Xu Dong and Xu Lei understood what Father Xu wanted to explain. They were both adults and they were aware of the things that Father Xu said but their hearts were not ready to accept these facts.

Maybe this was the reason that having elders in the family was beneficial. Parents had seen the world much more than the children and had enough experience to guide their children in tough times. So at the times when one felt confused and puzzled, when one's mind is messed up, a simple talk with the elders could solve many problems.

Xu Dong nodded at the realisation that hit him and confirmed once again, "So does everyone agree that I should contact that lady and seek treatment for Lei Lei?"

"Yes!" the other three people of the Xu family said with determined gazes.

"Okay!" Xu Dong agreed eventually.

Qin Yan was resting on the couch while watching the television. She had too much on her plate recently and did not find time to rest. Now that she got some 'me' time, she felt relaxed in this state.

Just as she changed the TV channel, she heard her doorbell ring. 'Who is it at this time?' she wondered lazily.

She got up and opened the door to see the person whom she had expected. As there was no call from the entrance of the society and the bell rang, there could only be two people, either Yun Jian or Xi Ting. Yun Jian had left for the capital and thus the person on the door was most probably Xi Ting.

Xi Ting stood outside the door in silence. He wore a pair of casual shirt and a jeans. The sleeves of the shirt were rolled up revealing his sturdy arms. He looked extremely handsome.

Both of them gazed at each other when Qin Yan broke the silence, "What's the matter?" she asked gently.

Xi Ting glanced at the unfamiliar face with a familiar aura around her, "Didn't you say that you would treat me to dinner sometime?"

Qin Yan was stumped hearing Xi Ting's request, "Do you want to have dinner with me today?" Qin Yan pointed at herself in surprise.

Xi Ting nodded calmly.

Qin Yan sucked in a deep breath. She could not digest the fact that Xi Ting had come to her by himself. The mighty Young Master Xi was famous for being unapproachable. Although he was her best friend in her previous life, she knew that there were very few people who were close to Young Master Xi.

Last time when she fainted, she had received his care but she had thought that it was just for humanity. He would have done the same thing for anyone if not her in the same situation.

She also knew that she had a special space in his heart in her previous life. She was not stupid to not realise this after so many incidents.

Him not wanting to wake up, him waking up when she called, her picture in his bedroom, everything clearly indicated his deep love for her.

But that was all for her previous self. Now she was Qin Yan who had nothing to do with him. He still approached her. Then does it mean that his love was fickle? Or is it because she is too similar to Mo Ran that Xi Ting is treating her as a substitute?

Even after thinking all this, Qin Yan could not being herself to get angry at Xi Ting. It was because she knew that be it Mo Ran or Qin Yan, both were her.

She took a peek at Xi Ting's face and gave him way to enter the living room. Xi Ting entered the condominium and felt a warmth in his heart. The decorations were warm and gave the feeling of being at home. This was in contrast to his condominium which was decorated with cold colours and felt like a bachelor's pad.

Qin Yan gestured him to sit on the couch, "Please wait for a while. I will change and come back in couple of minutes."

"The doctor has forbidden me from eating outside food," Xi Ting reminded Qin Yan.

Qin Yan stopped in her tracks and turned around to look at the man sitting in front of her. It took her a while to comprehend what Xi Ting was trying to say.

"Do you want me to prepare a meal for us?" Qin Yan asked uncertainly.

"Isn't it a better gesture to thank anyone rather than just spending some money?" Xi Ting questioned her back.

Qin Yan was again dumbfounded. She didn't know why this man always did and said unexpected things. Normally she was so smart that people found it hard to defeat her in anything. But only in front of Xi Ting, she would turn speechless countless times.

She digested the latter's request and replied, "Okay. Sit here. I will prepare something for us."

Xi Ting's lips curved into a slight smile. The 'us' that Qin Yan referred to gave him a sense of togetherness. "Okay," he replied patiently.

Qin Yan turned back and went into the kitchen in a daze. She strode towards the kitchen sink and splashed some water on her face to collect herself. After splashing water for two to three times, her mind calmed down and she started preparing for dinner.

Qin Yan wore the apron that was placed on the counter.

She then took a pan and placed it on the stove to let it heat while she broke four eggs in a bowl, whisked them and added some seasoning to it.

She was making egg rolls, noodles, stir fried veggies, and one meat dish.

After making egg rolls, she started making other dishes as well. She was making various dishes at the same time. As she was in the army in her previous life, she had all the survival skills which included cooking.

Also because she was staying alone in this life, her skills had been polished and she could cook with ease.

After making dishes, she went to the dining room to place dishes on the table. After placing the dishes, she glanced at Xi Ting sitting on the couch. He was so tall that it seemed that the couch had turned into a cramped place because of his presence. His rolled up sleeves revealed his veins which made him look more attractive and sexy.

Qin Yan stared at Xi Ting who was looking enchantingly handsome and ethereal. She looked at him with her mouth slightly opened in daze.

At the same time, Xi Ting realised someone's eyes on him and he turned sideways to find the source of the stare.

He got up from the couch and walked towards Qin Yan.

When he saw her reaction, he was impressed with it, he chuckled and went to her.

He took the plate from her hands and placed it on the table and asked, "Do you like it?"

Qin Yan came out of her slumber, and asked in a startle, "What?"

The man replied cheekily, "ME!"

He said while looking at her deep orbit eyes as he moved closer to her reducing the distance between them.

She glared at him while her face turned red from his blunt remark, "How can you say something like this!" she exclaimed.

Xi Ting chuckled, "What did I say? Haven't I said what was going on in your mind?" he teased the girl in front of him.

Qin Yan turned her head and moved away from him and said, "Stop talking nonsense. Now sit and eat".

She sat on the chair while he also sat beside her. He looked at this sumptuous meal and asked in surprise, "You made all of this in such a short time?"

The dishes were all authentic Chinese dishes and he ate western meals maximum of the times. But he didn't mind eating it if she had made it.

However, it was too beautiful to eat.
