At the Jiang Mansion.

Gu Chaoyan had no idea what happened at the Gu Mansion. She had been quite engaged with different affairs and did not have time until right now to sit down with Madame Jiang.

It was already autumn, but the sunshine gave out slight warmth and the wind was not blowing.

After some consideration, Gu Chaoyan helped Madame Jiang to get some sunshine out in the yard.

Gu Chaoyan had just made the medicine personally in the kitchen, and Auntie Jiang, who had been serving Madame Jiang, served it to her.

Gu Chaoyan felt Madame Jiang's pulse before she drank the medicine.

The pulse was quite stable, so she let out a sigh of relief.

"Madame Jiang, the medicinal drink is sweet and tastes nice. Have a try!" Gu Chaoyan said with a smile.

Madame Jiang was showing a very affable and loving smile to Gu Chaoyan. This girl was not only capable of making medicine, but also had a wonderful personality.

She was not arrogant, conceited. Nor was she flattering her intentionally. She even made the medicine herself!

Normally, ladies would ask the maids to do the work, when they claimed that they did it themselves.

She looked at Gu Chaoyan with even more love. Then she wiped off the stain that remained on her face. "You don't have to do the work yourself next time, just ask Auntie Jiang to deal with it."

"I am not here often. So I should be devoted to you whilst I am living here. Those are not difficult jobs, and even if Auntie Jiang makes the medicine, I still have to adjust the fire," Gu Chaoyan said as she took out a medical bottle and passed it to Auntie Jiang. "This bottle contains the pills I made. Please add the pills into the medicine when you are making it, when I am not here."

Those pills were made by the magical spring.

Although Madame Jiang was doing pretty well she still had to use those pills made by magical water ready, since they worked best.

With eyes upon Gu Chaoyan, Madame Jiang could not help but sigh. "You are just like Yan'er!"

Gu Chaoyan got startled, and did not come back to herself until she realized that Madame Jiang was talking about the Queen. For one second, she had no idea what to say.

Her husband, the general, passed away a long while ago, and Madame Jiang had only one daughter, namely the Queen, but she was residing in the court. So she was surrounded by loneliness.
