Qin Yan kept feeling that something was terribly wrong with this case. But without more information and investigation, she could not figure out anything.0

"By the way, what happened to the last case that we investigated together? That accident one? Did you find out anything?" Qin Yan questioned Yun Jian.

"No, I tried but couldn't find out anything. The information that we got together was the only information that I could collect. I don't know why but I feel that there is something missing. Like there is a puzzle piece missing and thus the puzzle could not be complete," Yun Jian put forward her thoughts in front of Qin Yan.

Qin Yan grew more confused after hearing this. But as she couldn't find anything, she let the matter rest here.

"Let it be. Once we find more clues, we naturally will be able to figure out the situation," Qin Yan said.

Yun Jian nodded thoughtfully.

"Other than this, I wanted to ask you about our pharmaceutical company. How is the response to the AIDS drug that I had developed earlier?" Qin Yan asked curiously.

"We are yet to release the drug in the market and the patent still lies with us. Many doctors want the drug to conduct their own research but our clinical trials are in final stage so the drug will only be released after it passes all the stages," Yun Jian informed.

"You told me last time that Doctor Lu Che is interested in the drug composition, right?" Qin Yan inquired again.

"Yes, he had requested for the drug too many times. But because you didn't allow to, we didn't provide him the drug. His name is still on the top of the request list," Yun Jian smiled.

Qin Yan nodded, "Give him the drug sample this time. In return, I want him to do something for me. You have to be the mediator and help both of us contact each other."

Yun Jian was shocked at Qin Yan's request. She could not believe that Qin Yan wanted to give the drug sample for research to Lu Che, her biggest competitor. She stared at Qin Yan with her eyes wide open. But when she saw the calmness in the latter's eyes, she realised that Qin Yan was being serious about her request.

Yun Jian sighed, "Okay!"

After Yun Jian left, Qin Yan was still lost in her thoughts. She was figuring out what to do further when her cellphone rang.

She frowned when she saw the name of the caller, "Lu Yaran."

She had expected this. She picked up the call when she heard a shrieking voice from the opposite side. She instinctively moved the phone far from her ear, but the voice was so loud that she could still hear everything.

"QIN YAN! GET YOUR ASS BACK AT PEOPLE'S HOSPITAL THIS INSTANT!" Lu Yaran ordered furiously.

Qin Yan smiled coldly and hung up the call. She knew that this was about to happen. Given Xi Yaohua's nature, it was unlikely for him to keep mum. She picked up her handbag and left for the hospital.

On the other side, Lu Yaran's face turned red with anger, "THIS INSOLENT BITCH!" She gritted her teeth and cursed Qin Yan.

Xi Yaohua was lying in the hospital room. His hand was in an indescribable state and even his knee joint was broken. He was literally shivering in pain. Cai Jingyi sat near Xi Yaohua's bed and was sobbing silently.

Qin Muran stood near his bed and consoled him, "Brother Yao, please bear for a while. You will soon be under the influence of painkillers, you will get relief from the pain."

Xi Yaohua had to be operated, and his hand and leg were now covered in a cast. He was injected with painkiller recently and thus his pain reduced after some time.

When asked who did this to him, Xi Yaohua could only say Qin Yan's name. Other than that, he had not said anything till now.

Xi Bingyu and Qin Yicheng stood in the hospital room solemnly. Xi Bingyu looked at his son's state and his eyes flashed with anger. His heart ached seeing his son in this state.

"Why would Qin Yan do such a thing? Yaohua, tell me what's the matter! I will definitely seek justice for you!" Cai Jingyi exclaimed while looking at the Qin family.

Xi Yaohua's pain subsided a little which made him to be able to speak. His body shivered recalling Qin Yan's cold eyes but his mind was filled with anger.

'Qin Yan! How dare you reject me! Even if I was to use you as a plaything, it is your honour to be with me! I will not leave this matter like this! You must pay for your actions!' Xi Yaohua thought sinisterly.

His face however, didn't show any of his inner thoughts and emotions.

"I don't want to say it, mother. Yan Yan is a girl, It won't do anything good to her if I reveal everything. I am a man, I can bear the pain. Mother, please don't cry, my heart breaks while seeing you like this," Xi Yaohua comforted his mother while throwing dirty water on Qin Yan.

Qin Muran heard this and her eyes flashed, "Brother Yao, aunty is just concerned for you. Moreover, sister has done such thing to you once. Who can guarantee that she won't do it again? If you tell us what happened, then we can punish her and prevent her from harming you from now on."

"I really don't know what is wrong with sister. Brother Yao, is it that she did this to you because of me? Because you chose me instead of her? Brother Yao, if this is the case, then I don't want to be with you. If being in love with you can cause so much trouble for you, I'd rather stay alone than to watch you in this state," Qin Muran sobbed silently.

Xi Yaohua's heart swelled up with pride seeing Qi Muran. 'This is how a girl should be! She's ready to sacrifice her happiness just to let me stay healthy. Qin Yan is too full of herself! She needs to be taught a lesson and brought to the ground!'

Xi Yaohua pretended to sigh, "Muran, don't blame yourself. I tried to make Yan Yan understand this but I don't know why she is so muddle-headed. I tried to tell her that I cannot be with her, but she lost her temper over this matter. Of course, I couldn't fight her as she is a girl. Sigh!"

Xi Yaohua revealed almost everything even after saying that he didn't want to. Such scumbags were rare to come by.

Qin Muran and Lu Yaran were fuming in anger. 'This bitch! She tried to seduce Xi Yaohua again! When will she stop! Doesn't she know her place!'

Qin Yicheng's face darkened even more but he did not say anything. Cai Jingyi had a disappointed expression on her face. She had not expected this behaviour from Qin Yan. She had always thought that Qin Yan was a very understanding and gentle person. This was the reason why she and Xi Bingyu liked Qin Yan more till Qin Yan's looks worsened.

Qin Yan stood at the door of the hospital ward and smirked. As expected! She had come here to watch a show and it seemed that the show had already begun.

"Elder Sister!" Qin Muran called out to her as soon as she saw Qin Yan. The faces of all others darkened seeing Qin Yan.

Lu Yaran came forward aggressively and swung her hand at Qin Yan's face, "You ingrate! Look at what you have done!"

The sound of a crisp slap was not heard. When everyone looked over, they saw Qin Yan holding her mother's hand tightly. She increased the grip on Lu Yaran's hand and the latter's pain showed on her face.

"Qin Yan! You ingrate! Let go!" Lu Yaran struggled furiously but could not break free from Qin Yan's grip.

Qin Yan smirked and let go. Lu Yaran as was struggling, lost her balance when Qin Yan loosened her grip. Qin Yan just needed a little push to throw Lu Yaran on the ground. Nobody could decipher how Qin Yan acted but they saw Lu Yaran fall on the ground heavily.

"Ahhh!" Lu Yaran howled.

Qin Yan walked into the hospital ward and uttered coldly, "You don't have any right to hit me. Remember, I no longer live in your house, neither do you provide me with my living expenses."

Qin Yicheng's face turned black. Till now, nobody knew that Qin Yan had moved out of the house. This was a matter of humiliation and the Qin family's honour was the most important thing for Qin Yicheng to consider.

"What happened? Why did you call me here? Does this Young Master need another beating?" Qin Yan chuckled.

"Qin Yan! Why did you do this to my son! I have always treated you as my own daughter but look at what you have done!" Cai Jingyi scolded Qin Yan fiercely.
