The shrill sound of sirens could be instantly heard coming from basement two and rang throughout the building. 0

All the lights in the building lit up the moment the alarm was sounded. Level one alert had been activated in the institute!

Huo Yulin was nearly at the emergency exit when he turned his head in shock.

The surveillance cameras had come back to life and were gradually moving. He could hear the infrared sensors beeping as they got reactivated.

"Go."

A cold mechanical voice came from the mike. Huo Yulin veered his eyes. Before the infrared sensors got to him, he darted behind the emergency door.

Yuan Huan was standing by the wall. He laughed coldly without giving chase to the intruder.

The institute had the best security system, so it was impossible for the person to escape now.

Yuan Huan veered his eyes and turned to look at the laboratory at the end of the corridor. He quickly walked over and helped to support the two other men whom he had come with.

Since they were not trained to fight, they were in bad shape and it took some time for them to recover.

"Check out the lab and see if everything's okay."

The older researcher disregarded the pain he was in and stumbled toward the laboratory at the end of the corridor. He tapped his card on the digital lock and placed his thumb on the panel. The door promptly opened.

Yuan Huan narrowed his eyes as he followed behind the older man. After they entered the laboratory, Yuan Huan said, "Why don't you check if anything is missing? I will try to find the intruder."

The two other researchers were very worried about the laboratory, so they took Yuan Huan's suggestion and waved at him without a second thought.

Yuan Huan closed the door behind them before he walked off.

After getting to basement one using the emergency exit, Huo Yulin wanted to continue walking upstairs, but Huo Yao stopped him.

"The emergency exit on the ground floor is secured, so you have to go up using the lift."

Huo Yao sat in front of the laptop solemnly as she typed quickly. She was trying to attack the institute's network.

The moment Huo Yulin heard what the mechanical voice said, he promptly opened the emergency exit without any hesitation. When he opened the door, the infrared sensor instantly detected his presence and came for him.

Since his face was not on the system, it quickly treated him as an intruder and automatically attacked him.

The infrared sensors were aiming for Huo Yulin, so he had no time to hesitate and quickly dodged them. Before he was able to steady himself, another infrared sensor came at him from behind, forcing him to the left.

Even though the lift was only two meters away from him, it was hard for him to get there with the interference of the infrared sensors.

Huo Yao typed even more quickly as she watched her third older brother evade the infrared sensors.

If Huo Yulin wanted to leave in one piece, she had to crack the institute's security system.

Huo Yao felt a headache coming on just thinking about the security system.

She should never have helped in building it.

"Keep going," said Huo Yao.

Huo Yulin said nothing as he focused on dodging the infrared sensors. When he did not react quickly enough, one of the sensors got him on the shoulder. In an instant, a charred piece of black fabric stained with blood fluttered onto the ground.

Huo Yulin did not even bat an eyelid. He continued dodging the infrared sensors. In about ten seconds, he got to the lift entrance.

The lift was already there with its door open.

Huo Yulin was caught by surprise as he quickly strode into the elevator.

The moment the lift door closed, he heard the mechanical voice instructing him. "You can access the next building from a corner on the fifth floor, but you need to climb outside the building, so it's a little dangerous."
