With Wu Qi interfering in the auction, Director Shao had reached his limit. But then he saw the A-list actors and managers staring at him guessing what he would do, Director Shao gritted his teeth.2

"Grandfather, I have always been bullied by these artists of Starlight Entertainment. This is my only chance to show them their place. Can you help me, just this once?" Shao Heng pleaded with his grandfather.

The faces of all the people of Skylark Entertainment regained colour and they looked at Ji Lingchen and others mockingly.

'You will suffer at our hands only,' they thought.

The faces of the artists of Starlight Entertainment darkened. 'It seems that Skylark is going all out to acquire Starlight,' they confirmed.

Qin Yan looked at the situation and a mocking smile appeared on her face, 'You people of Skylark Entertainment think too highly of yourselves. So I will take this liberty to slap your faces hard.'

"700 million once.."

"700 million twice.."

"One billion yuan," a clear and crisp voice sounded in the auction hall stunning the audience.

One billion, One billion, these words rang in every person's ears continuously. Each and everybody was shocked.

They then saw the sign raised by Wu Qi representing one billion yuan.

'Fuck! Where did these people come from!' people thought while their eyes were glued to Qin Yan and Wu Qi.

Director Shao's face had turned black till now. He felt that he had been slapped hard with a stack of money.

Shao Heng also looked at Qin Yan and Wu Qi with unconcealable hatred in his eyes.

Gong Tianhao's mouth was agape. He could not believe what was happening in the auction and where did his goddess come from.

This time, Ji Lingchen, Fang Wen and Jiang Xun also reacted. They looked at each other and then at Qin Yan and Wu Qi. All of them were dumbfounded. They didn't know who Qin Yan was nor did they know what will happen to them after the company's acquisition.

All they knew was as long as Skylark Entertainment did not acquire their company, it didn't matter who did. At the worst they would leave after their contract expires, but they didn't want Skylark Entertainment to leach onto them till the expiry of their contract. They didn't want to provide any kind of benefits to Skylark Entertainment.

As long as Skylark Entertainment, the company which brought Starlight Entertainment to this miserable state would not get benefits from them, they were fine by working with any other people.

The artists of Starlight Entertainment did not expect anything good from this company acquisition even though they were assured by Qin Yan's smile. Why would anyone think for them! After all people like Xu Dong were the rarest people who didn't think of their own benefits, rather thought of bringing good to others.

If Qin Yan was not positive for them, they just hoped that she doesn't turn negative like Skylark Entertainment. Whatever may happen, it was not in their hands. They could do nothing but wish that everything would be fine.

Between all these reactions and thoughts, the host's anxious voice sounded.

"One billion yuan thrice."

"Sold."

The sound of a small hammer sounded confirming the sale of Starlight Entertainment in one billion yuan.

Qin Yan and Wu Qi were called on the stage to complete the formalities.

Director Shao's face was as dark as a pit. He could not believe that after so many efforts, scheming and planning, Starlight Entertainment slipped out of his hands at the last moment. He strode towards Qin Yan and Wu Qi.

He looked at them and said, "Even if you won the auction, you still need to pay one billion yuan."

Then he turned towards the auction manager and asked, "Manager Wei, kindly tell them the consequences of acting rashly. The auction is not a joke where you can bid any amount. What happens when you cannot pay for what you bid?"

The crowd and the audience heard Director Shao's words and agreed with him. Many of them thought that Qin Yan and Wu Qi duo was just messing around. After all, nobody knew them and one billion yuan was not a small amount. Many people worked their ass off but still could not accumulate one billion yuan even in their seven lifetimes.

Although the auction hall consisted of high end people, one billion yuan was not a small amount for any of them. So how could Qin Yan and Wu Qi fork out so much money like this!

The auction manager looked at Director Shao awkwardly. 'Why is this person so conceited! If he cannot pay this amount, this does not mean that others were also unable to do so.'

Manager Wei cleared his throat and replied, "Director Shao, don't worry. One billion yuan has already been received by us. Mr. Wu has paid it all at once."

Manager Wei's words were like thunder to everyone's ears specially to those of Skylark Entertainment.

"Thud!"

A falling sound was heard in the silent auction hall. When everyone looked over, they saw that Shao Heng had fallen off his chair. He sat on the ground dumbfounded.

Nobody could believe this outcome. It took a while for everyone to come back to their senses. Shao Heng's assistant approached him to help him up. After all, Shao Heng was still the grandson of Director Shao and the crown prince of Skylark Entertainment.

"Get lost!" Shao Heng shook the female assistant's hand making her arch backwards and fall on the floor.

"Ahhh!" A shrill scream sounded out. When Shao Heng pushed the assistant, her head collided with the table and blood seeped out immediately. The venue turned chaotic.

Another assistant called an ambulance when Shao Heng rushed out of the hall in anger. He did not respond to any questions of the reporters and stormed out.

Director Shao collected himself and said in anger directed towards Qin Yan, "Even if you bought Starlight Entertainment, it is nothing but a hollow company now. The actors don't have any resources nor does the company have more than 5-6 people."

He then puffed his chest out and said smugly, "You have incurred a huge loss buying this hollow company. I will see to it that it closes down sooner than expected."

Qin Yan observed the smug expression on Director Shao's face and revealed a sinister smile, "Director Shao, just remember one thing. I am not Xu Dong who is honest and could not retaliate in vicious ways. If there is one attack from your side, I will pay you back tenfold. Also I don't care about the ethics and the methods as long as my work is done."

Her eyes turned cold as she leaned towards Director Shao and whispered, "By the way, remember one thing. Hongxing Gang wanted to embezzle funds through entertainment industry. The company can be anyone. Previously it was Skylark, now it can be Starlight. So, be aware Director Shao. Take good care of yourself."

Director Shao shuddered subconsciously seeing Qin Yan's eyes. 'She is so scary!'

When he heard her words, he realised that the Hongxing Gang cutting ties with Skylark Entertainment had something to do with this lady.

Previously when she provoked Shen Sisi, the middle management had sent people to find out the lady's identity but they could not do so. It seemed that she had disappeared without a trace.

Now even after the auction was over, her name and identity were kept mysterious. Director Shao understood that this lady was not to be trifled with. He had been in this industry for so long, so he knew to fear the strong and bully the weak.

He did not talk back to Qin Yan and walked out of the auction hall. Soon, all the artists and managers of Skylark Entertainment left the hall one by one.

As soon as the people of Skylark Entertainment left, the reporters rushed towards the stage to interview Qin Yan and Wu Qi.

"Miss, may we know who are you?"

"Miss, why did you buy Starlight Entertainment when it is covered with scandals?"

"Do you know that the Starlight CEO Xu Dong is facing charges and currently being detained in police station?"
