She needed to rest for a long time each time she performed acupuncture.

Hence, she tossed the old man's unreasonable demands to the back of her head.

Before she went to bed, she switched her phone to do not disturb mode.

Old Master Min waited in the hospital for a long time and was certain that Huo Yao would feel bad and end up visiting him, along with food. He kept glancing at his wristwatch, which was continuously ticking until it was 11:00 pm, but she did not turn up or even call him.

The old man was so angry that his beard shivered with suppressed emotions.

"What kind of a person is she? She is extremely unkind!" The old man pulled out his phone furiously and called Huo Yao.

The phone rang for a long time until he heard a mechanical tone telling him there was no answer. He hung up angrily.

His stomach's growling rang in the hospital ward suddenly. The old man hung his head and rubbed his tummy indignantly.

He was famished.

Forget it. He would not feel the hunger if he went to sleep.

The old man lay back in bed and covered himself with the blanket before closing his eyes.

Five minutes later, his stomach growled even more loudly, so the old man pulled off the blanket and sat up on a huff.

He turned to look at the bedside table, where the last apple sat innocently.

A nurse had come by to give him four apples in the afternoon.

He detected a sour taste in his mouth as he looked at the lone apple. In his heart, he instantly blamed Huo Yao for his current predicament.

He had merely blackmailed her, but this young woman did not play nice.

She was the same as his unfilial grandson.

They were completely cold and heartless!

The next day.

Huo Yao had slept all night peacefully and felt energetic this morning. She pulled out her phone to check the time but was unable to turn it on.

She pressed the on button for a long time only to realise that her phone's battery had run out.

Huo Yao narrowed her eyes. That was odd. It still had about 80% battery when she went to sleep last night.

She lifted her blanket, and placed her phone on the bedside table to charge. She changed into her school uniform before entering the bathroom.

After washing up, she went downstairs without her phone.

Huo Xiang had gone to another province to shoot a music video, so only her parents and second older brother were at the dining table having breakfast.

Huo Yao greeted the three of them before she pulled out a chair for herself. She settled down to eat her breakfast quietly.

They had been in the middle of a discussion before Huo Yao came downstairs.

"Tingrui, I don't care. You have to go for matchmaking on Saturday."

Huo Yao had just taken a sip of milk and almost choked when she heard what her mother said.

Matchmaking?

Huo Yao turned her head sideways to look at her second older brother, who was sitting next to her quietly.

During all this time, she had not seen him bring any female friends home ever.

Huo Tingrui adjusted his glasses and looked at his mother annoyingly. "Mom, can you stop it? How can I go for matchmaking in this time and age?"

Song Ning sneered before she said in disdain, "Can you find anyone yourself if you don't go for a matchmaking session?"

Huo Tingrui went speechless.

Even his biological mother was so hurtful.

"Although you are the least good-looking person in the family and might not succeed in finding a girlfriend despite going for a matchmaking meet, we won't give up on you," added Huo Jinyan solemnly.

Huo Tingrui, who had been known for his good looks among lawyers, remained pitifully quiet.
