Elder Su
The next day, Qin Yan walked out of the school after the final bell rang.2
As she got near the school gate, she saw a familiar figure lingering there. It looked like he was searching for someone and Qin Yan knew that this someone was none other than her.
She walked towards him and greeted, "Elder Tang."
Tang Yin turned around and saw a beautiful girl greeting him, "You are...?"
"Qin Yan."
Elder Tang was surprised looking at her. She had changed so much that he found it difficult to associate her with the earlier fat and ugly girl.
At his age, Elder Tang had seen many things so he regained his composure after a slight surprise.
He said, "Miss Qin, hello, I was looking for you."
Qin Yan glanced at Elder Tang and asked, "May I ask why are you here?"
"Can we talk somewhere else? It doesn't seem right to speak at your school gate."
"Sure, no problem."
Qin Yan was confident that Elder Tang did not come to her for any trouble and seeing his amiable attitude, she knew that the patient she saved last time must be fine.
Thus, Qin Yan was curious about the reason of Elder Tang approaching her.
Seeing that Qin Yan had agreed, Elder Tang said politely, "I have reserved a table at a tea house. Will Miss Qin be comfortable with that?"
Qin Yan nodded, "No problem."

It was the first time Qin Yan had visited a teahouse. She was amazed at its ambience which was much more detailed than any of the hotels she had visited.
The teahouse surrounded by a garden which was made up of elements necessary for the accomplishment of the tea gathering and for meditation before entering the tea house. A stone path allowed the progression of the guests.
Near the tea house was a stone water-basin, where the guests had to cleanse their hands and their mouths before entering the tea room without shoes through a crawling-in entrance. This low and square small door separated the quiet tea space from the bustling outside environment.
Elder Tang explained to Qin Yan that this crawling entrance meant that people of any social status or rank have to bend and crawl in through the small door to enter. This had to be done on all-fours, on clenched fists, sliding on the knees.
When they entered the room, Qin Yan saw that all materials used in the tea room were simple and rustic. With limited views on the outside environment to favor concentration, windows were modest and covered with certain paper panels, allowing sunlight to enter the room.
An old man was sitting in the host's place preparing tea graciously. When he saw Elder Tang entering with Qin Yan, he welcomed them warmly.
Elder Tang introduced the old man, "Miss Qin, this is Elder Su. I brought you here mainly to meet him."
Qin Yan looked at the man in front of her with tears in her eyes. She reminisced the moments she had spent with him learning almost everything from him.
She remembered when she first met him, how she acknowledged him as her master and how she made him proud by becoming the best doctor in the country.
She could not believe that she could meet him again in this lifetime.
That's right, Elder Su was the master and teacher of Mo Ran (Qin Yan in her previous life). The western medicine Mo Ran learnt was from Military Medical Association but the accupuncture skills she had were imbibed in her by Elder Su.
Qin Yan greeted the elder emotionally, "Grandpa...cough..Elder Su, my name is Qin Yan. Nice to meet you."
Elder Su was surprised seeing tears in the young girl's eyes. This was the first time someone had greeted him so emotionally. Otherwise, people would either show fear or respect in front of him.
Her eyes reminded him of his favourite student. He couldn't help but have a favourable impression of the young lady, "Miss Qin, please have a seat."
Qin Yan controlled her emotions and got seated.
Elder Tang gazed at the interaction between the two with a surprise. Usually Elder Su was not easy to get along with. But today there was something different with his demeanor.
Elder Tang then initiated the conversation, "Elder Su, she is the lady I told you about."
Elder Su said surprisingly, "I didn't expect her to be in high school."
Qin Yan was confused at what the two elders were talking about.
Seeing her confused expression, Elder Tang chuckled. He then explained, "Miss Qin, you remember saving the pregnant lady back then, right?"
Qin Yan nodded.
Elder Tang then continued, "It was just that I had taken a video of the treatment you administered her. That time I was not sure about your actions so I kept the video to myself. But when your diagnosis and treatment came to be correct, I shared the video with Elder Su. Elder Su wanted to meet you in person, so here we are."
Qin Yan nodded in understanding. Then she turned to Elder Su with inquiring eyes.
Elder Su looked at Qin Yan and asked, "Miss Qin, as far as I can see, you are a high school student. You still dared to administer accupuncture on a patient with such a complicated case. May I know how you did this?"
Qin Yan heard the doubt and anger in Elder Su's words, but she replied calmly, "Elder Su, although I am a high school student, I can guarantee you that my capabilities are no less than all the oriental doctors out there."
Elder Su was surprised at her answer. If he had not seen the video, he would have the impression that the young lady was boasting without knowing anything.
But after watching the video, he understood that her confidence came from her skills.
Elder Su asked, "May I know from where did Miss Qin learn her skills?"
Qin Yan gazed at Elder Su. She could not tell him that he was the one who taught her everything. So she said, "I am really sorry Elder Su, but it is not convenient for me to answer your question."
