"Ajax, try to stay focus all the time when we enter the cave," Paulin warned Ajax as they entered the cave slowly.

Ajax nodded his head in reply and maintained a certain degree of alertness.

Soon, they entered the cave, which was completely devoid of light and completely silent.

Just looking at it made them raise their guard against any unknown beings in the dark.

'Should I use the fire technique to create the fire?' seeing the pitch-black darkness, Ajax silently thought.

"Ajax, just wait,"

Just as he was about to generate the fire from his essence of nature, he heard Paulin's voice.

Ajax didn't know why Paulin said that, but he soon saw a shinning paper in Paulin's hand which slowly hovered into the air.

"A light talisman?" Ajax was surprised by the light talisman.

"Yes, you know I am a talisman collector, right?" Paulin laughed as he said.

"Yes," Ajax replied with a small smile.

All the squad members knew that Paulin would collect any type of talisman that he encounters.

For example, when they went to the market square, Paulin bought a set of defence type talisman.

So, Ajax was not shocked at the light talisman but little surprised as the light talisman was typically a rare one.

With the light talisman, the surrounding darkness disappeared, making them feel comfortable as they were able to see the interior of the cave.

"Senior brother, what are those drawings?" Ajax pointed at the drawings on the cave.

"Huh?" Paulin looked at the direction in which Ajax pointed his finger.

On the cave's walls, he saw some markings which were filled some profound knowledge in them.

"These are drawn by weapons and I think they were called Weapon Markings," Paulin said while observing the weird drawings on the wall.

'Kekeke,'

All of a sudden, a ghostly laugh, which was low-pitched but easily heard by them in the silent cave.

"Who's there?" Paulin and Ajax immediately became alerted and stood with their backs touching each other while checking the entire cave with their eyes.

'No need to worry as it was a just a level 1 testing zone for the cultivator, keke,' a humanoid figure emerged from a corner of the cave and slowly walked towards them.

Although they were able to hear the voice clearly, they were not able to see the distant humanoid figure clearly until it came within the range of the light talisman.

The humanoid figure was completely formed by black gas with no eyes.

It only had a mouth. With which it continuously released a ghostly laugh.

"Who are you?"

Although they were scared by the look of the humanoid figure, they mustered their courage and asked at the same time.

"As long as you comprehend any of the weapon markings on the wall, you can leave the cave, Keke," it stopped in a few steps away from them and said without answering their question.

"First of all, say who are you? and what is this place?"

When he heard the words of the humanoid figure, Paulin paused for a moment and started thinking about something.

However, Ajax, with his previously mustered courage, asked the being in front of him with a frown.

'I will answer, only if you comprehend any one of those, keke,' the figure said while pointing its finger at the drawings on the wall.

"Ajax, let's leave first," 

Surprisingly, Paulin said to Ajax all of a sudden, making him confused, but he didn't ask anything and just followed Paulin towards the exit of the cave.

'You can't leave unless you comprehend it, keke,' the humanoid figure didn't stop Ajax and Paulin from leaving as he laughed with its ghostly laugh.

Just as they were about to leave the cave, a barrier stopped them from leaving the cave.

"What?"

Both Paulin and Ajax were shocked and turned to look at the humanoid figure.

'Now, you believe me right? Keke,' The figure replied with the laugh as usual.

"Senior Brother, what's wrong with you. Let's just comprehend those markings and learn more about the never-returning cave and complete the mission," Ajax suggested Paulin about comprehending those markings and learn more about the Never-returning cave.

According to him, if he completes the mission, he could learn more about the never-returning cave, which would help him, in completing the system mission.

Another reason, he wanted to try because he assumed Captain Edmond also comprehended some markings, and because of it, he returned from the never-returning cave.

However, why Edmond didn't announce his achievement to the world was still a mystery for them.

So he wanted to finish comprehending a weapon marking and reveal all the mysteries about the never-returning cave.

"Ajax, I think, there is something wrong with that being. It looks like a being from the demon. So it's better to not listen to it," Paulin replied to Ajax's question and looked at the humanoid figure with a cold expression on his face.

'Yes, I am from a demon but I can't do anything as I don't have a form or can't use any of my techniques,' 

the humanoid figure that was covered with black smoke said and stopped for a moment before continuing, "However, one thing is sure, if you want to leave, then comprehend those markings; otherwise, you can accompany me just like them."

The humanoid figure pointed its blurry finger at some visible places. Those places were entirely covered with human skeletons.

'Senior Brother, let's just do as it says,' Ajax tried to convince Paulin who was headstrong on not completing the task given by that blurry human figure.

It's not Paulin's fault in not believing the blurry human figure's words as he sensed that thing was from the demon world.

In general, there was a saying in the human world that was 'Never believe a Demon even at the cost of your life.'

So, Paulin, who believed that demons were not to be trusted, didn't want to follow the task given by it.

"You want to make me comprehend those markings? Sure. But, before that let me destroy you,"

 All of a sudden, Paulin rushed at the humanoid figure with a sword in his hand and slashed at the figure in front of him.
