Seeing Gu Chaoyan walking out, Xia Yinghan could not help but smile, "Lady Chaoyan, the books you are reading seem very interesting."

"I am just using them to kill time." Gu Chaoyan responded.

Apart from the tales she liked, she was most interested in regional stories. She would very much like to travel about this world when she got the chance, but that was not what she was able to do right now, so she did not mention anything about it.

As they were talking, Sword One already got the breakfast ready.

As the dishes were placed upon the table one after another, she said, "I have asked the kitchen to get two portions ready, hope you like it, Doctor Yinghan."

"I am granting you a bonus." The King said indifferently, "The Empress Dowager is asking for you, go and see her now."

The Dean and Xia Yinghan were both startled. Neither of them had seen this coming.

Gu Chaoyan had no interest in meeting her, but she had no choice, so she nodded and answered, "Okay."

"King, Lady Chaoyan is not familiar with the court, let me keep her company there." Xia Yinghan stepped forward and said,

The King nodded, made a waving gesture at her and approved.

Instead of looking at them, he turned to the Dean, "As for what you told me yesterday…" Then he walked out of the Imperial Study.

Xia Yinghan looked concerned. "Do remember to stay tolerant of The Empress Dowager, it can't be something important.'
