Listening to Elder Su, Qin Yan nodded and proceeded towards the hospital room. As soon as she reached the door, her path was blocked by two bodyguards.1

Elder Su looked at the situation and told Xi Jung, "Mr. Xi, don't worry. If anything goes wrong, I will take responsibility."

Xi Jung the nodded at the bodyguards and receiving their boss' permission, they stepped aside allowing Qin Yan to enter.

Xi Jung gazed at Elder Su, his expression clearly asking for an explanation.

Elder Su sighed. Having a disciple was not easy. If it was not for Qin Yan, nobody would have dared to question him.

But he understood. The young master of Xi family was too important of a person. He had already been attacked once because of which he was still lying on the bed.

It was not surprising for the Xi family to maintain such vigilance. Someone had correctly quoted, 'Once bitten, twice shy.'

This quote explained all the actions of Xi Jung.

Looking at the inquiring gaze of the young man, Elder Su said, "Mr. Xi, you might have heard that I have retired from the medical circle, right?"

Xi Jung nodded confusedly. 'What does this have to do with Qin Yan's capabilities?'

"You must be wondering why I am saying all this, so I want to clarify that my retirement was not a rumour," Elder Su told Xi Jung.

"After the death of my one and only disciple, I didn't wish to stay in the industry as I felt there was nothing striving for."

He continued, "But one fine day, my friend showed me a video which made my blood boil again and which reignited my will to continue treating the patients. Do you want to see the video?"

Xi Jung was muddled but he still nodded.

Elder Su took out his phone from his pocket and opened the video. He clicked on the play button and handed the phone to Xi Jung.

Xi Jung looked at the scene in the video. The more he looked, the more shocked he got. After the completion of the video, Xi Jung's face was full of different emotions. He could not explain how he was feeling.

Elder Su interrupted his thoughts, "Since you know Qin Yan from before, you can recognize the girl in the video, right?"

Xi Jung nodded absentmindedly. Of course, he recognised Qin Yan.

Elder Su added, "I won't go into details of the patient but you can understand what the situation was after hearing everything in the video. To tell you the truth, if I was there in place of Qin Yan, I would have hesitated atleast once. But she treated the patient without any hesitation. So I can say that this is her talent speaking."

"After watching the video, I didn't want to let go of such talented seed and thus I proposed taking her as a disciple. Obviously, it was not just this video but I arranged a test which if she passed, I would officially recognise her as a disciple."

"Now she is almost done with the test and I am sure that she has passed after seeing the improvement in the patient. This is why I brought her here," Elder Su completed.

Xi Jung was totally stunned after hearing Elder Su. It took him some time to digest the information that Elder Su provided him.

Meanwhile, in the hospital room.

Qin Yan entered the room and saw that the room was no different from a presidential suite of a five star hotel.

The door had led her to a spacious room which contained the patient bed and two sofas for the seating of any visitors.

The side of the spacious room had a door which led to another room which seemed like a bedroom.

The room also had an attached washroom equipped with all facilities. The room also had a unique fragrance sprayed in it which was not the usual disinfectant smell present in the hospitals. Instead this was a soothing and calming fragrance.

She saw that the machines surrounding the patient bed were all the most advanced versions that were available in the whole world.

As she walked closer to the bed, her heart started beating faster. She didn't know why it was happening, but her footsteps didn't stop even in her nervous state.

When she reached the hospital bed, she was shocked beyond words. Her mouth fell open as she could not believe the situation.

A figure lay in the hospital bed.

He slept quietly and even his breathing was very, very light.

If not for the rhythmic sounds of the instruments on both sides of the bed indicating that his various vital conditions were normal and stable, people would have thought that he was already dead.

Although the man had been lying down for few months, he showed no signs of sloppiness, not even stubble.

Even lying down, one could tell that he was tall. He was about 1.9 metres tall.

For the past few months, he had been relying on nutrient fluids to maintain his life. He was already thin and weak.

His skin also exuded an abnormal cold whiteness.

His face was unusually handsome. The man's high cheekbones perfectly accentuated his face, his ink black hair casually draping down.

His eyebrows were as dark as ink, and his eyelashes were as long and thick as two small brushes.

Anybody who saw him would wonder how attractive would those eyes be when they opened.

Qin Yan looked at the man on the hospital bed and tears gathered up in her eyes. Before she could know, she had started sobbing uncontrollably.

Xi Ting could hear everything subconsciously. Although his mind was unconscious, as in other patients, his subconscious mind was still active.

He heard a sound of someone crying which made his heart ache badly. From the time he fell into coma, he had heard countless sobbing of his family members. But it didn't affect him as he had already given up his life.

But this sound made him wanted to get up and stop the person from crying. He tried hard but he couldn't open his eyes.

Just as he was trying hard to wake up, he heard a woman's voice, "Moonpie...."
