[Bonus chapter] We are pregnant

Moments ago, Dominic was beating himself on how to tell his wife she might be pregnant. But now, even before he could bring up the subject to her, she was already holding two pregnancy tests, with both of them having the same positive results.  1

For a few seconds, he could only stare at those lines motionlessly until he noticed her hand trembling.

"Heaven," he called soothingly as he raised his head to meet her teary eyes. "Come here, darling."

Dominic stretched his arms, pulling his wife into his embrace. He squeezed her mildly, trying to calm her trembling body from shaking even more. 

"I'm scared, Dom," she confessed under her breath. "And I'm confused about what to feel. Were these tears happy tears? Or was it because I was terrified?"

Heaven clutched his back as her face turned sour while some remnant of tears lingered on her eyelashes. "I don't know what to think, Dom."

"It's okay." Dominic brushed her back as he kissed the top of her head. "I'm here."

She bit her inner bottom lip, closing her eyes as she fought the overwhelming emotions swelling in her chest. Meanwhile, Dominic held her tightly, with enough caution not to suffocate her. 

He wouldn't be a hypocrite and say he was instantly elated. To be fair, he didn't know what to feel as well. He was aware he could take on another child, but his emotions were too much to handle at that moment.

When Heaven calmed down, the couple decided to take the rest of the pregnancy test he bought. He also confessed what sort of idea Dane Zhang instilled in his mind and thus, the reason he bought almost every brand of pregnancy test in the mall. 

As they decided to do so, Dominic grabbed her a glass of water. They both stayed in the bathroom while she used the multiple pregnancy tests all at once. The couple waited anxiously with Dominic hugging her from behind, eyes on the flat surface of the sink with multiple tests on it. 

After another five minutes, they checked all of them.

The results were the same. 

All of them showed two red lines.

"What should we do, Dom?" she asked quietly, lifting her eyes to the mirror attached to the wall behind the sink to look at his reflection. "We have to tell Basti first, and I'm scared of how he will react. We hadn't prepared him for this."

"I know." Dominic sighed, snaking his arms around her waist before resting his forehead on her shoulder. "Give me a moment to think, my love. I think... I need to process this."

Heaven pressed her lips into a thin line. "Are you happy?"

"Hmm?"

"Do you... want another child?" she clarified, watching him raise his head and rest his chin on her shoulder. "Now that I think about it, we never really talked about the possibility of pregnancy. We've also been using pills, so... what do you think about this?"

The two of them stared at each other's eyes through their reflection. 

It was true both of them were taking pills since using condoms didn't give the same pleasure. Dominic would take pills because he didn't want Heaven to ruin her body, but sometimes, she would still take them. Although they both had to admit they would sometimes miss taking them, especially if they made love abruptly, they would use withdrawal methods.

In other words, both of them hadn't realized all their actions toward their sex life avoided pregnancy. Therefore, the added uncertainty in their hearts.

"Look at me." Dominic released her waist, spinning her around until she was facing him. "Darling, are you happy? My answer is probably already given, but I also want to know if you want another child with me."

Heaven pressed her lips into a thin line. 

"I'm just... scared," she said. "We never talked about it, after all. So, I didn't know your thoughts if I told you I'm pregnant."

Dominic's eyes softened as he cupped her cheek. 

"We," he corrected. "We are pregnant. That child is half of me and half of you. I will not let you go through this alone. I might not be the one carrying it, but I will carry you and our child in my heart."

"It's strange that we are acting as if this is our first child, but I will stay throughout," he continued, smiling affectionately at her. "I love you."

Heaven held the back of his hand that was cupping her face, leaning her face against it. All the uncertainty and anxiety muddling her mind disappeared with just simple words. Now, everything was clear. 

It wasn't that she didn't want to be pregnant. 

The jitters she felt were because it was something she had dreamed of, and now, it was here. A child out of love. Moreover, knowing she — they were expecting and their family would grow bigger overwhelmed her. It wasn't a negative feeling, nonetheless.

"I love you more, Dom." She kept her eyes on him, watching him bend over and tilt his head a little to the side. When she closed her eyes, his lips smashed against hers, inhaling her breath deeply.

Meanwhile…

"Hmm…" Axel hummed loudly while rubbing his chin, narrowing his eyes as he stared at the grass intensely. Sitting on the other folding chair beside him was Bear, who was obviously dragged by the second young master to keep him company. 

'I wonder what's in his mind?'wondered Bear, casting the second young master a glance. 'He would usually brag whenever I accompany him, but he's been distracted.'

As Bear was wondering what was the reason Axel had been humming so loudly while deep in thought, he caught a person's figure not far away. When he raised his eyes, he caught 'Dominic' looking in their direction. 

'Silas Zhu,'he corrected his mind from registering the person as Dominic. 'What a strange situation.'

Bear straightened his back and made sure that Silas would notice him. The moment the latter blinked and glanced at Bear, Silas smirked before he turned to walk away. 

'My instincts tell me…'

"Do you think my sister is pregnant?"

Huh?

Bear's train of thoughts halted when Axel spoke abruptly, making the former look at him ever so slowly. Axel blinked and blinked, staring at Bear innocently as he said;

"I think my sister is pregnant."
