Qi Hui cleared his throat. He was talking to Liu Qian with the airs of a boss when he changed his tune and said encouragingly, "Although Huo Yao isn't a Science student, she is the top Arts scholar."0

Prof Zhao had personally made an exception for the top Arts scholar to join the Biology department, so he was not stupid enough to openly make things difficult for her. However, it was out of the question to place her in his Biotechnology division.

He had to make the stupid Liu Qian his fall guy.

Qi Hui paused before he continued. "Even though she doesn't have any foundation in Science, she can work on it. After all, no one becomes good in the field of Biology overnight."

Liu Qian frowned even harder.

Why did Mr. Qi sound as though he did not want the top Arts scholar? He did not join in when the other teachers refused to take Huo Yao in. He simply could not bear making her study something she was not interested in and wanted to help her.

Liu Qian was a down-to-earth man. He was worried that Huo Yao might feel hurt thinking he did not want her, so he explained. "Mr. Qi, you misunderstand me…"

Huo Yao finally broke her silence. "Mr. Qi is right. If my foundation is weak, I can work on it. I have changed my mind. I don't mind staying in Bioinformatics."

Liu Qian looked at Huo Yao in shock. A few seconds later, he hurriedly said, "Huo Yao, you really don't have to force yourself."

The subject she took would affect her future, so he did not want her to regret her decision.

Huo Yao looked at Liu Qian. Since Liu Qian was an honest chap, he often got pushed around. She straightened her back as she said, "Mr. Liu, in that case, I am going back to class."

Was she going to stay in this division?

Qi Hui heaved a sigh of relief.

He was genuinely worried that Huo Yao would insist on getting transferred and even tell Prof Zhao about this. If Prof Zhao insisted on placing her under some other course, he would kill himself first.

Liu Qian watched as Huo Yao disappeared through the office doors before he moved his eyes. He looked at Mr. Qi and wanted to retort.

Qi Hui raised his hand and said, "I know what you want to say, but Biotechnology is a core division of Bioengineering. Every student from Biotechnology will end up becoming an important scientist."

It was a pure waste of government funding to groom people without talent.

A sad smile swept across Liu Qian's face briefly. He naturally knew what Mr. Qi was trying to say.

Since Bioinformatics had not made any important contribution in years, the course gradually became the most unimportant subject in Bioengineering.

All the unwanted students from other courses kept getting thrown into his course. As a result, his division was a complete mess.

Qi Hui looked at the miserable look on Liu Qian's face before he shook his head and turned to leave the office without saying a word.

Qi Hui had to make a speech to the freshmen today since he was department head, so he was very busy.

After Huo Yao left the office, she followed the instruction she received from a teacher via text and found her way to the freshmen's classroom.

All the freshmen had assembled here. There were 26 students taking the course, but only 18 of them had signed up voluntarily while the remaining students were forced to take Bioinformatics.

Huo Yao got delayed because she went to see Liu Qian, so she was the last person to enter the classroom. She entered through the back door, so no one noticed her coming in.

She randomly took a seat.

Since she was in the Science department, there were more males than females. At a glance, the room was full of men with just a handful of women.
