Ever since she lost her sight, her other senses had become extremely sharp, especially her hearing. Hence, she caught the faint sound of footsteps.

Hua Jin stopped in his tracks but remained silent.

Just as the servant was about to speak, Hua Jin raised his finger to his lips, signaling her to keep quiet.

Yun Shishi raised her brows. She knew at once that the person was trying to play a guessing game with her. She curled her lips and smiled with narrowed eyes. "Hua Jin, stop fooling around."

Hua Jin widened his eyes in surprise. He walked to her side with a smile and squatted down. "How did you know it was me?"

"Your footsteps are heavy; it can't be Youyou and Little Yichen. Apart from him, only you can enter and leave this manor freely."

After a pause, she smiled faintly and continued, "But he doesn't play such boring games like you."

Hua Jin stuck out his tongue and said, "Sister, you're really something. Everyone says that pregnancy makes one dimwitted for three years. That's not true at all. You've become smarter after getting pregnant!"

She raised her hand, threatening to hit him. "I'm always smart, okay? Stop talking nonsense," she said in a huff.

As she spoke, she turned back and continued with what she was doing.

Hua Jin, on the other hand, stood by the side and watched in silence, for some reason finding much enjoyment in this quiet moment.

Just like that, he watched her carefully watering the plants, one hand supporting the flower stalk, the other holding the spray can, as though afraid that she might misaim.

Hua Jin observed her side profile. It was peaceful and warm. Even though she could not see and her gaze was not focused on anything in particular, there was a gentleness in her eyes that he had never seen before.

Ever since that accident, due to her pregnancy and her loss of sight, she had stopped working and instead stayed at home to rest.

Outside of his own work, Hua Jin would spend time with her.

He found that staying by her side had a calming effect on himself, no matter how frustrated he was.

As she watered the plants, Yun Shishi asked curiously, "You don't seem busy recently. Haven't you been taking on any work?"

Hua Jin replied matter-of-factly, "Of course I did. I took on quite a few jobs."

"Well… I wouldn't have guessed."

She put the watering can down, stood up, turned around, and groped for a seat with both hands.

Hua Jin immediately helped her to the seat.

"You claim to have taken on many assignments, but you've been coming over here so often. You don't seem busy at all."

"Isn't that only because I want to spend more time with you? Outside of work, the rest of my time is spent here." The man sounded annoyed.

This villa was huge and had many empty rooms.

Mu Yazhe had arranged for a room that was specially for Hua Jin so that he could stay here. After all, he had a lot of work to do, so he was less worried knowing that Shishi had company.

Initially, Hua Jin felt a little awkward. He felt like he was playing gooseberry.

However, Yun Shishi told him to treat them like family and to feel free to stay.

Only then did he feel more at ease.
