406: “There’s a monster in this city!”

“There’s a monster in this city!”

Spike was surrounded by different kinds of Advanced Fire Dolls.

"Now you are sending mobs to tire me. I'll tell you beforehand. This kind of tactic is useless against a veteran like me," Spike declared.

"Don't lower your guard, though." After saying that, Yman smiled faintly before raising his hand in the air.

A second later, he waved it forward. The eyes of those creatures, all glowed brightly in crimson color. Then, after that, all of them started attacking Spike.

Spike evaded and attacked at the same time. He managed to split in half the two Ant-Model Enhanced Fire Dolls that came to bite his legs.

"Easy!"

He grinned.

However, the Ant-Model Enhanced Fire Dolls' severed bodies glowed brightly. Spike felt a foreboding feeling at it. In the next second, they exploded and caught him off guard.

"Argh!"

Spike was sent tumbling away and was injured. 

"Ugh!"

He groaned as bruises and blood were apparent on his body. The cloak he was wearing had torn to pieces and the little remains were tainted with blood.

"Easy— you said?" Yman asked with a mocking smile."I forgot to tell you they would explode if killed rashly."

He heard the Black Magician say those words.

"B-Bastard!"

Spike quickly gulped down another elixir to heal his injuries.

"Gaaaah!"

He wiped his mouth using his arm after gulping down the elixir.

'This situation is far worse than I thought. This Black Magician is far more evil. How was he able to control this number of summons? This is not good! Killing them at close range is dangerous. Shit!' Spikes whined inwardly. 

He shot a glare at the Mysterious Black Magician who was standing in midair while watching his predicament.

"Damn you! What are these creatures?!" Spike gnashed his teeth. "Come down here and fight fair!" He taunted him.

However, he only got a menacing grin as a reply.

"Hehe."

Spike noticed the Black Magician lifted his palm. 

'Black energy? He really has black mana! Wait! What is that?!'

Spike widened his eyes. Atop the black magician's palm, he saw a sphere of black energy. But, there seemed something wrong with it.

Spike's eyes widened, even more, when bats came out from the black sphere. They flew towards him while sending <Black fireballs

"What? So that's how he made these monsters?!" Spike exclaimed.

Seeing the incoming black fireballs, he summoned multiple <Earth Javelins

around him.

"Don't underestimate me!" He shouted.

Spike waved his hand.

The <Earth Javelins

flew towards the <Black fireballs

. In a blink of an eye, their attacks will collide. That was the expected result, but something unexpected had happened.

The Earth Javelins disappeared upon touching those <Black Fireballs

"What?!"

Spike gawked for a second. He couldn't believe what happened.

"Come on, I already told you. Mana-based attacks are useless against me."

Spike's brows were twitching. He could not believe he found himself at a disadvantage against this brat. He was feared by many foes on the battlefield. Yet, this brat was making fun of him like he was a nobody!

He gritted his teeth so hard as he dodged the black fireballs.

Since his earth elemental attack was useless against his enemy, he could only rely on his physical ability. However, he had another problem. He could not carelessly attack them as they would explode.

In that case, his only chance to defeat the Black Magician was to attack him directly.

He couldn't understand the kind of ability this Black Magician had. It was the first time he encountered such an opponent.

After dodging the <Black Fireballs

, Spike summoned mana all over his body.

Then suddenly, he shouted.

"Diamond Suit!"

"Oh~" Yman's eyes sparkled.

Now Spike was donned in full body armor. But the armor wasn't made by a famed smith. It was one of his earth elemental abilities. He wasn't even using any artifacts.

The helm looked like a beetle head. The body looks sturdy and some spikes resembled wings at the back. And there were bigger Claw Knuckles on his hands.

Yman couldn't help but think Spike looked like a battle robot with his current form.

Nonetheless, aside from his form, he also noticed a drastic change in his strength.

"With this… my power will be doubled!" Spike shouted.

Not only that, he even looked bigger than before.

"Isn't that heavy?" Yman asked curiously.

"Heh~ you don't need to worry about that, because I'm going to beat you up with this," Spike's rebuttal.

"Okay…" Yman replied while showing a nonchalant face. As if saying, "Whatever…"

There was a reason why Spike was the holder of Diamond Logo; he was the master of Earth Element. His name is Spike — the bearer of Diamond Suit power.

Yman waved his hand to command his Fire dolls.

The bats breathed <Black Fireballs

once again. 

The fireballs hit Spike and it was followed by consecutive explosions.

