Juda washed the dishes in a small vat of water, letting out a sigh. "Wonder what my darling is doing? bet she is fighting some badass zombie with a stoic look on her face,"

Lui, who was sitting on the sofa, rolled her eyes. "You're surprisingly corny,"

"I'm in love," she whispered back with a smile.

"I can see that.." Lui sat up with a bright smile. "You know I talked to Bohai today. We even went out on a walk together."

"That's great," Juda carried a kettle of well-heated bottled water to her. "Hot water?"

"No thanks,"

Juda sat besides her sipping the hot water with relish. But her worried eyes focused on the table where empty bottles were stacked up. "We are running out of water and food. Did you hear from uncle Wen?"

"What? I didn't hear anything,' Lui turned over giving her full attention.

"The farm, it's in a very bad state. The new mutant plants have all died off. No one knows why. None of the crops survived. If this goes on uncle Wen won't be able to supply food to everyone," she bit into the ceramic mouth of the cup.

Juda let out a sigh. Things in the settlement were tense for a while. The soldiers who were under the three generals who were demoted have been acting weird. Some even tried to capture them again.

She and Lui escaped thanks to Bohai who was close by.

They took a long break from their jobs and decided to just stay home as they promised Tian.

Juda sighed once again. "Would it be like this every time Yue and his team go out? It's not a good thing."

"Nah it's because Hary went along with his team this time. Usually, they are the ones who uphold the rules and laws around here. Without them, it has been very hard to enforce them. Some men are loose,"

Juda let out another sigh. She leaned over and started to play with the light switch.

"Ya!" Lui slapped her butt. "It's not a fidget toy. Don't pay with it,"

"It's a fidget toy at this point," Juda mumbled.

Their house did have solar power, but it can only power two appliances. They used it to power the electric stove and a small light in the hallway. Other than that the other appliances in the house were completely useless.

They were just toys and racks to use.

She switched the light on and off and on.

Suddenly, the light came on.

"huh...." both of them sat up peering at the ceiling light. Even the fan and other appliances were working. The TV got switched on and was displaying a static screen.

"oh my god," Lui hurriedly ran around the house. "oh my god! We have electricity! Oh, my goddddd!!!!!!!!!"

Juda excitedly touched the light switch. "Tian did it. They got the electricity back." she jumped up and down in glee. "She will be back soon!!!"

Lui sat down on the sofa giggling. "Weren't you going to surprise her with a date?"

"I was… but things are tense. I don't think she will have the time to,"'

"Nonsense. You guys have not gone out at all. You need to go out there chill, and maybe have some yummy time in bed."

Juda hid her blushing face. "I-I don't know about that… its…"

"wait, wait, you guys haven't done it? Girl, you guys sleep together and wake up together!" Lui sat up in shock. Their house had two rooms she had graciously stayed in one room leaving the two alone.

  To think that these two stayed so pure… "tsk tsk, get up. We are going shopping,"

"Huh, where? And for what? we have everything here."

Lui raised a brow. "Really? You guys have 'toys'. Some girls prefer intimacy with it. You must have it at hand."

Her best friend looked super confused. "What toy? We are not going to play…."

  "a dildo, dummy,"

"ahhhh!! A what!!"

Back in the Zou household, Zou Nui was chopping up some carrots on the countertop. Subconsciously, she reached for the tap to wash her hands clean.

Before turning the facet on she paused. "oh we don't have water... Wei can you bring some pond water here!"

"Coming," her loving husband brought over a small pot of water for her to wash his hands with.

Looking at her clean hands, her husband frowned.

"Darling the water is safe. Your friend tested it and assured me as so. Why do you still frown at it?" she gently tapped his wrinkles.

Zou Wei blinked at her with a pout. "Yue said not to use it for a while."

"Yue told us to get it tested. We did. The water came out clean and it can even be drinkable. There is nothing to worry about my darling husband. Just go sit tight. The food will be ready in a while," she gently kissed his cheeks.

"Okay," Wei picked up the black cat from the floor and sat on the dining table watching her every move.

Even if she accidentally dropped something, he panicked and ran to her.

Zou Nui smiled at him. "I love you,"

"I love you too," he said with the sweetest smile he could muster. Suddenly, his smile diminished a bit. "Nui... when will we tell Tian about her birth father?"

Nui froze. Her hands started to tremble slightly. "She didn't ask for it.. so... I don't think it's necessary for us to divulge that information to her. She is our child and.."

"You know that is not true. Wen is devastated, Nui. He really wants to be close to them."

Nui dropped the vegetable in the soup carelessly splattering hot water. "I don't want to talk about this. Wei, please... I just got my children back. I don't want any more trouble."

"It's not the same as years ago. Wen's family is no longer in control. They need to know too."

"No, they don't!"

Nui closed the pot. It was a secret she wished that none of her children would know.....

"They must know... take your time and think about it Nui," Wei whispered and walked back to his room.

Nui just stood there peering at the boiling pot. It was all because of her.

It all started because of her.

Things got complicated.

But it was a worthy decision she made.

She has two lovely kids now... she would do anything for them.

But saying that she had been deceiving them for years is not something she wanted to share.
