"Axel, did you really think that incident… is the first time Andrea Ng tried to kill me?"0

Deep lines resurfaced in between Axel's brows at Heaven's question. This was the first time he had heard of this. After all, when that incident happened, he wasn't on good terms with Heaven yet. Moreover, Dominic only moved his family to the penthouse right after that incident to prevent his wife from recalling such an unfortunate incident. 

In other words, they didn't talk about it. But now, she was saying that night wasn't the first time Andrea Ng attempted to kill her.

"Sis..." Axel shook his head mildly, trying his best to keep himself together. "What do you mean by that? That maid tried to kill you before that night?"

"Yes. The first time was the perfect chance to frame Dominic Zhu." This time, Bear summarized it, not going into details since it was unnecessary. "Fortunately, the young madam survived. However, she didn't know who tried to kill her that night until Andrea Ng approached her to finish the job."

Another wave of silence dominated the vehicle as Axel absorbed every little information he heard just now. 

"Does my brother know about this?" he blurted out, darting his eyes to the woman beside him and then at the person in the driver's seat. "He doesn't?"

"It didn't matter," Heaven answered.

"How come it doesn't matter?!" Axel frowned, a little disappointed and confused. "I don't see the reason you have to keep these things a secret!" 

Bear and Heaven kept quiet, as the former knew he wasn't in the position to answer that inquiry. Answering Axel and giving him a reasonable answer would only lead to more questions. Therefore, Bear remained silent. 

"Dom already conducted his own investigation, so I know he probably uncovered a thing or two. One of the main reasons we moved out." Heaven snapped her eyes ever so slowly at Axel. "Moreover, Andrea Ng is already behind bars. If I knew about Silas, I would've known my next move. However, I only knew about his existence recently, and only today did we discover his connection with this prick."

Heaven let out another deep exhale, propping her elbow against the window. 

"We took a blow, but he also did," she continued eyes on the flashing highway. "Mrs. Deng will keep an eye on him, and this discovery is quite helpful. So it wasn't a total loss."

"Sis..." Axel calmed down as he sighed, ruffling his unruly hair. "... this is hurting my brain. So what now? Is there anything I can do to help? I mean, you said there's this dangerous fellow that's after my brother. What should I do?"

Bear glanced at the rear mirror, only to see Heaven not responding. Even though Heaven looked like she was deep in thought and was unaware of her surroundings, he was certain that wasn't the case. Heaven simply chose to keep her silence. Therefore, he took it upon himself to give Axel clarity. 

"Keep yourself safe," he said, shifting his eyes back to the road while sensing Axel's gaze on him. "The reason we're telling you this is so you grow vigilant. After all, among all members of the family, you are the only person who doesn't have a single bodyguard."

"I'm in danger too?" Axel placed his hand on his chest. "Like... someone will kill me?"

"You are Dominic Zhu's brother," Bear stressed, in case Axel forgot how valuable he was in the family. "Second young master, until now, we don't know why such a person is targeting your brother. We can only conclude it was because Master's influence and ever-growing power posed a threat to some people, or perhaps he unknowingly earned an enemy over an innocent action. Either way, one fact remained. The master holds a position where he earns the enemy just by breathing. That's how powerful your brother had become and how dangerous the path he was walking down was." 

"What..." Axel scoffed weakly, unable to continue his sentence. 

Axel knew his brother's influence was impressive. He was aware that his brother was close to untouchable, and Axel had always been proud of every milestone of his brother and the LYON Group. However, listening to Bear now and how the latter made it sound, somehow opened up a door to his heart that was only exclusive to dread. It was as though Dominic's current position was more dreadful than impressive. 

"Why do you have to make this sound super dangerous instead of something to be proud of?" he blurted out.

"Because it is dangerous." Bear's face darkened, eyes still fixed on the road. "Second young master, I think you're the only one who thinks your brother doesn't carry a crippling burden on his shoulder."

"..." Axel pressed his lips into a thin line, getting schooled by Bear just minutes after they departed Dominic's previous home. He glanced at Heaven, only to see her still staring out the window. 

'Is it really… different from what I thought?'His lips curled down a little, leaning his back against the leather seat. 'Then why is my brother not telling a word about it?'

Deep in Axel's heart, he already knew the reason Dominic wasn't saying a thing or complaining. His brother wasn't the type to complain, unlike him, who would always rant, even if there wasn't an opportunity to do so. His brother was always like that, silent to the point people thought he had no feelings. 

'He is always like that…'he thought, lowering his eyes as worry and a bit of sadness swirled in them. 'I wonder if he also gets scared at times?'

Their journey right after that was filled with nothing but silence. Heaven kept her eyes out while Axel hung his head low, both deep in thought. Meanwhile, Bear drove carefully but also, half of his mind was wandering somewhere else.

They all had different trains of thought, having different thought processes. However, the three of them only had one person in mind: Dominic.