However, a second later, Spike looked unharmed by it. The armor remained intact as well.

"Oh~"

Yman slightly bewildered by it.

"Surprised?! Kukuku!"

"Well, not really. That armor seemed like it didn't fall into the category of mana-based." He wondered how it happened. "Perhaps, it was like an artifact."

"I won't be telling you, dumbass. Unfortunately for you, I don't need to supply it with mana. Now, prepare to die!"

Spike lowered his body.

He was about to dash forward, however, his hand was caught by a black web from one of the Spider Model Enhanced Fire Dolls.

"Damn nuisance!" He got rid of it by using Claw Knuckle on his other hand.

After getting rid of the spider web, Spike bolted forward, destroying the Enhanced Fire Dolls in his path. His movement was so quick that only a flash of light could be seen every time he moved.

Boom!

Kaboom!

The Fire Dolls exploded one after another.

Spike noticed two Noble Rat Enhanced Fire Dolls appeared behind him.

He blocked their kicks. Then he struck them using his Claw Knuckles.

The two Noble Rat Enhanced Fire Dolls were defeated quickly. They exploded like the others, but the explosion didn't deal damage to Spike.

It took him a minute or two to defeat all the remaining dolls.

Now there were only the two of them left.

'As expected, he's not an ordinary opponent,' Yman thought.

"I told you… those mobs are useless against me."

"Hmm… I see you're right," Yman replied, sounding uninterested.

"Now, prepare yourself. You'll be the next to disappear."

Without caring what Spike said, he replied saying, "Uhm… like I said. Isn't that armor heavy to you?"

"Heh!" Spike scoffed. "Spouting nonsense again! I'll bet you're afraid— uh?!!" Spike widened his eyes.

He suddenly felt weak.

His vision quivered and his knees wobbled. He fell to the ground. Now on all four, Spike tried to stand up. However, it seemed as though he had no strength to do it.

"W-what?"

"See? I'm right. That armor is heavy. Look, you're sweating profusely. Kuku," Yman chuckled mockingly.

"Damn you! What did you do?!" Spike bellowed. 

Yman jumped to the ground. He landed a few steps away from Spike. Then, he walked unhurriedly towards him.

"The moment you started killing my mobs, is the moment you have lost the fight."

"W-What do you mean?"

"Let me borrow your words. I won't be telling you, dumbass."

'This bastard!'

Spike felt every time the Black Magician stepped forward, he felt an inexplicable pressure, pinning him down to the ground.

"I-Intimidation?" He mumbled. "What?! This brat capable of it?!"

He looked at him. But, fear suddenly appeared on his face when he saw his glaring eyes. There was no mistake! He was under this kid's Intimidation! 

However, it wasn't an ordinary level of Intimidation. 'This is unbelievable! This level of Intimidation is already beyond a human's capability.

'This must be the reason for my weakening. No wonder he was so nonchalant this whole time. It was because he was hiding a trump card under his sleeves.'

'No. I can't win in this fight. I need to escape and warn the others. This city… There's a monster in this city!'

Spike gritted his teeth. He wanted to escape but he could not move. The effect of this Intimidation was so strong. He could not even lift a finger. He felt like a lamb waiting for someone to butcher him.

Upon arriving in front of him, the Black Magician smiled faintly at him. Right after that, Spike's world was spinning. He was sent flying away due to a kick.

The kick was strong enough to send him crashing into the opposite wall.

Blood spurted out from his mouth. Spike could not believe the strength of that kick. He almost lost consciousness. Thankfully, he was donning his Diamond Suit. If not, he would probably faint from that attack.

'Just who is this brat?'

Regardless, this is his chance.

Before Yman could come close again. Spike's figure blended into the wall. He used his escaping technique.

"Eh?"

Yman looked dumbfounded. He forgot the enemy could also use that ability. If Sistela knew about it, she would be yelling at him at this very moment for letting that enemy escape.

Spike materialized two streets away from the alley.

"Ngh!" He groaned. He was lucky that the enemy kicked him away.

Without wasting time, he tried to contact his comrades. But everyone seemed busy.

"Tsk! No one is responding!"

The last person he contacted was the bearer of the heart logo, the code name Miss Love.

Finally, someone responded to his call.

He directly told her his reason for calling. "Retreat! Fast! A-a magician… a magician in black…"

At that moment, he noticed a person jump in front of him. 

"Eh?! H-how did you— get away! Don't come! Don't commmme! Arrggh!!!!"
