What does an unmarried man know?
"Sis, are you crazy?" Axel gasped in disbelief after hearing what happened between his sister-in-law and brother last night. "Why would you ask him such a stupid question?"1
Heaven pressed her lips into a thin line, glancing at Axel and then at Ivy. Even though the party last night ended, many of the older relatives stayed in the old residence. Thus, the mood somehow gave off a continuation of last night. Since the elders, including Lionel and Ria Zhu, planned to go fishing, everyone came. The old residence was big enough and had a pond for fishing, after all.
While Dominic was spending time with the relatives and his parents, Heaven and Axel stayed in the tent. The latter noticed that Heaven was giving her husband a cold shoulder; it wasn't obvious, but for someone who was very close with the couple, Axel knew something was wrong.
And he was correct.
Ivy Wei, on the other hand, just came because some elders invited her to have breakfast. And now she was with Axel and Heaven, listening to Heaven's explanation of what happened between her and her husband.
"That's… I'm sorry to say this, but it's stupid," said Ivy hesitatingly, leaning back against the folding chair she was sitting on. "What kind of answer do you want to hear from your husband? That he finds another girl more beautiful than his wife?"
"Won't you feel even more upset if he said that?" Axel scrunched his nose up, looking at his sister-in-law in dismay. "Sis, since when did you become nonsense? This is not the character development we all want. It's backwards!"
Heaven let out a deep exhale, darting her eyes between the two as they roast her alive. "I know, I know!" she huffed once more as she ran her fingers through her hair.
"I know it's nonsense and that I shouldn't even ask in the first place, alright?" she clicked her tongue, snapping her eyes to the distance where Dominic and the elders were sitting. "I already know he will choose me over anyone."
"Then why are you upset?" Ivy tilted her head to the side.
"I… don't know." Heaven pouted, lowering her eyes. "I'm not always like this, but for some reason, I find it very annoying. I already knew asking such a stupid question would not benefit anyone, but I still did. And now I am… upset, but mostly with myself."
She paused for a moment, pressing her lips into a thin line. "Sometimes, I don't understand myself as well. I feel like I've become nonsense for the past few days and get upset so easily. Even the simplest things stress the hell out of me. I think I need some hobbies to keep me occupied."
Ivy and Axel were silent as they listened to her vent her frustrations. However, the more they listened, the more their brows creased. Ivy barely knew Heaven as they became friends only recently and Axel had been busy for the past several months.
However, now that Heaven mentioned it, Axel could easily spot the problem. His sister was always calm and level-headed. However, based on what his sister was telling him, it was strange.
Axel and Ivy suddenly looked at each other before they set their eyes back to her.
"Uhm, Heaven…" Ivy bit her lips, patiently waiting for Heaven to look back at her. "When's the last time you had your period?"
"Ah?"
"Sis, I heard pregnancy will make one a little moody due to hormones. Are you…" Axel trailed off as his gasp came before the rest of his words rolled out of his tongue. "... pregnant?"
"What?" Heaven instantly scrunched her nose up before she laughed. "What are you — that's impossible."
"Why is it impossible?" asked Ivy out of plain curiosity. "Have you been using protection?"
"..." No.
"You two are married, and it's about time for a second child," Ivy continued. "I don't understand why you say it's impossible. It's not like your relationship is an illicit affair."
"That's right." Axel nodded in agreement.
"So?" Ivy's brows rose, eyes fixed on Heaven. "When's the last time you had your period?"
"I just had my cycle…" Heaven trailed off as she furrowed her brows, recalling the date since her last menstrual cycle. As she did, her mouth fell open and her pupil slowly dilated.
Seeing that horrified look gradually taking charge on her face, Ivy and Axel already knew the answer.
"I'm… eight days late."
And those four words opened up the possibility that her erratic moods stemmed from a blessing coming to the Zhu family.

Meanwhile, Dominic sighed for the umpteenth time today. He had been with his uncles and aunties since morning but then got up from his seat to breathe some fresh air. His assistant, Dane Zhang, came to the family activity today and followed him.
Little did Dane Zhang know that asking his boss what was bothering him would force him to listen to a marriage problem.
"Boss, before you say anything, I want to remind you I am single and never married," Dane said, fed up at his boss's casual roast whenever he couldn't give proper advice on this matter. "So, I don't know why the young madam is changing like this."
'But then again, she's already the worst!'was a sentence Dane wanted to add, but bit his tongue before he could do so.
Not because Dominic and Heaven were arguing, Dominic would allow others to say anything bad about his wife. He cared for his wife in good and bad times.
"I already know that. I'm simply telling you in case you can think of anything." Dominic pinched the bridge of his nose, sitting on the folding chair that was placed several meters from the elders. Dane's seat was just right beside his chair.
"I'm just worried, that's all," he continued, sighing once more. "Her mood swings recently were becoming too abrupt and random. It makes me think she's not happy anymore."
Dane stared at his distressed boss quietly, recalling all the details Dominic had told him. "Boss, have you not told the young madam to get checked?"
"She's not crazy."
"No, not like that." Dane shook his head. "Based on what you said, it might not be you but her."
"What does an unmarried man know?"
Dane's face twitched, telling himself his boss didn't mean it like that. "It might be because it's almost that time of the month when women get easily irritated or that she won't get it."
"What do you mean?"
"It's either she'll have her cycle or she won't because she's pregnant." Dane shrugged. "I can be wrong, but I don't think the young madam will be that insensible for no reason." — no matter how Dane disliked her.
Dominic froze at the thought of pregnancy, looking at Dane Zhang with wide eyes.
