The food got delivered and Xi Ting served everything properly in different dishes. When Qin Yan came out of the guest room, she saw Xi Ting sitting on the dining table with a spread of light dishes in front of him.2
Xi Ting heard the door of the guest room open and looked up to see Qin Yan coming towards him. He got up and pulled the chair for the lady. Qin Yan sat down before he adjusted the chair to her convenience.
He then went back to the opposite side and started serving the dishes in Qin Yan's bowl.
"Eat this, it is good for your health," He advised her forgetting that she herself was a doctor and knew how to treat herself.
Xi Ting delivered food to Qin Yan's bowl with his chopsticks. His mouth arched slightly as he spoiled her lovingly.
He wiped Qin Yan's face. There was something in the air between them that made it impossible to disturb them. No one could do that, or even approach them. That was a world that belonged to them exclusively.
The two finished the meal in silence and Xi Ting took the plates for washing. Qin Yan sat on the couch watching the television while Xi Ting did the dishes.

At night, Xi Ting busied himself with work. He had been working overtime recently, dealing with some business deals. Sometimes, he had to sleep late too.
Qin Yan walked in with a glass of milk. She set it on the desk before him. Then, she sat at his side quietly without disturbing him. She laid her head on the desk and gazed at his serious profile. Men always look the most handsome when they are working.
Right now, her moonpie was the most handsome guy in the world, second to none.
She propped her face up with an elbow of her right hand. Her head bobbed up and down. Eventually, sleep prevailed her and she slept on the table.
Xi Ting took the glass of milk on the table. It still felt warm. His girl had fallen into a deep slumber on the table, her long lashes curled in pouty unhappiness.
He rose and carried her easily. She was so light. He had to feed her more in the future. She was too thin.
He brought Qin Yan to the guest room and laid her down carefully, pulling the blanket to her chin. He then tapped her clean forehead gently.
He still had work to do so he returned to the study room.
It was almost three when he was done. It was late, but he still had to bathe. When he came out, he saw Qin Yan in his bedroom awake. She knelt by the bed and dried his hair with a towel.
"Why aren't you sleeping?"
Xi Ting snatched the towel from her hands. "It's late."
"I want to tell you something," said Qin Yan, reclaiming the towel. She made him sit on the chair. Standing behind him, she wiped his hair. "You have to dry your hair. What do I do if you fall sick?"
"Fine, fine..What do you want to say?" Xi Ting asked.
"I want to bring you somewhere tomorrow evening. So keep that time free for me," Qin Yan replied.
Xi Ting nodded. He had an inkling of what Qin Yan wanted to say but he did not keep expectations thinking that he might be wrong and be disappointed.
Smiling, Qin Yan kept drying his hair. His hair was a little hard, sometimes prickly. She ran her hands through his hair. Putting the towel aside, she clutched his neck tightly and pressed her face against his shoulders.
"You will get all your answers tomorrow."

The next day, Qin Yan went to the People's hospital in the morning. Today was the last day of the treatment of Su Chong.
Qin Yan entered the treatment room when she saw that everyone was present. Su Chong sat on the patient's chair while the Su couple were standing beside him smiling happily.
Elder Tang was chatting with them and they all were laughing merrily. As soon as Qin Yan entered the room, the smiles on their faces grew wider. The Su couple looked at the young doctor in front of them gratefully.
In the last few months, they had seen their son improve a lot. His mental health had improved and he was no longer the child with mental issues. Although he would still be behind his peers by few years, but he had recovered his mind and if he tried, he could catch up to other children of his age.
As Qin Yan strode into the room, Su Chong finished writing and waved at her with a smile.
Su Chong could write his own name now. After repeated practice, the words he wrote could be read.
Qin Yan praised with a smile, "Chong'er, you wrote it so well. You're awesome. I am so happy for you."
Her patient was finally not stupid.
Su Chong's eyes lit up receiving the appreciation from this doctor-sister.
He raised his head and looked at the sister-doctor, who praised him with a sweet smile. He was also happy from the bottom of his heart. He said gently, "I am happy too."
It was only recently that Su Chong had begun to understand that he was a little different from the others, but he didn't mind because the sister-doctor always smiled at him with her pretty eyes.
He was happy now that he could understand things. He was no longer as blank as before.
The Su parents smiled with tears in their eyes. Father Su did not want anyone to see his tears, so he immediately turned around and wiped them away.
Both of them bowed gratefully in front of Elder Tang and Qin Yan, "Doctor Tang, Doctor Qin, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
Elder Tang took a deep look at the Su parents, shook his head, and said, "You don't have to thank me. Miss Qin cured them. With the remaining medicines, Su Chong can go to school after the new year."
Hearing this, the Su couple was overjoyed. This was great. This way, their child could also take the scholarly examination in the future.
They thanked Qin Yan again and again and finally presented her with few rare medicinal herbs from the mountains. Qin Yan did not refuse them and took the things away with a smile. She knew that this was just their grateful attitude.
They did not have anything else to give her in exchange for the treatment of their child, so they used this method to compensate her.
The impression Su couple gave to her in the first time was still intact. They were people with self respect and did not want to keep anybody's favour. Although they couldn't compensate for what Qin Yan had done for them but they tried to thank her for her efforts with their hearts. So the herbs represented their gratefulness and rejecting them would hurt the other side.
The other reason why Qin Yan did not reject them was obviously because these herbs were too precious and rare. Now, she needed them for a certain task. She had already inquired about them in the herb store but she could not get the original pieces and the herbs she got in the store were filled with certain amount of impurities. Rather than serving her purpose, they would do the opposite and harm the person by producing certain adverse effects.
Coincidentally, Qin Yan got the pure ones from the Su couple. She would be stupid if she rejected the things.
"Thank you, Mr and Mrs. Su," Qin Yan thanked the Su couple with a smile.
"This is just a token of thanks from us, Doctor Qin. We are unable to give you anything else but this. You have done a big favour on us. If you need any more herbs anytime, you can look for us. We will search the mountain and try to bring anything you ask for," Father Su gave his word to Qin Yan.
"Okay, I will definitely look for you if I need anything," Qin Yan replied, "Also I need to come to your village to see Chong'er studying seriously. Right, Chong?"
"Yes, yes, sister doctor must come to my home. We will play to our heart's extent then," Su Chong jumped in excitement.
Just as everyone was chatting, the door of the ward opened and Elder Su stepped in. He looked at everyone with an amicable smile, "Hello everyone. Since today is the last day of Su Chong's treatment, I am here to check him and ensure that my to-be-disciple has done a good job," Elder Su chuckled lightly.
His words were filled with confidence towards Qin Yan's talent. He knew from Su Chong's behaviour how much he had improved. But he wanted to do an internal checkup to ensure that nothing else is compromised in treating the patient's mental issues.
