his butt down, he darted his eyes to everyone's faces. "What is this discussion that involved the family?"

The corner of his lips curved down, setting his eyes on Dominic and Heaven. "If this is about forgiving Silas, then I refuse! Bro, don't tell me you want to invite that jerk into this place or the company?" A look of dismay instantly dominated his face at the thought. 

He could already imagine his brother's generosity! Thus, Axel immediately shifted his attention to Heaven.

"Sis, please wake up! Don't fall for Silas's flowery words!" Axel harrumphed in a hurry as if he was fighting against time and needed to convince Heaven in a short span of time. "If you want to forgive him, that's alright. But it's different if you let him back into the family and the company! You're making a big mistake!"

Everyone looked at Axel blankly until the latter stopped speaking, only to look back at them with confusion. 

"What?" he asked, confused. "Why are you looking at me like that? I sure know I didn't say something stupid."

"You didn't, Axel," Dominic answered him. "It's just that we agree to everything you said, but still, we already decided to let him become a part of the board of directors."

"What?!" Axel hopped out of his seat at what he had just heard. But before he could say anything, Bear explained it in one go so the second young master could understand the situation. Dominic was hopeless in this type of thing, after all.
