Xi Ting hadn't even asked where she was feeling unwell! Did he only have eyes for Qin Yan now?

"I-I'll get going, then," Nei Mianmian held her tears back and turned around slowly.

"Oh, right!" It seemed like she suddenly recalled something as she reached for a little box in her bag.

She handed the box to Xi Ting, "This is the gift I brought back for you from overseas. Others have already received it, but since I couldn't get in contact with you, this was with me."

Xi Ting hesitated for a while before receiving it, "Thank you."

That "thank you" was even more tear-jerking for Nei Mianmian.

She smiled as if mocking herself, "Ah Ting, we've known each other for so long. Do you have to be so formal with me?"

With that, she looked at Qin Yan apologetically, "I'm sorry, Yan Yan. I didn't know you and Ah Ting were committed when I was getting the gifts, so I didn't prepare yours. I'll make it up to you."

Qin Yan was slightly stunned but quickly said, "It's fine!" She didn't need any gifts from Nei Mianmian.

They were all good friends for over a decade, some even over two decades. Although she was Xi Ting's girlfriend, this was her first time meeting them. She was no more than a stranger to them, actually.

"I'll see you next time, then," Nei Mianmian turned and left.

Nei Zehai followed behind her, "I will also get going. See you, Miss Qin."

Qin Yan nodded, "Goodbye!"

After leaving the clubhouse.

Nei Mianmian cried her heart out in the car. She sobbed continuously making Nei Zehai's heart ache.

Nei Zehai rubbed her back, "Mianmian, stop crying. It's of no use."

Nei Mianmian sobbed, "Brother, why does Ah Ting not like me? Why did he choose another girl as his girlfriend? What's wrong with me? What does she have that I do not have?" Nei Mianmian wanted to know the reason behind Xi Ting's love for Qin Yan.

Nei Zehai felt bad for his sister as he explained, "Mianmian, remember one thing. There is no reason for love. It doesn't matter how beautiful you are, how talented you are or how good your background is. If someone doesn't like you, they won't like you no matter what you do, or how hard you try to please them."

"No, I don't accept this. I can't accept this. I have been trying to win Ah Ting's heart for so long. I can't accept that some other girl suddenly occupies his heart.." Nei Mianmian was not in the condition to understand anything.

Nei Zehai still did not give up, "Mianmian, try to understand. You yourself are saying that Ting Ting has not accepted your love even though you are trying for so long. This means that he simply does not see you as his woman. At the most, you can be his friend or a little sister."

Nei Mianmian looked at Nei Zehai with tears in her eyes, "Brother, no matter what you say, I won't give up. Ah Ting and Qin Yan are still not married. A couple can easily break up if any argument occurs." A cunning look flashed across Nei Mianmian's eyes.

Nei Zehai frowned on seeing his sister. Being in the business world for so long, he understood a person by just a glance. He knew what Nei Mianmian was thinking. But he didn't understand why she was obsessed with Xi Ting.

"Mianmian, I am reminding you for the last time. Love cannot be forced. If you force your love on someone, your other relationships with that person might suffer," Nei Zehai continued, "Now even though you are not Xi Ting's girlfriend, he still treats you like his friend. Don't do anything which might result in damaging your friendship. You won't have anything then."

"Now is the time you clear up your thoughts. Otherwise if you continue like this, you won't even get the chance to regret your actions," Nei Zehai spoke his mind.

He didn't want his sister to go on the wrong path. He knew Xi Ting very well. Once someone stepped on his bottom line, they would not end up well. He didn't even know if Xi Ting would forgive Nei Mianmian if she did something wrong on account of the Nei family.

Nei Mianmian sat in daze. Nobody knew if she heard her big brother's advice or not. She looked outside the car blankly.

On the other side, in the clubhouse the atmosphere lightened after Nei Mianmian and Nei Zehai left.

Nei Zhaoyang was worried for his sister but knowing that big brother was with her, he felt relieved.

After both his siblings left, he could speak to Qin Yan more freely.

He immediately asked her, "Sister-in-law, I want to ask you a question, can I?"

Qin Yan glanced at Nei Zhaoyang and saw his naughty look. She knew he was upto no good but she still nodded.

Nei Zhaoyang's eyes lit up as he asked, "What did you like about Bro Xi? Don't you feel annoyed seeing his stoic face?"

Xi Ting's face darkened while others laughed their hearts out.

Qin Yan glanced at her moonpie lovingly and said, "He doesn't have a straight face when he is with me. So, I get to admire his handsome face along with his gentleness."

Hearing Qin Yan's reply, Xi Ting's lips curved up slightly. While the other guys felt constipated.

"Ol' Yang, why did you have to ask such a question? First, Bro Xi fed us a lot of PDA, but now that you asked this, sister-in-law is also feeding us dog food," Yan Shaoqing exclaimed sadly.

"Yes, sister-in-law please have some mercy of single people in the room," Yan Ziqi sighed.

Seeing the heirs of top three families mingling so well with her, Qin Yan laughed heartily.

The laughter and chatter in the room never stopped till the party ended. Xi Ting was happy that his friends were able to accept Qin Yan. Other than some unpleasantness with Nei Mianmian, everything went well.

Qin Yan was also in a good mood. She didn't expect that she would be able to adjust with Xi Ting's friends so well. Even Nei Zhaoyang wasn't prejudiced towards her even though she was in the place where his sister desired to be.

Qin Yan thus gained a very good impression of Xi Ting's friends in her heart. Similarly, all the others also gained a favourable impression of Qin Yan in their hearts. Not only was Qin Yan beautiful, she was also very approachable without any arrogance.

She was neither dominant nor submissive towards anyone. This quality of hers made her attractive in the eyes of the heirs who always had people licking their feet to get benefits.

Everyone wanted people to treat them genuinely by heart. But rich persons had very few people who treated them well without any expectation of benefits. Mostly they would come across the people who would butter them up for their own interests.

Thus, they would cherish those who treated them like normal people and not some bigshots.

The party ended on a good note and Xi Ting dropped Qin Yan to her campus.

When Qin Yan entered the campus, she saw a person sitting quietly on the table between the bushes. She walked towards the person slowly.

Looking at the downcast Qiao Qing, Qin Yan couldn't help but ask, "What happened, Qing Qing?"

Qiao Qing was startled hearing Qin Yan's voice. She looked beside her to see Qin Yan sitting there gazing at her worriedly.

Qin Yan's voice brought her out of her thoughts but she did not say anything.

"Is there anything I can help you with? Is there anything on your mind? You can share it with me," Qin Yan comforted Qiao Qing.

"No, it's nothing," Qiao Qing was still not ready to share her issues with Qin Yan.

Qin Yan sighed, "Qing Qing, I'll reframe my sentence. Is there any problem related to your boyfriend?"

Qiao Qing was stunned listening to Qin Yan's question.

"You..How do you know about this?" She asked Qin Yan with her eyes filled with astonishment.

"It doesn't matter how I know about it. But you can be rest assured that I did not do anything to invade your privacy," Qin Yan assured Qiao Qing.

"No no, Yan Yan, I didn't mean that," Qiao Qing tried to explain herself.

"I know you didn't mean that. I am just informing you. Now tell me, is there anything regarding your boyfriend that is bothering you?" Qin Yan asked again.

Qiao Qing sighed, "It is regarding him but I don't know what exactly is bothering me.."2

"Tell me what happened, I will figure it out for you," Because Qiao Qing was Qin Yan's best friend, she wished that she could help her. Otherwise she won't have bothered, no matter who it was.

"Okay..So I told you about my family situation. My parents constantly ask me to do something about my birthmark. I was really pissed and so I told him about my problem.."
