I passed through the spongy golden layer and immediately felt its effects. It only had one effect, that is absorption.

It will absorb any energy that it will find. 

It worked like a stealth artifact, but stronger and quicker. It is having been activated to save normal people, so there is no way, it would let energy spread and let it kill them.

It is going to make the fighting very difficult. To me, it will be beneficial, with some drawbacks.

Unlike most of them, inheritance, my energy attacks are compacted to my weapons. They didn't cover the vast area around it; not to mention the tiny bit of rule-bending power in them will stop it from getting absorbed.

The disadvantage of it is quite simple. 

It will force these cultists to prefer attacks that increase physical power. I am weaker in dealing with them than energy, but still better than everyone else.

"Die, you corrupted bastard!" said the booming voice as the High-Grandmaster Ishban cultist appeared in front of me and attacked me with a thick saber.

It moved like a snake, easily avoiding his saber and moving toward the chest.

I could see the alarm in the dark blue eyes of it as it increased the power of its attack to catch my spear, but it was too fast. That a moment later, it appeared to be beside its chest.

It pierced through his chest into his heart and immediately, the poison in the tip froze his blood.

This spear is only for the natives. Its red tip had poison forged. I have used a pretty powerful poison while forging it and till now, its tip had been submerged in the poison.

The poison froze him but also gave him extreme pain. One could see how the red lines were spreading in its eyes.

It wanted to scream, but being frozen, it couldn't. It could only bear the pain without making any noise.

"You are lucky," I said, and my spear crushed his heart and a moment later, it had disappeared into my core. 

There was some resistance, but I broke it.

I wish there wasn't a battle. If we had been alone, I would have let the bastard suffer pain for more than a few seconds before sending him to the underworld.

With the first cultist dead, I moved to kill another and there are a lot of them around me.

I moved through them while killing them at every strike. My spear would move like a snake, striking the cultist left and right, killing them, before sending them to my core.

These bodies will be helpful. I heard there is a hidden formation in the bodies of Ishban cultists, I want to see it.

Half a minute passed since I entered the golden layer and I have killed over twenty Grimms of all levels, except for the Peak Sovereign.

I am waiting for one to come at me and it seemed like my killing had already caught the eye of a few, with two coming at me.

"Don't you feel it when you were doing the same?" I asked back and could see my words have made him angry.

"We didn't kill them human, we purified them, and we will do the same with you," said the short one and attacked with his sword, while the tall one appeared behind and attacked me with her black saber.

They are Peak Sovereigns, and they are powerful as well as experienced. Their teamwork also seemed good.

Seeing that, I couldn't help but grin.

It had been a month since I have come back from the ruin, and I am kind of missing it. Not the ruin, but the fighting.

In this past month, I had only traveled. I had fought a few times, but it was not enough to quench the thirst of my heart.

Now, with these thousands of sovereigns, I will quench my thirst. I hope the blond hair woman will kill the cultist Governor or at least keep her occupied long enough for help to arrive.

The sealed city going to arouse suspicion. I am sure the people from the organization are soon will suspect something and send people to investigate.

I hope they do not go lazy about it for the sake of my sake and theirs.

Alkaz had got involved and seeing there was an undercover cultist in their organization and reached so high up is a bad thing for them and if they respond well to the crisis will add another strike.

Alkaz had dissolved many organizations for such things, and nobody could do anything.

They are bestowed with the authority to pass justice. 

Even the most powerful organizations in the world would think twice before interfering in its affairs.
