A pale hand that was dyed with blood had tightly grabbed onto Qin Yan's ankle.

No wonder she felt a touch of stickiness. Qin Yan thought to herself.

Her gaze shifted upwards a little and followed the arm of the man. What met her gaze was a face so ferocious, it would startle an entire crowd.

As Qin Yan checked out Gu Beihan, Gu Beihan, who was lying on the ground, raised his head to look at her.

His lips were thin and light, and his tone was laced with pain, "Save me."

Qin Yan was expressionless. The words she spoke out were emotionless and cold, "I don't make unprofitable deals. Give me a reason to save you."

Gu Beihan's inhale sharply stopped. He didn't think a girl could be as cruel as this. On the other hand, he admired someone who belonged to the same category as him.

So he tossed out a golden temptation, "One hundred million."

Even after his words, Qin Yan remained quiet and had no indication of making a move.

Gu Beihan thought to himself, "Could it be that she finds it too little?"

That would make sense. How could his life only be worth one hundred million?

Just as he was about to top up his offer, Qin Yan's cool voice arose from above, "I don't need money."

Gu Beihan was astonished and was in awe that there was someone like this in the Capital city. Instantly, he became intrigued.

The blood from the wound on his chest continued to flow. Though he was at risk of losing his life any second now, he had an expression of collectedness.

His lips curled into a demonic smile, "How about I pay you with my own body?"

Upon hearing this, Qin Yan's expression not only did not seem to waver, it also seemed like her patience had run dry.

"Not great."

After throwing down this statement, Qin Yan struggled out of his grasp and left without lingering.

He thought he was already ruthless enough and cold enough. He couldn't believe there would exist someone who was worst than him in those areas.

Could it be that he was going to die here today? Gu Beihan thought mockingly to himself.

As his consciousness drifted in and out, the sound of footsteps approached. Then, a gentle and as if boneless hand helped him up.

Looking at Qin Yan, who had returned after deciding to leave, Gu Beihan's lips curled into a happy shape before passing out peacefully in her embrace.

Warm breaths landed on her neck, making Qin Yan frown. She knocked his head out of the way and walked forward while holding onto him with one arm.

Before long, Qin Yan stopped again.

During the several times her eardrums pulsed, four to five men in black had blocked her way. All of them carried killer's intent with them.

Qin Yan felt her head hurt, thinking that she had saved someone troublesome.

The leader in black watched over Qin Yan, "Young friend, leave behind the man and I can spare you your life."

Qin Yan sighed at those words, then purposefully eyed Gu Beihan, "Your target is him?"

The leader in black responded, "That's not your business."

Qin Yan shook her head, "This person is under my possession so it's not really up to you."

The leader in black chuckled in disdain as if he had heard some kind of joke, "There isn't anyone in this world who we want to kill but cannot kill!"

Qin Yan blew at the bangs before her forehead, "What a coincidence. There isn't anyone in this world who I want to save but cannot save!"

The leader in black obviously didn't think anything of Qin Yan. However, he didn't want anyone to provoke him like this.

He smirked, "Since you like meddling in others' business so much, then don't blame me for being impolite… Ugh…"

Before he could finish, a wind blew and attacked from the front. His neck felt a tight squeeze and was now under the grasp of Qin Yan's hand.

Qin Yan was just walking away and within an instant, had reappeared right before him and clamped his lifeline.

The disdain from below the leader's eyes slowly transformed from disbelief to shock.

A young girl who looked so low-key knew martial arts!

Qin Yan continued to claw onto the leader's neck. When she glanced over, the others who were once acting excited had shriveled up.

Qin Yan retracted her gaze and then spoke slowly with a tone that indicated just how exasperated she was with the incapability of these people.

The way the leader looked at Qin Yan was now also full of terror and respect.

Qin Yan pushed the leader back, "Don't bother me anymore!"

She then no longer paid attention to these people. While carrying Gu Beihan, she got out of there.

The leader fell into deep thought.

The person from beside him asked, "Boss, we are letting them go just like that? Killing Gu Beihan was our mission."

The leader looked over to him. "Did you forget how she attacked us just now? Do you think we can overcome her?"

The questioner was stifled and stopped speaking.

Qin Yan called Yun Jian, "I am coming to your place. There's an emergency!" she said as soon as Yun Jian picked up the call.

Yun Jian had just reached her residence when she received a call from Qin Yan. Before she could understand anything, Qin Yan bombarded her with this information.

"What's the matter...." Qin Yan didn't wait for Yun Jian to ask anything and hung up the call.

Yun Jian, on the other side, sighed. Anyway, she knew that her best friend would not joke about anything like this, so she just waited for Qin Yan patiently.

On this side, Qin Yan did not try to hail a taxi to Yun Jian's residence. She knew that nobody would give her a lift as she carried a man with such a big wound. She just walked towards her best friend's house.

Gu Beihan was 190cm tall. As Qin Yan supported him and walked to Yun Jian's villa, she didn't break a sweat nor did she breathe heavily.

The moment they arrived at the living room, a surprised shrill arose, "Ah, Yan Yan, why did you bring back a man? Who is this?!"

"I picked him up from the streets," Qin Yan walked up the stairs without stopping her steps or turning her head, "Jian, bring the first aid kit to the guest room."

"Ah, okay," Yun Jian nodded and walked away to fetch the kit.

Qin Yan helped Gu Beihan to the guest room and gently placed him on the bed.

Without any hesitation, she tore apart his blazer and the blood-soaked white dress shirt.1

Near the heart was a mush of blood and flesh. Because it was on Gu Beihan's pretty white chest, it looked like such an eyesore.

It was a gunshot wound.

Qin Yan performed an initial examination. Then, she poured a bucket of water and cleaned off the blood around the wound.

Before long, Yun Jian walked in holding the first aid kit.

"Yan Yan, the first aid kit is here. Oh god! How did he get shot? And where did you find him?" Yun Jian looked at the situation curiously.

Qin Yan sighed helplessly and took over the first aid kit. As she prepared the medicine and the tools, she said, "On the way. Someone tried to assassinate him."

Qin Yan responded simply and crisply as she continued to efficiently disinfect, anesthetize, remove the bullet, and bandage the wound. Her series of movements were fluid like running water – everything was done in one fluent motion.

After hearing Qin Yan's response, Yun Jian realized why she decided not to take him to the hospital. However, slight worry started to rise within her again, "Should we do something?"

Qin Yan's hand that was tying up the bandage froze a bit, then, she tied a knot. "No. I know where to draw the line."

Hearing Qin Yan's words, Yun Jian felt calmer.

She looked at Gu Beihan's blood-stained face and her eyes brightened. "He is so handsome! Other than Xi Ting, he is the most handsome guy I have ever seen!"

Qin Yan sighed again, knowing that Yun Jian was helplessly into good looks. There was no cure.

She washed her hands and was about to leave when Yun Jian grabbed onto her, "Hey, you aren't staying here to take care of him? What if something happens to him?"

"I have to return to the University. My work is done here," Qin Yan responded emotionlessly.

"Atleast clean his face, then we will think about what to do," Yun Jian pleaded Qin Yan.

Qin Yan sighed, "Okay!" She brought a basin of clean water and wiped Gu Beihan's face with a towel.

As his handsome face was revealed, Yun Jian's eyes narrowed. She gazed at Gu Beihan and mumbled, "I think I have seen him somewhere!"
