Memories

The next morning Qin Yan went for a run. After coming back, she freshened herself and took a shower. As today was a Sunday, she did not have to go out. So she wore comfortable home clothes and decided to study for the rest of the day.1

Just as she was going to prepare breakfast, the doorbell rang. 'Who is it so early in the morning!' she wondered.

Qin Yan then opened the door and saw the little bun standing in front of her. "Darling?"

Qin Yan welcomed the little guy confusedly in her abode.

"Dad is not eating breakfast. I am hungry!" the little guy rubbed his small belly and said to Qin Yan.

Qin Yan almost laughed out loud at the little prince's expression. As he was a child of few words, Qin Yan understood what he was trying to imply.

"Sit here first," Qin Yan brought the little bun to the sofa in the living room, "I will bring something to eat within a while." Qin Yan switched on the television, handed the remote to the little one and left for the kitchen.

The little guy looked around the living room and found his heart filled with warmth. Although the room was painted with cool colours, there were soft toys kept on the sofa. The flowers placed in the flower vase were fresh and gave a different feeling to him compared to his father's house which was monotonous.

On the television, a news channel was on and the little guy did not bother changing it since he was least interested in watching it.

After a while, Qin Yan stepped out of the kitchen with two bowls of cornflakes along with a glass of warm milk for the little one and a glass of fresh juice for herself.

She placed the breakfast on the table and asked, "Darling, is this to your liking or should I make something else?"

The little guy didn't have any problem with the cornflakes but when he looked at the glass of milk, his small face scrunched up in disgust.

Qin Yan noticed his expression and chuckled, "Darling, do you not like milk?"

The little guy nodded while looking away from the milk.

Qin Yan then looked into his big adorable eyes and explained patiently, "Darling, do you know that milk helps in strengthening your bones? If you don't drink milk, how will you grow taller? Don't you want to grow as tall as your father?"

The little guy listened to Qin Yan attentively and nodded.

"Then, be good and drink milk everyday, alright?" Qin Yan said.

The little guy nodded again. Then reluctantly, he picked up the small glass of milk and took a sip.

Qin Yan's heart melted seeing his obedience, 'Ah! What a cute child! Sometimes I wish I could keep him to myself!'

"That's like my baby," Qin Yan ruffled the little bun's hair making him blush with shyness.

She then picked up her bowl and started eating when her eyes fell on the breaking news.

"A small time actress committed suicide!" a tagline was flashing on the breaking news panel. Qin Yan did not increase the volume of the television as she did not want the little guy to hear it. She just read the reason of the suicide flashing on the screen.

It seemed that the actress did not get a breakthrough even after working hard for three years which led to her depression and suicide.

Unknowingly, when Qin Yan saw this news on the television, her thoughts drifted to her previous life.

FLASHBACK!

Qin Yan, in her previous life had met a man in a bar. Because he was in a drunken state, he had offended a few young masters of second rate families which led to them beat him hardly.

At that time, Yun Jian being a police officer could not bear to see a murder in front of her, so she rescued the drunkard from the young masters.

Both Mo Ran and Yun Jian asked the surrounding people if anyone knew the man on which a waiter in the bar revealed the person's identity.

After finding out his address from the waiter, Mo Ran and Yun Jian decided to bring him back to his house.

After a half an hour journey, the two of them stopped in front of an out-of-date apartment in a cramped environment.

The two of them had just reached the door when they saw that things were being thrown out of the house continuously. Then, they heard a shrill, harsh voice from the person coming from inside.

When she saw the man being supported by Mo Ran and Yun Jian, she cursed, "Pah, you shameless and stinky alcoholic! What gold manager? And even the big stars, Liu Xiaorou and Yin Youyou, were managed by you? A gold manager with your revolting behavior? I'm telling you if you still don't pay up your rent tomorrow, get lost!" the plump female landlord in a sleeping gown said in an overbearing manner.

After hearing the female landlord, the man seemed to have gone crazy..

"Ran away… ran away… Damn it… haha… I don't even put in that much effort taking care of my daughter… I'm treating them like my own children, my princesses…"

"I drank until my stomach has internal bleeding just to get them an advertisement… I've never made them drink before…"

"In the end, they were scouted away and they're telling people that I harassed them sexually, that I'm making them doing stuff they are unwilling to… and I'm torturing them… bullying them… hahaha… I'm torturing them…" the man kept on rambling while Yun Jian and Mo Ran practically carried him inside his house.

They carried him to the living room and made him sit on the sofa.

Mo Ran and Yun Jian looked at each other, "What should we do?" they wondered. After some contemplation they decided to help the man.

The man was named Zeng Yaozu, and he was a manager in the Starlight entertainment company.

Starlight Entertainment was one of the leading and fast growing entertainment companies in the country. It's owner Xu Dong was an honest and an upright businessman. Along with these qualities, he had a sharp eye of recognizing talent.

The Starlight Entertainment was one of the rarest companies that did not play by the dirty rules of the industry and thus was preferred by most of the newbies.

As it was growing rapidly, it became a thorn in the eyes of other entertainment companies especially the Skylark Entertainment which was the biggest competitor of the Starlight entertainment.

The Skylark Entertainment started poaching the A-list actors and actresses from the Starlight by giving them double payment contracts and other benefits.

The ones who refused the temptation of Skylark Entertainment and stayed loyal to the Starlight entertainment would find themselves covered in fake scandals and their reputation would go down the drain.

By these malicious ways, Skylark Entertainment successfully destroyed the Starlight entertainment and brought it on the verge of bankruptcy.

Xu Dong being an honest person could not retaliate using the same ways and thus turned helpless.

Zeng Yaozu was one of the top managers of Starlight entertainment. He was the one who stayed loyal to the company and refused the offers of the Skylark Entertainment.

When the Starlight entertainment went down, to promote the newbies under him, Zeng Yaozu sold off all of his assets. When he finally helped them debut, the two of them ran off without a word and even made a false countercharge against him.

The female artists he helped to debut gave the statement that Zeng Yaozu was inappropriate with them, and that he forced them to sleep with him.

The Skylark Entertainment had planned all this. The gold plated manager of the Entertainment industry Zeng Yaozu was left in ruins. Similar things happened to other people of Starlight Entertainment.

Mo Ran came to know about all this after she investigated Zeng Yaozu in an effort to help him.

After knowing all this, Mo Ran felt bad seeing that honest people were treated so badly and evil was winning against the good.

She had then decided to invest in Starlight entertainment and bring the company back to its peak. Although she didn't like entertainment industry, it was only because of the dirty things that were involved in it.

The glamour on the surface hid all the dirty and black secrets of the people in the industry.

Mo Ran was always of the belief that one cannot just wish for the change. One had to bring the change by oneself.

Since, she did not lack money, she decided to help the honest ones so that she could do some cleaning of the industry.

BACK TO THE PRESENT!

"I wonder what is the situation with Starlight entertainment now," Qin Yan uttered her thoughts loud.

"Huh?" the little bun heard Qin Yan but was puzzled. He looked at the news on the television but still could not figure out Qin Yan's thoughts.

He just understood that Qin Yan was wondering about the situation of Starlight Entertainment.
