The death of Mo Ran
The right-hand man continued, "Boss, I think that since Xi Ting doesn't want the girl to find out his identity, he is acting conspicuous with less security."2
"Okay. So this is a good chance for us. We have to kill him when he is with this girl. However, did you find out who the girl is? She isn't someone who we can't offend, is she?" The leader asked.
The right-hand man shook his head, "Boss, the girl is Mo Ran, a renowned doctor. However, she is an orphan so there is no family behind her. Even if we accidentally kill her, we won't offend anyone."
"I don't care about the girl. I just want Xi Ting's life," The leader said.
"Okay boss. We will plan accordingly then," The right-hand man responded.
Yu Zilong meanwhile had an eye on the activities of the gang.
A few days later, Xi Ting and Mo Ran met again in a cafe. Just as they were about to order the coffee, a group of people suddenly rushed in from the dome-shaped door.
These people wore all black with a piece of black gauze mask covering their faces. What was terrifying about them was that all of them had pistols in their hands.
"Ah!" The customers who were sitting in a cafe panicked at the sight, terrorized by the intruders who had barged in with guns.
A hostage situation!
Everyone pictured the armed intrusion as mentioned at the same time.
Could these invading gunned men dressed in black belong to some assassin organization?
Xi Ting's gaze turned sharper, not expecting this group of men in black to barge into cafe right away.
Mo Ran cast her gaze down and pressed her lips together. Everyone in the cafe was shaking in terror and trepidation.
At this moment, Xi Ting stood up slowly. His eyes were burning with hostility as he stared straight at the leader and the rest of the men dressed in black.
Despite everyone's shocked gaze, Xi Ting stood up with his eyes trained on the leader. His tone was inexplicably furious. "You're back again?"
He was getting herself killed! Everyone in the room thought in alarm.
"Heh, yes. And this time we are not letting you go back alive," The leader cackled and aimed for Xi Ting with his pistol.
"Same to you. All of you have to die!" Xi Ting declared as his gaze turned piercing.
The gleam was a brief flash. Mo Ran was puzzled at first but soon figured out that these people were after Xi Ting's life. Although she didn't know why, she decided to protect her moonpie at all costs.
The leader's hand was about to pull the trigger from the shook of Xi Ting's ferocity. Xi Ting then stepped out and stalked toward the leader under Mo Ran and others' terrified gaze.
Cracking his neck, the leader cackled before raising his pistol with a menacing smirk.
Bang!
As the people of the cafe stared in horror, the leader fired a shot at Xi Ting. It made everyone's heart squeeze.
When Mo Ran saw Xi Ting moving towards the leader and showing no sign of running despite being held at gunpoint, she panicked.
The leader pulled the trigger in the next second!
Dead! Everyone could already picture a bullet going through Xi Ting's head and blood splattering everywhere. They were mortified, only to see…
The leader cackled, so sure in his expectation that he would kill Xi Ting on the spot. Pulling the trigger, the moment the bullet fired, Xi Ting instantly collapsed to the floor like a zooming racing car and avoided the shot.
Till this time, Xi Ting's hidden guards had already called for a backup and thus a brutal fight between the two groups occurred in the cafe.
The calm and quiet atmosphere of the cafe was shattered by the sound of breaking glass and shouting voices.
Tables and chairs were overturned, glasses shattered, and the air was thick with the sound of breaking bones and curses.
The other customers in the cafe, sensing the danger, fled out the back door, leaving the two groups alone to settle their dispute.
The men fought fiercely, each one determined to come out on top. Blood was spilled, and the air was thick with the acrid smell of gunpowder.
The cafe was soon a battlefield, with men hiding behind overturned tables and dodging bullets. It was chaos, with Xi Ting's men clearly winning the fight.
They had managed to disarm their opponents, and they were closing in for the kill.
Just as everyone thought that the intruder's gang was about to be wiped out, the leader of Xi Ting's group pointed his gun towards Xi Ting and shot him.
"Fuck!"
As Xi Ting did not expect a betrayal from his own subordinate, he was shot.
"Moonpie!" Mo Ran was shocked. Tears appeared in her eyes as she ran towards Xi Ting.
Xi Jiu killed the betrayer then and there itself and then came running to Mo Ran, "Miss Mo, please save our boss. This is not the time to cry. You can do it. Only you can do it."
Mo Ran heard Xi Jiu and came back to her senses. She collected herself and sprang into action immediately. She could see the blood spreading rapidly, and she knew that she needed to act fast.
She took a deep breath and focused on treating the wound. She quickly assessed the wound, noting the entry and exit points, and started applying pressure to stop the bleeding.
Xi Jiu had already called the ambulance, however Mo Ran knew that Xi Ting would not survive till the ambulance arrived. She had to stabilize his situation.
Using her training and years of experience, Mo Ran performed a makeshift surgery on the spot. She removed the bullet, cleaned the wound, and stitched it up as best she could with the limited supplies she had in her medical bag.
Xi Jiu and others were busy in wiping out the gang who attacked Xi Ting. Mo Ran was busy dressing Xi Ting's wounds, so no one noticed that a man dressed as a member of the gang snuck into the cafe. He picked up a gun lying on the ground and shot Mo Ran without hesitation.
