Elder Tang continued explaining the case, "To put it bluntly, his brain is already damaged, so he can't be treated. Unless someone can open his head and clean up the damage, he can't be treated. And doing this will put his life in extreme danger."2
"I want you to take a look at him and see if you are able to cure him," Elder Tang concluded.
Qin Yan pursed her lips and stayed silent for a minute. She looked into Elder Tang's eyes and smiled, "Okay."
"That's good then. Let me call someone to bring that patient here. You can check him right away, right?"
"Yes. I have no problem with it."

After only 15 minutes, they heard a knock on the door, and when the door pushed opened, a frail looking boy entered with his parents.
Elder Tang explained the situation to the child's parents. They were ordinary farmers and they were defeated when the doctor said that their son could not be cured.
When they heard that there can be a chance for their son to be cured, their eyes shone and they agreed immediately.
Qin Yan walked to the child's side and took his pulse.
His parents watched nervously waiting for Qin Yan to say something.
After a while, Qin Yan let go of the child's hand and said, "It's difficult to cure, but it can be done. He can be treated by using some medicinal herbs to nourish him."
She paused and then continued, "But after he is cured, he won't recover immediately. His mind will only mature like a normal person, and he will be a few years later than his peers."
Hearing this, the child's parents cried tears of joy. His mother covered her mouth in disbelief and said, "Really? Can he really be cured?"
As long as he could recover, it wouldn't matter if he grew up slowly. He would grow up eventually. What normal people would know, so would he.
Qin Yan nodded, "If it is okay with you, I will treat him with acupuncture every day. I'll give you some medicine later. Take one set of medicine every two days. When the first stage is over, we'll start the second stage. If nothing goes wrong, he'll be cured in about six months."
Hearing this, the parents of child were filled with joy. They agreed readily with Qin Yan. Elder Tang also nodded.

The next day, Qin Yan asked the child to sit down. The child sat down obediently. Maybe because he was a fool, he didn't cry or make a fuss about being treated. He looked at everything with his curious eyes.
Qin Yan took the silver needles and inserted them without hesitation.
After a while, the child's head was pierced with dozens of silver needles.
His mother's heart ached and she shed tears.
The child looked at his mother and said, "Mother, don't cry. It doesn't hurt at all. It's just a little hot and it feels good."
Many needles were in his head. It looked scary, but it really didn't hurt at all.
"The young lady's technique is better than mine. If she says it doesn't hurt, it doesn't. Don't worry," Elder Su spoke.
He had come to the hospital to witness Qin Yan's skills and he was quite impressed seeing her technique.
After an hour, Qin Yan removed the needles from the child's head and handed over the herbs to his parents and gave instructions how to administer them.
She then conversed with Elder Su for some time.

As it was a Sunday, Qin Yan didn't have to go to school. After coming out of the hospital, she realised that she was basically free today.
Although mid-term exams were scheduled in next week, Qin Yan was not worried. She had prepared well and with her talent, she was confident enough to win the bet against Yang Lin.
As she had some time today, she decided to relax and rest her mind today.
Sometimes, continuous work can make you feel exhausted. Even if you like what you do, at some point of time, you would definitely get tired. When that time came, you would start hating your work. This is why it is necessary to relax in a while.
Qin Yan had the option of hanging out with Han Jun and others but she chose to spend some alone time. She wanted to spend time with herself.
After leaving the hospital, she did not hail a taxi but strode on the road leisurely.
The blue sky was dotted with fluffy white clouds that drifted lazily in the gentle breeze. The roads shimmered in the heat of the midday sun. Tiny specks of dust seemed to dance in the shaft of afternoon sunlight which bathed the buildings in its warm light.
Qin Yan strolled forward and saw a park ahead. She walked towards it calmly with a relieved smile on her face.
When she entered the park, it felt like she had left behind the hustle and bustle of the city. The sound of the horns, the pollution, and all that rush of markets was nowhere to be seen.
There was lush greenery and the park was designed very aesthetically. She could see the shrubs trimmed into animal shapes.
There were large shady trees and walkways along with full grassy lawns like soft cotton.
On both side of walkways and in the center area there were flower beds which were bright in color and gave a fresh look to the whole area of the park.
Especially since it was the weekend, the park was much crowded.
There were many people from different age groups. Some were just sitting on the lawns, others were walking, while joggers doing their jogging.
In the play area, there were children having a great time on the slides and the swings.
Qin Yan just walked around and enjoyed the scenic beauty, the chirping birds, the fluttering butterflies.
The sun would be setting in a while so Qin Yan sat on the bench and enjoyed the beautiful view with the cool breeze and the city skyline in the distance.
When she came back to the house, she felt extremely relaxed. The time that she had spent in the park was a welcome break from her daily routine.
