Eight am in the morning, Hary woke up exactly on time by the small ticking sound in the room. He glanced at the side oaring at the huge old-fashioned wall clock that was ticking loudly.1

He sat up straight, yawning.

Things were abuzz right after he returned to the barrack. Many things needed his attention.

He then glanced at the huge pile of documents he needed to go through with a huge scowl.

This was part of his responsibility to keep this place running. To admit he was not that good at the administration part of it, only the protecting the civilian part was useful when defining his role here.

'I really wish someone would take care of the administration part. Mister wen is good at it but... the old man rarely sleeps anymore. Maybe we can ask fan...'

Hary brushed his teeth and spat out the foam and wiped his mouth. The water source was back in flow but he could not bear to waste even a drop knowing how much hard work his team and his friends had put into it.

He used just half a cup of rinse in his mouth and sink.

After which he changed into his new clothes while air drying the old sweaty one.

Every soldier was issued two uniforms, not more not less. They had to make sure they stayed in shape and clean.

Hary touched the small holes in his uniform pants. He was not even sure when he got this miscellaneous rip from.

"hope the girls can sew it for me after they get better,'

That was the great benefit of staying with three girls. all of them were super helpful and made yummy food.

The only disadvantage... well, they tended to treat him like a doll. Every time he woke up in their shared flat one of them would be sitting by his foot painting his nails.

Once he found Lui curling his hair with a bloody piece of ribbon, when asked about it she casually said that she was testing out another method of curling.

Hary could not even fight them against these minor inconveniences. He let them play with him however they wanted.

The only backlash was when the other team members and the soldiers got a glace at their masterpieces.

Hary glanced at the chipped pink paint in his fingertips. "fuck how long does it take for this thing to go away. Juda painted them a long time ago,"

He scratched at it. It only hurt his nails a bit.

Sighing, he gave up on it. After eating a small protein bar. He was ready for duty.

The first thing he had to do was to check on the kidnapped people from yesterday. The three were saved and admitted into the military ward momentarily.

"What do you mean I have to leave! What kind of work are you doing! You are supped to help the sick! I am sick! let me in!" a girl was shooting right outside the infirmary. Two of the soldiers were trying their best to talk sense into her. but the girl was not listening to them one bit.

One of them gave him a pitiful gaze, asking for help.

Hary mentally took a deep breath, ready to deal with her tantrum. "ma'am, hi, I hope you are okay right now. please don't cause disturbance in front of the infirmary. Many wounded are resting in there."

Once a patient was deemed healthy they will be discharged because military barrack could not hold many people. The precious spot can't be wasted on someone healthy.

The girl, without glancing back, shouted. "I am wounded! Aren't you supposed to treat me too! I was barely even fed! I'm a patient!" she glanced back. Peering at him, her scrunched-up face relaxed a bit. Her small eyes hidden behind her bangs shimmered like a love stuck preteen.

Hary clearly recognized this look. he kept a safe distance from her. "Ma'am please help cooperate with us. We don't have any intentions to bring you harm...."

"You, what is your name? I want you as my bodyguard! Appoint him as my bodyguard. I don't need to stay in this lousy hospital room, ill stay with him instead." She rushed to cling to his arm.

Beware of her move, Hary did not even let her close. "There is a protocol. I can't afford to let anyone stay with me not have the time to protect someone. Please be on your way,"

The girl's eyes wavered over to his shoulder strap where his badges were stitched on. "oh... them make time for me. It's my family's tax money that is financing you. You have to repay it back to me." she smiled at him ludicrously.

Hary sighed loudly. "Sorry I can't waste time here," he walked into the infirmary.

The girl rushed in after the soldier could not stop her because he was screaming assault.

He glanced back with a slight frown. 'If every girl starts misusing the word assault it will really cause a lot of problems. Didn't this girl know the seriousness of her claim..'

The young girl just blinked at him with a smile still plastered on her face.

Not bothering with her Hary went on rounds, checking in on every patient. Without Juda or tian here, the infirmary was badly short-staffed. The volunteers who decided to work as a nurse here could not handle the sorrow and quit as soon as they started.

The doctors and nurses working here looked so haggard.

'I should find new staff for the infirmary. If this goes on the doctor might collapse.'  He glanced at the patient beds. One bed, in particular, caught his attention.

It was the bed with a patient so thin that only his bones were visible. He laid shrunken hugging his knees together.

Hary walked close and looked at his report. The man was just malnourished.

"Che, why is he even alive? Do you know, they fed him but they refused to feed me?! how audacious these people are," the young girl glared at the hospital staff.

Hary just glared at her. "Please leave the premise if you are so repulsed by it. and next time you decide to accuse someone of something make sure to have proof because I won't trust a word that comes out of your mouth,"

He left the girl gaping and stormed out of the infirmary.
