Just as Qin Yan reached the Moonlight villa, she got a call from Elder Su.

"Qin Yan."

"Yes Master? What's the matter?" Qin Yan frowned while hearing Elder Su's solemn voice.

"I just got a call from Angel Hospital. A young man has met with an accident and his condition is very serious. I need you to reach the hospital right now. Do whatever is needful," Elder Su instructed strictly.

"Okay. I will reach the hospital as soon as possible," Qin Yan replied affirmatively.

Xi Ting glanced at Qin Yan and asked, "What happened?"

"I need to reach the Angel Hospital right now," Qin Yan replied.

Both of them looked at each other in understanding and Xi Ting drove off to the hospital with Qin Yan. Xi Ting knew that if the patient's condition wasn't serious, Elder Su wouldn't have called Qin Yan.

For some reason, Qin Yan felt a great sense of unease in her heart. It was a feeling like something was slipping away.

Emergency room.

Lu Yaran had collapsed from crying. Despair was written all over her body and face as she sat on the ground, disregarding her image.

However, at a time like this, anyone that looked at her would simply feel a sense of pity.

She was a mother, and two of her children were involved in a car accident. Moreover, her only son was being resuscitated in the emergency operating theater, and his condition was unclear.

Any mother in her position would feel the same sense of despair.

Just as Qin Yan stepped into the hospital, she spotted Lu Yaran kneeling outside the emergency theater, crying her heart out.

Her heart tightened. Qin Yan's lips pursed together and her eyes lowered.

'A young man met with a car accident and his condition is serious..' Elder Su's words reverberated in her mind. Qin Yan hoped that the person inside would be different from who she was assuming.

Xi Ting stood there with Qin Yan, his face cold. He saw Qin Yan's pursed lips and knew that she was sad. Suddenly, he sensed was that her vibe had changed and there was a sense of determination.

Qin Yan clenched her fists and stepped forward…

"Qin Yan?" Qin Yicheng sensed something and saw the pale-faced girl approaching with her clenched fists as soon as he turned around. "What are you doing here?"

His voice was a little stiff without any affection.

Xi Ting spotted Qin Yicheng and Lu Yaran. He had a foreboding feeling. He took a deep breath and stood from a distance without following Qin Yan any further.

Qin Yan's here?

Lu Yaran suddenly lifted her head, tears in her eyes, and spotted a beautiful face looking at her.

In an instant, the hatred in her heart sprouted and grew into a huge tree.

She didn't know where she got the strength, but she suddenly stood up and pushed Qin Yan.

Qin Yan was caught by surprise and she fell on the floor. Pain immediately spread through her body and tears began to form in her eyes. But she quickly blinked them back.

"Yan Yan!" Xi Ting immediately rushed over.

"You jinx! How dare you come here? What did you do to Mufeng? He just left the mall! You are so unlucky, you little troublemaker! You won't let us live in peace even after you've left. You did this to me before, now you're doing it to your brother! Let me tell you, Qin Yan, if something happens to Mufeng, you won't be able to live in peace either!"

"What are you talking about?!"

As he listened to Lu Yaran's ridiculous rant, Qin Yicheng maintained a bit of logic. Also after seeing the man supporting Qin Yan, he was overwhelmed by a sense of fear.

She blinked her eyes, trying to force back her tears. She suddenly started regretting her actions. She should have made up with Qin Mufeng. Her brother was trying so hard to coax her but she was as rigid as a stone. Now that Qin Mufeng was in such a situation, everything was gone. She didn't care for him when he was well and took him for granted. Now that he is fighting for his life, did she understand his worth.

"No I have to save him.." Qin Yan's gaze turned determined.

On the other hand, Qin Yicheng grabbed onto Lu Yaran's arm. If this was in the past, Lu Yaran may have actually backed off. But now, both of her most beloved children were in the operating theater! Her only son; her most capable son! Her son was in the emergency operating theater! How could she maintain her logic in this situation?

Her eyes turned red and bloodshot as she glared at Qin Yan fiercely like an angry poltergeist.

"Qin Yan! Why aren't you the one who's dying?"

Everyone was shocked.

On the surface, this girl was also her daughter. But, she was obviously treated differently.

Clearly, this woman acted like a good mother, but to Qin Yan, she was not good at all.

"Is something wrong with you?" Xi Ting's eyes flashed with extreme anger, "If something's wrong, then you should go see a psychiatrist! What does this have to do with Yan Yan? If Yan Yan was really a jinx, then why are you still alive after the way that you've treated her?"

Lu Yaran had lost all the sense as she did not feel Xi Ting's anger. She also did not look at the man who was shielding Qin Yan. She raised her hand to slap Qin Yan.

"Lu Yaran!"

Qin Yicheng was shocked. His face turned pale as he gripped onto Lu Yaran's wrist. "This is the hospital; not a place for you to cause drama! What are you doing? Can you shut up and think of it as good karma for your kids?"

"Tell her to leave then! I don't want to see her!" Lu Yaran pointed at Qin Yan with hatred.

Qin Yicheng's temples twitched. His pride was completely gone.

He lowered his head and looked around. Fortunately, this was a private hospital and they didn't treat many people at the one time. So, he wasn't worried that the nurses and doctors would spread news about what had happened that day.

If it really happened, he wouldn't be able to handle the humiliation.

Seeing that Lu Yaran wasn't backing down, and was persistent about not existing in the same space as Qin Yan, Qin Yicheng held his breath. He pursed his lips and said in a lowered voice, "Yan Yan, why don't you go to the campus first? Your mom and I are here. You can visit when your brother's life is no longer in danger."

It sounded like a negotiation, but his tone was firm.

"No! I won't allow that!"

Even though Qin Yicheng said this, Lu Yaran was not satisfied.

"She is a jinx! As long as she is around, she's bad luck for our Mufeng and Muran! Even when Mufeng recovers, I won't allow her to see him!"0

The smell of gunpowder lingered in the air and Xi Ting's expression sunk.

"Enough!" Qin Yicheng grabbed Lu Yaran and furrowed his brows as he felt cold seeing Xi Ting's face sink, "If she wants to stay then let her stay. If you continue talking recklessly, then go home!"

"How can I relax when Mufeng and Muran haven't come out yet?" Lu Yaran shrieked.

"Then quiet down and shut up!" Qin Yicheng growled.

His sharp gaze fell upon Lu Yaran, causing her to shiver. She finally realized what was happening as her mouth opened.

She then sat back down in frustration.

Every second outside the emergency theater was torturous.

Ding—

The doors to the emergency operating theater flew open and two nurses stepped out covered in blood. They spoke quickly, "The patient has intracranial bleeding, his ribs are broken, and his kidneys are punctured. We can't stop the bleeding! Where is his family? We need you to sign a consent form."

A medical waiver appeared in front of them. When Lu Yaran heard the nurse's words, she stepped back and her head buzzed.

A second later, a cry of sorrow and despair sounded.

"I'm not signing! I will never sign this!"
