All the people who wanted to defend Qin Muran at this time went quiet.

After all, nobody would want to get themselves humiliated in front of entire school.

In the school forum, everybody had their nicknames or pen names as their usernames instead of their real names, so they could say any nasty thing anonymously.

But once you go in front of the school, you will get exposed. Nobody had the guts to do so.

The whole school forum was filled with people demanding apology from Qin Muran.

Eventually a person set up a petition for demanding apology from Qin Muran and asked other students to sign it.

After many signatures she sent the petition to the school office.

Director Guo was sitting in Principal Mu's office. He reported the incident of Qin Muran's words after the competition.

Principal Mu frowned, "Director Guo, I understand what you are saying but we cannot punish the student for putting her opinion forward. Moreover, student Qin Muran also contributed to our school's win."

As soon as Principal Mu said this, he heard hurried knocking on the door, "Come in!"

A teacher entered the office with a pale face, "Sir.."

"Teacher Gong, what's the matter?" Principal Mu asked seeing cold sweat on the teacher's forehead.

"Sir, you need to take a look at this!" the teacher handed the tablet to Principal Mu.

Principal Mu was puzzled but he still took the tablet to browse the contents. As he continued reading further, his expression darkened.

After going through everything, he handed the tablet to Director Guo.

When Director Guo saw the comments on the school forum, he clicked on the short video clip provided by some students.

As Director Guo watched the clip, he grew furious, "Nonsense!" he shouted standing up.

Then he turned to Principal Mu and asked, "Old Mu, what now?"

Principal Mu was shocked at how the situation developed. He could not understand why a top student of his school has stirred up so much trouble. He held his forehead in his hand and said to the teacher, "Ask Qin Muran to come to my office."

The teacher nodded and left the principal's office. As the principal was about to discuss the situation with Director Guo, the phone in his office rang.

Principal Mu received the call and after ending it, his face turned increasingly dark.

"What happened, Old Mu?" Director Guo asked worriedly.

"Parents of some girl students have started calling. They are asking if we imbibe in our students that girls are weaker than boys. They are furious and asking the school for explanation," Principal Mu sighed.

Director Guo also became worried, "Old Mu, it's natural for them to call. After all, in this modern world, where we should promote gender equality, one of our top students is saying that girls are weaker, that too on national stage."

"If we don't handle this situation well, the reputation of our school will plummet, specially in case of girls students."

"Parents will think that we are making their girls grow weaker, and our school will be labelled as that of orthodox teachings!"

Principal Mu nodded. He knew the severity of the situation. He didn't know how this matter escalated to this extent but now that it has gained so much attention, it was necessary to bring it down.

Qin Muran sat in the classroom with a pale face. The phone in her hand showed how the petitions asking for her apology were increasing exponentially.

Yang Lin and Mu Yuyin were sitting beside her. They were constantly arguing with the commentators and cursing badly.

But their comments were like water drops in the sea. Whenever they posted anything in favour of Qin Muran, they would be scolded badly by other students.

At this time, Teacher Gong came to the came and said, "Qin Muran, the principal is looking for you. Come with me to his office."

Qin Muran's face turned white. She was very afraid. Seeing their friend in this situation, Yang Lin and Mu Yuyin consoled her, "Muran, don't worry. You have contibuted to the school's win. Principal Mu must have called you to discuss the matter and calm it down."

Qin Muran did not believe her friends. She felt that the matter was too big to settle down, but she couldn't do anything other than going to the principal's office.

She stood up and followed the teacher to the principal's office.

Till Qin Muran came, Principal Mu had got dozens of calls. Some were from parents asking for explanation, some were from other school principals mocking him and some from school management to deal with the matter as soon as possible.

Right now, it seemed that there was a raging fire in Principal Mu's heart. Meanwhile Director Guo was already on the verge of losing his temper.

One sister brought glory to their school while the other brought down the school in mud.

Director Guo thought that if Qin Yan were to plead mercy for Qin Muran, they will have no choice but to give her face and forgive Qin Muran. He just wished that this doesn't happen.

What Director Guo didn't know that such scenario was impossible to happen. Qin Yan would never plead mercy for Qin Muran's actions.

When Qin Muran entered the principal's office, she felt the tense atmosphere in the room.

She broke the silence and greeted, "Principal Mu, good afternoon."

Then she turned to Director Guo and greeted, "Director Guo, good afternoon."

While Principal Mu only nodded to Qin Muran's greeting and asked her to take a seat, Director Guo said sarcastically, "Thanks to you, the afternoon is not good anymore."

Usually Director Guo was very amiable to his students, but once someone crossed his bottom line, he would show no mercy.

Qin Muran had done exactly this. While Director Guo was so happy at Shengyang High school winning the National Brain Challenge after five years beautifully, his happiness was taken away by few words from Qin Muran. This made him very angry.

Principal Mu glanced at Director Guo and signalled him to keep his temper in control.

Then he turned to Qin Muran and saw that she was on the verge of crying.

He sighed. Principal Mu felt that if he had turned five years younger because of the happiness Qin Yan brought him, he must have turned ten years older by stress of Qin Muran's matter.

He gazed at Qin Muran and asked, "Student Qin Muran, I guess you must have known why I have called you here. If you don't know then let me tell you that you are summoned in my office because of the things you said at the National Brain Challenge competition."

"Now a petition has reached me that requires you to apologize and take responsibility for your words. What are your thoughts on this matter?"

Qin Muran's eyes turned red. Her thoughts came true. The principal was asking her for the explanation.

She sobbed, "Principal, I didn't mean it like that. I just wanted to show my stand. People have misunderstood me."

Principal Mu had a headache seeing her cry, "Student Qin, please stop crying. It will not solve the matter. No matter what you meant, people have come to the conclusion that Shengyang High school promotes orthodox thinking that one of its top students thinks like that."

"Moreover, on the National stage, when you represent the school, your words also represent the school's teachings. Why do you think participants are so magnanimous on the stage? Do you think that it is their own thinking? No, most of them just say nice and ideal things just to show how their school grooms them."2

"You have done the opposite. I am afraid that this matter would not settle down until you clarify everything in public. Whatever your thoughts were, clarify them in the public. Also make sure that you apologize sincerely. Otherwise, I would have to take serious penal action against you."

"Also make sure that your thoughts are that of your own and have nothing to do with our school, understand?" Principal Mu asked sternly.

Principal Mu was extremely angry. Although he was trying to control himself, his raging aura was not to be underestimated. Qin Muran was trembling all over.

"Old Mu, she is Qin Yan's sister. What if Qin Yan pleads mercy for her?" Director Guo asked.

Principal Mu sighed again, "Qin Yan is the pride of our school. Moreover she had won such a big competition for us, we can naturally not ignore her. So if she asks to let her sister go, then we will have to think of another way to deal with this matter."
