Xi Jung was puzzled by his brother's reaction, "Brother, who are you talking about?"2

"I heard a female voice near my ears. Where is she?" Xi Ting asked anxiously.

'Maybe she survived. Maybe god has given me another chance. I won't let her go now at any cost.'

Hearing what Xi Ting said, Xi Jung and Elder Su looked towards Qin Yan.

Xi Ting was immersed in his thoughts, but when he didn't get any answer, he looked up. He followed his brother's gaze and saw a beautiful woman standing a few metres apart.

Xi Ting looked at his brother and asked angrily, "Who is she? Why are you looking at her? Xi Jung, I don't want you to fool around with women here. I asked you a question. Answer me."

"Brother, I am not fooling around. But when you showed signs of waking up, only she was in this room. So you must have heard her voice. She came here to diagnose you," Xi Jung explained everything.

Xi Ting's eyes grew frosty. She was not here. Instead an unknown woman was present in his ward. He hated the presence of other women around him. Although he was not disgusted to her presence like he felt for other women, he could not accept her presence at this point of time.

"I want to rest now," he told Xi Jung.

Then he looked towards Qin Yan and said, "Also I don't want any unknown people in my ward. If anyone dares to come close to me, then don't blame me for ruthlessness."

Qin Yan was angered by Xi Ting, "Young Master Xi, if you don't know anything, you should refrain yourself from making wild guesses. I came here with my Master. I have nothing to do with Second young master Xi."

Xi Jung was baffled. This was the first time someone had spoken to his brother in such manner.

Xi Ting ignored Qin Yan and said, "Elder Su, as for your question, I am sorry but it is something personal to me which I cannot disclose. I hope you understand."

Xi Ting was extremely respectful towards Elder Su for two reasons - first Elder Su was a divine doctor and second he was her master.

Elder Su said in understanding, "It's okay, Young Master Xi, now that you need to rest, I shall leave."

Elder Su then left with Qin Yan in the tow.

After the master-disciple duo left, the doctor in charge approached Xi Ting, "Young Master Xi, we have to conduct your full body checkup to know if everything is fine. If there are no other problems, then you can be discharged."

The doctor added, "Since you have been in coma for few months, your muscles must be cramped. So I will arrange a physiotherapist for you. He will guide you with various exercises that will make your body return to normal."

Xi Ting nodded at doctor's instructions.

After the Xi family left the hospital room, Xi Ting fell into silence.

The memories that he was running from, came back to him in waves.

He had previously called his subordinates to confirm everything. Now he knew that she was no more. She had left him behind.

A tear escaped his beautiful eyes. Maybe she wanted him to live his life properly, so she had awakened him by calling his name out.

He swore to respect her wishes. He would live properly from now on, but the void left in his heart by her would not be filled in this life. He had decided to live with her memories.

Meanwhile, Qin Yan returned to S city with her teammates. She pushed Xi Ting out of her mind as her anger had not dispelled till now.

When the bus that Qin Yan was riding on stopped in front of the Shengyang High school, they all realized that Principal Mu was personally waiting for them.

As soon as Director Guo got off the bus, the principal walked up and greeted him with a handshake. "Director Guo, thank you for your hard work."

The director's lips twitched a little, but he didn't have the chance to say anything as the students were coming off the bus as well.

The principal shook the hand of every student with a smile. "Good work out there."

Qin Yan was the last to get off the bus. The moment the principal saw her, tears filled his eyes.

He grabbed Qin Yan's hand emotionally and shook it vigorously. "Qin Yan! Good job! You are the pride of our school!"

"I was just doing my job as a student." Qin Yan smiled.

"Well said! Well said!" The principal could not stop smiling. "No matter what you think, you deserve to be rewarded. I've had a flag made with your name and the words, Pride of Shengyang High school, on it."

Qin Yan stared at the principal wordlessly. You didn't have to go that far…

"Not only that," the principal continued, "You'll also get a monetary reward and the title of Shengyang High school's Outstanding Student."

This last honor was the most important one, as it would help her a lot in the future.

Since vehicles weren't allowed inside the campus, they had to walk back from the gate in front of the school building.

As soon as they started walking, they realized that a lot of students were lining the paths, cheering for them.

The moment they saw Qin Yan, they began to chant, "Wherever Qin Yan goes, the enemies perish!"

The cheers filled the school grounds instantly.

Qin Yan was rendered speechless once again as the slogan did not fit her personality. It made her seem like an arrogant and rude antagonist in a story.

"Qin Yan! We saw the livestream," someone suddenly shouted.

"I did too. You're our pride!"

"Well done!"

Everyone was extraordinarily excited after witnessing what Qin Yan had done in the competition.

She had completely outplayed her opponents and achieved a one-sided victory for Shengyang High school.

She was able to wipe out all the respect that Jixia Academy had been able to accrue for being dominant during the past few years.

"Thank you." Qin Yan smiled and bowed.

"You don't have to bow," the students said. "Go and get some rest. You deserve it!"
