Ambushed

When he left the five elemental world, Ajax ordered his demonic avatar to send him messages in only two cases.1

One, it was to report the progress of the mission he gave his three contracted humanoid beasts.

And the other one was to contact him in making important decisions or in case of emergency.

'Since it's been only a day since I left the five elemental world, I think something must have happened there,'

Ajax directly linked it to the second case and his facial expression became serious and silently ordered the system, 'System, connect me with him.'

He was not familiar with how to communicate with his demonic avatar from the other world. So, he took the system to help to communicate with the demonic avatar.

'Ding,

 Initiating the communication with the host's demonic avatar. 

'Ding,

 With the host's current strength, the host can only communicate with his demonic avatar for only 2 minutes. So, be quick.

As soon as he asked the system to connect with the demonic avatar, Ajax received a couple of system notifications that made Ajax shake his head.

'Only two minutes? I need to be quick,'

Even though he knew the two minutes was very less, he was not disappointed too much because 2 minutes was better than nothing.

Soon, the demonic avatar's projection appeared in front of Ajax with a countdown of 120 seconds beside it.

'You have got only 1 minute to finish what you want to say,'

Without wasting any time, Ajax directly urged his demonic avatar and waited for it to speak.

"Master, when we are on the spirit beasts clearing mission, three peak rank 6 spirit beasts ambushed us," Since it was Ajax's demonic avatar, it could sense there was not much time for them to communicate with each other and directly came to the point.

'What?'

Ajax was shocked when he heard his demonic avatar's words and silently hoped, 'I hope there are fewer casualties.

He knew that his three spirit beasts in the five elemental world didn't die because if they do, then he would get the system notification; however, that doesn't mean they were not severely injured or crippled.

Moreover, his contracted spirit beasts were not alone in hunting down the unevolved spirit beasts in the Shixato wilds as they have their own army and he hoped there should not be huge losses.

"Even though with the help of Elder Qwerek and other elders of the other two tribes, we killed those three spirit beasts that ambushed us, still Raweth and the other two contract spirit beasts are severely injured and it will take at least a month for their recovery. So, I came to report that the mission will take longer than expected."

Ajax didn't disturb his demonic avatar and waited until he finished speaking.

Once the demonic avatar finished speaking, Ajax replied with a calm tone, "Since there is no time limit for the mission, then there is no need to worry about it and inform them that I don't want them to take any risk and only when they are completely healed, they have to continue the mission."

Even though his tone was calm, he was feeling terrible inside his heart as he thought, 'I should have been there with them.'

Nevertheless, he knew it was not the time for that and continued speaking to his demonic avatar, "Is that all?"

Ajax noticed that there are still 30 seconds left in their two-minute communication, he asked his demonic avatar.

"There are many things but as you know we don't have time for it, master."

Demonic avatar bitterly shook his head before saying, "Let me say the information we gathered about the unevolved spirit beasts in the Shixato wilds."

Ajax didn't say anything and continued to listen to the demonic avatar's words as there was not much time left for it to disappear.

"All the unevolved spir..it be..asts a..re….,"

Before the demonic avatar could finish his sentence, the projection in front of Ajax flickered for a moment before disappearing into thin air.

"All the unevolved spirit beasts are? Damn...I should have stopped him from saying this when there are only less than 20 seconds for their communication,"

Those words left him in suspense that made Ajax facepalm himself as he regretted allowing the demonic avatar to speak when the main thing that the demonic avatar had come to report was over.

'Sigh...once I meet Keshe and attend the selection tests for becoming a disciple of the 'Six Vagrant Cultivator' was over, I need to enter the five elemental world once again,'

Ajax sighed as he decided to enter the five elemental world once again after the two important things he had in a week from now.

Thinking back to his demonic avatar's words, Ajax felt something was off about the ambush on his contracted spirit beasts.

'System, when can I communicate with my demonic avatar once again?'

Soo, Ajax asked the system about his next communication with his demonic avatar.

 At least one week or more. 

 Note:- The more frequently you communicate with your demonic avatar over long distances, the duration of the communication along with the intervals between each communication will be increased and decreased respectively.

The system sent a notification that made Ajax's jaws drop because he didn't expect to wait a week for his next communication with the demonic avatar.

'But this note is hopeful,'

Looking at the note on the holographic screen, Ajax felt hopeful because in the future he could communicate for more time with less cooldown between two communications.
