Going to the capital
Qin Yan asked, "Elder Su, when do we have to go?"1
Elder Su replied, "If you are okay with it, we have to reach there probably by next month. Since they have to adjust according to my time schedule, we can adjust it so that it would be convenient for you as well. But next month is the limit. We cannot delay any further than that."
Qin Yan thought carefully and realised that next month was the National Brain Challenge in Beijing as well.
She could use the competition as a cover to visit the patient. Her family would not be able to stop her or question her.
She thought about every aspect and then told Elder Su about the competition.
Elder Su nodded in understanding and said, "Okay then. You can go first for your competition. I will come 1-2 days later. Then we can visit the patient when you are there for the competition. Is it fine with you?"
Qin Yan : Yes, no problem!

A month passed by just like that and the day of the competition came.
Early that morning, Qin Yan had met up with the rest of the team which included Qin Muran. Together, they had set off toward Beijing University.
Qin Muran burnt with jealousy seeing Qin Yan included in the team. But she couldn't do anything since this was the school's decision.
A male teacher from the Class One led the group. He wore a pair of spectacles as well as a plain white shirt.
This time, Director of Shengyang High School Guo Xingren also came along with them.
Director Guo was a senior teacher of Shengyang high school and was now responsible for all the external activities of Shengyang. He had a great reputation and was respected by many.
The group boarded the bus that had been arranged by the school and set off for the airport.
The male teacher held a microphone and stood at the front of the coach. He introduced himself to the classes other than Class One, "Let me introduce myself. I am Mr. Lao. I studied in Shengyang High school and later graduated from Beijing University. I came back to Shengyang remained after graduation."
"All the students of Class One already know me well. I'm quite a chill person, so please be at ease when you're with me. Feel free to tell me anything."
"Apart from Qin Muran and Jing Zhao, this is everyone's first time participating in this competition."
Jing Zhao was the person who secured third place this time thanks to Qin Yan. He and Qin Muran would always fight for the first place but he would always be defeated. So being the top two rankers, they had attended many competitions, National Brain Challenge being the one.
In order to ensure their comfort, the school had arranged a 30-seat bus for them.
Everyone had two seats. That gave them a chance to spread out and there was quite a distance between their seats.
Thankfully, the vehicle had been equipped with a PA system. This way, Mr. Lao didn't have to strain his voice to speak in order for everyone to hear him.
"Don't be too stressed." Mr. Lao chuckled. "Relax and perform as you usually do. Don't put yourself under too much pressure. It will cause you to screw up."
"All right, I won't talk too much. They'll announce the specific rules once all the six groups have gathered at Beijing University. Everyone should relax for now." After he had said all this, he took his seat.
Unexpectedly, Director Guo picked up the microphone a few moments later. "But don't relax too much. Become the champions of this competition!"
Mr. Lao: "…"
Everyone: "…"
From the looks of it, the effects of Director Guo's provocations were quite potent.
No one dared to breathe too loudly at that point. Everyone was utterly silent.
They reached the airport from where they boarded the plane to the capital.
After almost two and a half hours, the group landed in the capital.
From the Beijing airport, everyone proceeded towards the bus which had been arranged for them to reach the Beijing University.
Sitting in the bus, Qin Yan felt a melancholy seeing the roads in Beijing. This was the city where she had lived in her previous life. She felt a rare sense of nostalgia and happiness after coming here.
Although it was not much time since her transmigration, she felt like a decade had passed by since she lived in the capital.
Finally, they reached Beijing University.
Mr. Lao got off the bus first. He stood by the door and got ready to help Director Guo off.
However, Director Guo seemed to be the picture of health. His steps were light, comparable to that of a youth. He did not give Mr. Lao a chance to help him.
Following which, Han Jun and the rest of the team also got off the bus, one by one.
Everyone arranged themselves into an orderly line. Since Qin Yan was the dark horse, her classmates protected her by sandwiching her in the middle of the line with Qin Muran standing in the front.
This was how the team arranged themselves into formation.
"Nice to meet you, Director Guo." A teacher who was in charge of ushering the guests came forward to welcome them. "Hello everyone, I'm Mr. Liao. Welcome to Beijing University."
Before Director Guo could reply, he heard the sound of hearty laughter. "Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Old Guo, I already guessed that you'd make a personal visit this year. Hence, I specially came over to take a look at you. I can't believe that my guess was right. I didn't make this visit in vain."
Director Guo couldn't stand his arch enemy Director Liu's arrogant expression. He smirked and said, "It's been many years since I last visited. This time, most of our students are competing for the first time. Hence, I decided to follow along and watch them."
"Oh, you came over for the sake of these students?" Director Liu clearly didn't believe Director Guo's claims.
