"You're just making an excuse to use her. You know exactly why I don't want to take her there," said Liu Qian sarcastically with an angry look on his face.

Qi Hui did not want to continue arguing with Liu Qian and ruin his mood. "Don't say I didn't try. Her academic future is at stake and you should know better."

The moment he finished his sentence, he turned to leave the office without giving Liu Qian the chance to retort.

Liu Qian watched as his office door closed before he slumped into his seat powerlessly.

He did not have the cheek to tell Huo Yao the truth.

Liu Qian held his phone for some time without texting Huo Yao. During this time, he happened to receive a call from the journal.

After answering the phone, Liu Qian looked both happy and worried. He pondered briefly before he eventually sent Huo Yao a text message.
