I don't believe in coincidences

Qin Yan woke up and tidied up her quilt. She then freshened up and went for a run. Today she ran for two extra rounds after which she got ready wearing casual clothes.

Since it was weekend today, she did not need to go to school. The school did organize self study batches but Qin Yan did not attend them as she was already ahead in her studies.

She then fried an egg and warmed some milk for breakfast. She sat on the dining table and browsed the news while have her breakfast.

She had this habit from the very beginning. Waking up, morning exercise, freshening up and then having breakfast while browsing the news. It was her daily routine.

These days she had immense peace as she did not have to face the hypocritical Qin family and living alone was already her cup of tea.

Also today she was exceptionally happy. The reason was none other than it was weekend and she could have her favourite cookies.

She had even run two extra rounds so that she could eat her favourite things without hesitation.

Qin Yan took a cloth bag with her and skipped out of her condo so as to visit the grocery store.

Just as she stepped forward towards the elevator, the lift door opened.

When she saw the people inside the elevator, her eyes opened wide and her jaw dropped. She was utterly shocked.

'How did they know that I live here!' Qin Yan thought.

"Sister Yan!" a crisp childish voice entered her ears which brought her back to her senses.

When the elevator door opened, Xi Jung was equally shocked as Qin Yan. He also wondered what she was doing here.

While the little guy was pleasantly surprised. As soon as he saw Qin Yan, he thought that he was dreaming. He rubbed his eyes to clear the dream but Qin Yan was still standing in front of him.

This made him realise that his sister Yan was really present in front of him. He called out to her before rushing towards her.

The little guy hugged Qin Yan's leg and looked towards her.

Qin Yan bent down and picked up the little guy in her arms, "Darling, why are you here?"

The little guy scratched his head and replied, "I am here to live with my father."

Qin Yan grew more confused. She looked at Xi Jung asking for the answers to the questions in her mind.

Xi Jung sighed, 'What kind of situation is this! And why am I always the one to give clarification to everyone!'

He glanced at Qin Yan and said, "My brother lives here in 1801," then he asked Qin Yan, "Miss Qin, how come you are here?"

Qin Yan replied, "I live in 1802."

"Eh? How come? Didn't you live in Qin villa? Then how do you live here?" Xi Jung was puzzled.

"Oh, I moved out of my family house and now I live here. This is my friend's condominium."

Xi Jung nodded and asked in surprise, "Then does this mean that you are my brother's neighbour?"

"Yes, apparently."

"Did you know that my brother lives opposite to you?" Xi Jung asked again.

Qin Yan shook her head, "I have not seen your brother even once. Maybe he doesn't come out of his abode. So I didn't know that he is my neighbour."

Xi Jung nodded. It was understandable that Xi Ting did not come out of his condo as he was busy recuperating.

The little guy was unbothered by their conversation but as soon as he heard that Qin Yan lives opposite to his father, he was overjoyed.

"Sister Yan, are you going somewhere?" the little guy asked curiously.

Qin Yan gave a big smile thinking about her cookies, "Ohh yes, I am going to the grocery store to buy my favourite cookies. Does darling want to come with me?"

The little guy nodded frantically.

Both of them then looked at Xi Jung for his permission.

Xi Jung sighed, "Baby don't you want to see your father first?"

Qin Yan also looked at the little guy thinking that he had come so far to visit his father so he might be wishing to see him first.

The little bun looked at Qin Yan and then at Xi Jung. He hugged Qin Yan and said, "Sister Yan, we will come back in a short time, right?"

Qin Yan laughed at how cute her darling was acting, "Yes we will come back in 10-15 minutes."

Xi Jung looked at the young lady and his nephew who were behaving like they were in cahoots. He agreed, "Okay go."

Both Qin Yan and the little guy beamed at Xi Jung. Both of them stepped into the escalator hurriedly, afraid that Xi Jung might change his mind.

Xi Jung shook his head while smiling, 'These two are definitely in cahoots.'

He then rang the bell to his condominium.

Xi Ting opened the door and let him in. He looked around Xi Jung and noticing the absence of his son, he asked, "Where is Xiaobao?"

Xi Jung sighed again. Now he had to explain everything to his brother. He told Xi Ting everything from encountering Qin Yan to her taking the little devil to the grocery store.

Hearing what Xi Jung told him, Xi Ting frowned. He then glanced at his brother and said, "Oh yes, I forgot to ask you how do you know that girl. As far as I know, we don't have any relation to her."

Xi Jung nodded and told Xi Ting everything from the start when Qin Yan saved the little guy.

After knowing everything, Xi Ting confirmed again, "Have you investigated properly? There is no problem with this girl? But how can there be so many coincidences? I don't believe that nothing is going on."

Xi Jung understood his brother's concerns but even after repeatedly investigating Qin Yan, he did not find anything suspicious about her having ill intentions towards them.

Many things were different from what he investigated but there was no way of knowing them till Qin Yan herself tells about them.

"Brother, don't worry. If she really has ill intentions towards us and means harm, she will definitely reveal some hints over time. We just have to observe her carefully and we will be able to identify them," Xi Jung said thoughtfully.

"Yes, I think you are right. Anyway, what about Director Lu? Is he causing trouble again?" Xi Ting started talking about business with his brother.

After sometime, Xi Jung got a call from his assistant. He bade goodbye to Xi Ting and returned to the capital.

Meanwhile, the little guy entered the grocery store with Qin Yan hand in hand.

The appearance of a beautiful girl with an adorable child attracted people's attention.

[Look at the girl and that child. The girl is so beautiful and the child is so cute!]

[They may be mother and son. The genes of good looks run in their family.]

[Are you insane? The girl looks so young! How can she be a mother? Maybe she is his elder sister!]

[I am not insane. Nowadays young ladies maintain their looks so much. It is not impossible for her to be in her thirties but still look like she is in twenties!]

[Yes, you make sense. By the way, isn't she the same girl who was talking to the cakes and cookies the other day?]

[What? She was talking to the food? What was she talking about?]2

[Hehehe! She said that she can't eat them on weekdays and she will only eat them on Sunday. Otherwise she will have to workout more and her figure will be affected.]

[Yes, that day I was on the billing counter. I tried so hard controlling my laugh, I can't even explain how funny it was!]

[Then she might have come today to buy the cakes and cookies!]

The two sales girls laughed while conversing about Qin Yan.

Qin Yan and Xiaobao were unaware of people taking about them. They noticed people turning back to look at them but they were already used to this type of situations, so they just ignored them.

It was the first time that the little guy had visited such place. He didn't have any chances to visit the grocery store before so he looked at everything curiously.

Qin Yan found the little guy extremely adorable. She explained him whatever he was curious about.

"Darling, do you want to buy anything?" she asked.

The little guy shook his head. He was just curious which did not mean that he wanted to buy anything. He already had everything at his disposal.

Qin Yan then bought the little guy to the fast food section. She looked at her favourite cookies longingly.

The little guy saw Qin Yan's expression and giggled, "Sister Yan, do you like this?"

Qin Yan nodded not moving her gaze from the cookies.
